Journeyman electrician here, I'm still working like crazy! I haven't had a day off since February! Thank God tho, could be a lot worst, I'm not complaining! Keep the videos coming, and stay safe! 🇺🇸🦅
2nd yr apprentice. I was unlucky working at Disney and first thing they did was cut any crew over 50. But i found some side work doing fiber glass. Surprisingly they're doing the seats for their transport car things lol can't wait to get back to it though
We have an inverter in the van and that charger stays plugged in on the shelf all the time, when you roll up to the job all the batteries are charged! BTW a 3/4” rigid coupling and a toggle bolt makes a great window handle !!
Sounds like your old van could have done with some Cresent rivets on the window winders! 🤣 That's a neat idea the 6 X charger and a piggy back plug too boot! 👌🏽 Good to hear from you mate, and that things are still rolling along for you. All good this neck of the woods in Australia. Take care, stay safe and be well. 👍🏽
Hi Mike ,Thanks for A Cool New Video . I have the Smaller Channel lock 420 's Like Them . Craftsman Robogrip . Nice Too . I Wouldn't Pay $75 Either ! I'm Retired So Just Hanging In There . Trying to be Busy and Safe . Just got An RC Too Have Some fun . Be Safe . looking Forward to Next Video !
Electrician out of Cincinnati here. All the same, except taking temps every morning. I'm wiring a real estate office at the moment, just left the trampoline park my coworker is heading up. Yep all real essential around here. But hey, I get my 40 in.
Good to see a new video! My job is considered "essencial" because it's aviation, but not sure why. I work on private aircraft and most people have no place to go! Good projects, though. People are getting upgrades and major overhauls while they have no place to go!
Good to hear from ya mike. I just got the axe but because of the low oil prices not the virus. But we'll be good, just enjoying being stuck at home with the wife and kids now
I install and service access control systems/CCTV/Alarm systems and am considered essential but haven't been supplied (other than gloves) any PPE or sanitizer. Therefore I've been at home for the last month collecting Employment Insurance. On the upside my wife doesn't seem to be completely annoyed by me yet:)
So you stopped working because they didnt provide you a mask and some lysol? I do the same job and my company did provide that stuff, but honestly im not using any of it. I only have to wear a mask at a few locations, its not gonna stop the virus anyways.
OH SHIT! - I have been watching your back catalog and BEHOLD! You got a new video! Love your stuff man! Hope you're staying happy and healthy! Good thing us Electricians are "essential"! Hope you're still working, my man! EDIT: You should make a new "what you need to know, Apprentice" video and add "your #1 job is making sure batteries are charged!" LOL
I have a few of the Knipex pliers and they're definitely worth it. But I should note that they're a lot cheaper over here (the Netherlands, neighbour of Germany). Roughly 20 freedom bucks or so.
Glad youre good man My jobs still “essential” too so we’re rolling a bit slow cause our customers are a bit antsy about everything but when we slow down we’re remodeling the bosses lake house not too much change overall just morning temp checks and lots of people on factory floors who are freaked out about it
One day I might grow up and get Knipex (ny-peks). But yeah I'm still using slip joint pliers also 😎 I understand the Knipex is wonderful, that darn it I would cry if I lost them on a construction site
For me, I completed a 2 year pre apprentice program in college. And right now I found out that in order to be an electrician where I am, they want you to have grade 12 physics as well. So i'm doing an online physics course even after completing friggin electrical at college.
One thing I miss about Electrical Construction is getting to buy cool new tools. Now I work for a utility and they provide all my hand and power tools and I’m not supposed to use my tools.
My work was sort of classed as essential. Working on cars for a rental car company. But, I wasn't out of my probationary period so they laid me off and everyone else got put on furlough except like five dudes. Went and got a job at a grocery store stocking shelves at night until I can find something better. It's pretty god-awful and the second something better comes along I'm quitting.
A cool little tool I'm currently playing with is the New Revolution tool. It holds my 5/16 hex self tappers. I'm the king at dropping those damn things off the end of my bit.
We are doing a lot of the same precautions at my jobsite too, except they make us wear face shields like sneeze guards at a buffet. We don't have the Clorox guy though.
Glad to see a video from you. Do you plan on doing random shows still going forward or are you planning on getting morw into a routine? I'm asking because I really enjoy them
I'm gonna try to get back into a routine, i made space at my apartment for a work bench, lol, I'm gonna be tinkering with shit, i need a space to do that
Went from working 80 hour weeks to hardly over 20, SLC international airline fueling. Hopefully might get some help from the cares act. Airports going to take much long to recover. Consider me semi- essential lol.
First year here, definitely not goin to school this year anymore, but aside from that i just gotta keep a face mask around my neck while on site and I'm good in the companies eyes lol
The wife and I have been fortunate enough that we can afford to not work for a substantial amount of time. I'm still itching to get back to work though. Although, sleeping in till whenever the hell I feel like getting up is nice too
On your veto tech xl video you were worried about people taking your sharpies, now you’re bringing in a 5 battery charger. Dude you’re gonna paranoid, you won’t get any work done 😁
How are you all gonna make me wanna buy a new pair of channellocks that i dont need?😂😂 also the lansky sharpener is badass. I have one and it works wicked good on pocket knives
I bought a pair of Crescent Channel (with a comfort grip, 10" and 12"0 for $22, at Home Depot...fuckin' awesome! Can't beat that price - I am a big fan of the crescent hand tools now that they have swallowed up all those brands (Nicholson, Luftkin, Wiss, Etc)
@@MikesToolShed I would compare Crescent's hand tools to Channellock brand, Stanley, Dewalt or Milwaukee - great tools for the price that get the job done and you won't be to pissed if you loose or break them!. I love my 10/12" [Insert unnamed german brand here] cobras (and linesman) but if I loose them, they break or get stolen, I refuse to buy another pair...Thanks again Mike!
Wait i though its this brand we dont say the knipex out loud because theres a shit storm in the comments Also yall lucky i aint laid off but had my pay cut in half because of this mexican beer flu
Oh my God he said the brand name. He said he wouldn't say it ever again but he said Knipex.
Lol, that was my "how long ya been here" test, u passed
"Kanipehx"
He is back!
And he is baitin‘
All is good now
Channelock = domestically made. Crescent = Chyna
Haven’t missed a day, been super fortunate. I’m essential just like the greeter at Walmart
At that moment, i didn't consider country of origin, would have been a more difficult choice

I was thinking about that right after i got done filming this
Good to see you making a video again. Stay safe out there.
Great video as always. Hope to see more as often as you can.

Same issue with the knob on out van. Fixed it with a pair of vice grips.
Good to see you doing alright man hope to see more vids soon!

Laid off, broke, no unemployment, drinking cheap beer and studying for my test.
Glad you're doing well these days
Dude, hang in there, everything has to bounce back at some point. As a country, we've never failed to bounce back after hardships.

Thats the same shit the owner of my company does, he'd rather us mulch his flower beds than lay anyone off
Good video mike
Smart! 👍

Was supose to start my electrical apprenticeship for a. Big electrical company. In ny last week and bc of this bs I can't do it now
I enjoyed my version 1 speaker, had to bump up to the DeWalt tough system radio. Glad you put a new video up

Glad you’re doing well enough during this pandemic. The toughest part has been home schooling the kids. But,, we’re hanging in there brother.
Thats good to hear man
Van tour asap!!! thx!
One thing I miss about Electrical Construction is getting to buy cool new tools. Now I work for a utility and they provide all my hand and power tools and I’m not supposed to use my tools.
Well it sucks but it is what it is, glad to see you make a video
I’m one of the lucky ones in telecom and obviously essential. Used to commute into Manhattan and working from home.
I've seen footage of manhateen (louis rossman) and its crazy how dead NY is
Really wish the pass thru had a ground. Can see people bending and/or breaking the ground pin off of tool leads and extension cords.
Well now we talkin’
Nice find! Congratulations 😎
I'm thinking it may be a $10 handle and a $170 commission to the sales tool truck?
🤣🤣 pro tip. cranked the knob off my van. Put a door knob on it
Man I missed your videos
Nice 6 bay charger
I do wood work in my shop by myself 12-14 hours a day so nothing has changed so far
New van tour?
The GC out here want to try and plan the next 2 years this week or next, been to 4 construction meetings about every week.
That sucks, at least your working though

Where did you buy the speaker for $30?
The wife and I have been fortunate enough that we can afford to not work for a substantial amount of time. I'm still itching to get back to work though. Although, sleeping in till whenever the hell I feel like getting up is nice too
Yep, it's a Chevy thing 😎
On your veto tech xl video you were worried about people taking your sharpies, now you’re bringing in a 5 battery charger. Dude you’re gonna paranoid, you won’t get any work done 😁
Not affected me any in north carolina.
I have an ICU nurse so they tell me I’m essential. Work sucks, but it could be a lot worse.
Hanging in Mike...I am essential health care. At the pharmacy we have taken a hit in business and reduced hours
Yeah, stopping by the pharmacy for my mother, I've noticed they are dead, never a wait though
What's up Mike hows the electrical business over there?
(I get to that at the end, it's ok, i comment at the beginning of videos too)
TFW your chevy work van has power windows....
Man, stereo audio is a dying format it seems.
How are you all gonna make me wanna buy a new pair of channellocks that i dont need?😂😂 also the lansky sharpener is badass. I have one and it works wicked good on pocket knives
I'm getting so much overtime at work.

@@MikesToolShed I live in California and drive a diesel I saw it at $2.19 and nearly shit myself.
