General rule of thumb with big cams is to raise the idle rpm or advance timing so it doesn't misfire as much at idle. Really aggressive cams sound like that because it's actually misfiring at idle due to the aggressive overlap (There's more in-depth reading on this subject online). If you want more lopey sound, lower your idle rpm back to stock and see how it sounds/drives
I am checking out a 99 silverado tomorrow. 5.3 swapped, 4L80E, turbo, stage 3 cam, but I love Squarebody and OBS, But 99 has a nice style too. Maybe i will love it. This thing gets it!
