Thank you
I've had to get your book waiting a week for a next installment was killing me. Honestly I was involved in a fatal ten years ago n despite it being the fault of the driver in front I'll always live with the guilt of the family's grief. Your experiences are nothing in comparison but I definitely have a much greater respect for the traffic officer who dealt with our fatal investigation after hearing what you guy go through daily.
justy a idea but what about setting up a discord server theres alot of US police discords like donut operator and angry cops but not so much for the uk crowd
side note: discord is a free voice and test chat program where you can make servers for a particular topic interest or just collection of people to hangout chat share stories have a laugh and so on its a excelent way to stay engaged with your community because you get a direct line of communication to them as well as the chance to interact with them hanging out in text or voice chat or sharing updates anouncements maybe get feedback or request topics
now you have a patreon you can even use the patreon integration to automatically assign a special role to your patrons so you can give them more perks like special patron only Q&A sessions and such
it can also serve as a place for other Law enforcement or emergency service personel to come hangout as a common place
the lads who do your filming should be able to hook it up but if you do need help give a shout id be glad to help you get it up and running and setup for you
Do a video on the funniest public interactions you’d had
Stinger... "The Hedgehogs Revenge"
Go to the motorway and stand by the barrier ... DONT DO THIS😂😂😂😂😂 Brilliant video Ben!!
I do heed Mr Pearson's "DON'T DO THIS" warnings.
Made me chuckle when he realised what he was saying, haha, you can see the cogs backpedal hahah
In all seriousness have you considered being a guest on car throttle podcast?
That'd be good to catch.
Who loves police interceptors
I do
I started off on a show called coppers which was a groundbreaking piece of TV at the time 😂, then went to traffic cops and currently watching interceptors and bodycam cops
Police under attack is also good. Scary but good
Not the crims haha
Coppers was so funny but first series off 999 what's your emergency from blackpool police was also a funny one 😂
The infamous “Hedgehogs revenge” pin badge 😂
Shame they don’t give you multiple badges when you get the Marked ARV behind when you haven’t pulled it back in quick enough
If you go to the Northwest 200, Isle of Man TT or Ulster GP and lie in the grass verge the feeling of having superbikes blasting past at anything up to 200mph, a handful of feet away from you is absolutely mad. It's like how you describe a crook's car speeding past. You feel the energy travel right through your whole body and at first the usual reaction is involuntary laughter.
I experienced getting stingered in 1997. I "borrowed" my mums car one night. She woke up and noticed it gone and reported it stolen. I got chased and as the traffic cars were keeping up with me, which surprised me as I was in a mighty Peugeot 106 1.4 diesel, I decided that I would have to outsmart them instead. I noticed a traffic car sitting at the entrance of a filling station. I knew exactly what he was up to, so I turned off before getting there. I went round in a big circle and went back in that direction. HAHA, the traffic car was gone. Unfortunately, the copper with the stinger wasn't. I got about 400 yards before getting boxed in and brought to a stop. Every single window in my mums car got smashed in and I got dragged out. She wasn't best pleased with the police for doing that to her car. She was absolutely fuming 😂
Note to kids: If the police tell you to stop, STOP! It's really not worth it 👍
Screw the penalties and prosecution, an upset mother is FAR worse!
@@RedHeadForester It was for the poor coppers that had to fill her in on what happened to her car. I was lucky, I got sent to prison 😂
@@mrade5321
"Good news Mrs Ade, we've recovered your car, and all it needs is fully re-glazing, four new tyres, and a bloody good scrub thanks to your son shitting himself as it dawned on him how his mother was going to boot his arse up and down the street..."
Plus ask mum/leave a note? Doh!
Haha, all I can say to get the feeling is to do this - *Don’t do this* - but it’s like doing that. Priceless.
Great series Ben - you can literally see the damage and pain in your eyes buddy. My father was medically pensioned out of Merseyside Traffic in 1983 after 22yrs in the job - when it was embarrassing and known as a ‘mental breakdown’ then ‘nervous breakdown’ neither of which helped, and there was no counselling either - so he self medicated. Back then they used Range Rovers for the motorway, the old style P6 Rovers (his favourite, took his own Dad out to show him what 100mph felt like) predecessor to the Rover 3500’s which I don’t think he drove.
Companies were ageist back then as well, so aged 56 in 1990, a washed up Army veteran and LSGC Traffic Bobby with numerous commendations, decided to vacate the planet, and as a veteran myself, I can say without any doubt that without help, I’d probably have done the same. It’s a deep dark abyss and you don’t know the person you’ve become, he’s more like they guys you’d take the piss out of for being a knacker, a useless biff etc.
Best wishes on your journey to recovery my friend, it’s a long road, and you won’t be the same man you were beforehand - you’ll be stronger in many ways, you’ll be happy again, but the imprints from your backpack will always be there, like the slideshow of images. Make sure you just stay true to yourself and honest with those around you and you will bounce back mate, broken, beaten and scarred, but still you; older and wiser. Keep doing these videos, you’ll be helping proud men to break their silence and admit defeat, you’ll be saving lives’ - serving and protecting. It’s admirable Ben. Best wishes pal 😉👍
I actually met the guy who invented the stinger. He showed me all his design and inventions, aswell as a few covert type stingers he’d created down the years. To top it off he gave me a stinger hedgehog badge which I showed to a few of the traffic guys that visit our compound from time to time, they told me the significance of the badge and were jealous I had one
Happy Friday everyone. Have a blessed weekend! Great way to kick it off with a Ben video 👍🏻❤️
Reading the book and this flashes up as a bonus, we need more videos off ben watching interceptors please
8:17 - that sudden realization - "don't do this" hahaha! Epic videos! Please keem them coming!
No Stingers when I was in the job in the 1980s.
We used to keep half bricks in the patrol car and would wait
when there was a chase for the stolen car and brick the windscreen
hoping it would crash. Not easy to hit a moving car travelling at about 100mph
2/3 of the way through i get an advert for tyres by Michelin... how fitting XD
Side note: When conducting impromptu “mock pursuit” for training purposes during nightshift, be sure to notify all neighbouring divisions to avoid well intentioned but unnecessary deployment of Stop Stick (Stingers cousin), resulting in 4 new tyres for the unmarked and subsequent ridicule.
Every week when I'm finishing work I always get a new episode, thanks so much, Ben
Just marvelous to watch! So glad that I found your channel after watching just about every Interceptor episode that I have been able to find on youtube over the past few years!!
Another top class video mate looking forward to hearing more stories in the coming weeks!
Brilliant content, always look forward to seeing the notification on my phone

Top stuff again mate, fantastic!
Another quality couple of stories! Brilliant copper
Really love these videos, just need more!
Absolute love the videos, Ben
Wauw, again such much reactions, wonderful for the both of you :) :)
Sounds like a tough call - but a worthwhile buzz to get right when you’re in the thick of it ? Brave stuff for sure. Thanx for sharing. Cheers 🍻
That's so cool. Thanks Ben🚔
Another amazing post by Big Ben. Fridays will forever be Benday 🔥🔥🔥
Stingers are my favorite piece of equipment thanks for doing a vid on them :)
I'm not saying we'll pay for a new set of tyres...
If you sting my car and I've done nothing wrong that's probably the bare minimum...
Absolutely brilliant Ben what a brilliant story. Fantastic Job Ben keep it up. The stinger is certainly a fantastic piece of kit. Another fantastic vid Ben these videos are getting more and more interesting. 👊💪👍
Love your videos and thank you for keeping us safe, I live in one of the areas you keep mentioning and think I met you one time. I will always stop and help police when I can, I have 3 German shepherds and a Belgian shepherd you will know how handy they are. My close has had no burglaries in the last 12 years since I have had my dogs and the fools that tried to break in my back door ran away like little girls. They were out of sight by the time I got to the bathroom window. Rocky had steak for his tea. Ben you have made me laugh and I have cried with you. I would love to share a pint or a brew with you and thanks again for what you did. Police and all the services are hero’s and should be respected as such.
Of course it’s hedgehog with coppers cap sounds like the most English medal that can be received 😂
Congratulations on 1 Million Streams😎Keep the content coming!
get so excited when you put out a new vid mate!
Fab video as always ❤️
Ben, 2 stinger badges in one week? You are good! Thanks for your brilliant channel, you are a great inspiration, take care, keep the stories coming! 💕
Great video ben.
Yes must agree regards standing near fast moving cars, I've no dought it's a spectical. The first time I stood watching a car on a rolling road gave me the willies. Cheers for another vid.
Another banger, keep em coming 👌
Always good videos mate top job ... keep.it going
Ben, maybe you should get a Blue Peter Badge to accompany those stinger badges for all the good work you did ;-)
Great video Ben , always exiting to see the stinger videos on Police Interceptors. Thanks to you tooJosh
🙌 :)
When watching interceptors i really enjoyed your segments. Sad to see you have left the force, but glad you are still entertaining! Top bloke Ben top bloke!
I love your land sharks with 2 settings search and intimate.
I had a German Sheppard but she was a big baby.
Love these videos! xx
great story Ben
Great video again brother! Remember my first 'HOSTYD' deployment that I truly balls'd up! Pursuit commander was the RPU Chief Inspector. Like an arse I was a bit slow in recoiling the spikes and well and truly messed up all four tyres of the fleets brand new T5! No stinger badge for me. Got to wipe the CI's arse for the next 6 months though! Stay well my friend.
It sounds like quite an art to deploy!
I was once told a story, by the person involved, that he was the first person to have all 4 of his tyres deflated by a stinger in this particular forces area, luckily it was his employers car, unluckily the car had the word police in several places on the outside and a blue lights on the roof, apparently the pursuit passed him again whilst he was awaiting recovery.
Great video as usual Ben.
Visit the TT on isle of man and feel them going past at 180 plus on sulby straight .
Great adrenaline rush if you like bikes and speed.
Best wishes and keep up the great work 👍
wonderful video
Who needs a Blue Peter badge when you can have a Stinger badge (or 5). Brilliant as always Ben. Brightened up my Friday 👍🏻
See a quality police camera action style video yesterday, someone deployed a stinger across the outside lane of a duel carriageway while the inside lane had a massive amount of nothing so the car had loads of trouble driving round it and then when they deployed it a second time and managed to sting it, the copper must of been so pleased to get his badge that he left it there.
There’s too much negativity about the police these days and your channel shows the other side to that, it’s refreshing.
Ayy up Ben Another good un.hope you are ok stay safe,And see you next time
Ben fantastic bud. Becoming my favourite RUclipsr.
Love watching this 😍
Hi great channel and fantastic story's. iv been pulled a few times and you sound suoer chilled . ready to catch real bad guys and reasonable with normal civilians. i honestly think the newer generation are lacking people skills like this . id really like you to do a few days a month teaching public liaisons. i think its needed and urgently. i have huge respect for the way you have served us all . and put your life on the line many times . and obviously seen horrific things . i hope they dont taught you and im glad to see you getting it out and making ot exciting and fun . your one of the good guys .
also do you do private security and driving courses . thanks
Love the Slinky analogy 😁
Loving it 'big ben'
Deployed on a stolen ambulance once, loved them much more so than the stop sticks!
YES BEN ANOTHER ONE 👍👍👍
You are fabulous wish you could come to Pueblo and work.
Really enjoy these videos. Honestly could listen to Ben’s stories for days and not get bored. It’s as if I’m there when he tells them👏🏼
Another brilliant video! This is how my Friday nights are 🙌🏻🤣 Ps I want a hedgehog badge 🙄
Amazing hope you ok Ish after leaving police Ben 👮🏻♂️
Could sit and listen to your story any day mate...
Somewhere on here there's a clip from New Zealand of an officer who didn't pull the stinger back and popped a police car and a member of the public's car!
Boss job but can totally see why you have PTSD, ya a good man Ben! 💚✌️ Thank you for everything..
Great story again.
The only shocking part for me was when Ben mentioned someone had stolen an Insignia. What a waste of a crime.
I was waiting for Ben to say "why on earth they would steal an insignia i will never know"
Nobody could tell you anything that week of the double header! All of a sudden you're a silverback! Great stories Ben.
Brilliant
Such a natural story teller, keep these videos coming Ben.
Not wrong about the sharpness of the stinger we used it setting up vehicle check points in the army, ours didn't come with the covers though, can still remember my finger pissing blood 😑
I live in East Anglia, Ben, and we have no motorways so unfortunately, I will never get the opportunity to stand on the edge of a motorway to experience near death first hand. I do ride a motorcycle, though and I don't think I'd fancy getting done by a stinger while riding one.
Haha, you crack me up, Ben. "Don't do this" - Properly made me laugh
Last x2 videos great Ben. Your violent offenders one resonated with the stories I've heard from family members both in WYP and indeed relatives in Cleveland Police. It's a nice de ja vous if you get me. The stinger bit is a favourite of mine esp when the offender(s) think they are going to get away after being stung when they couldn't get away prior to the stinger being deployed! Muppets! Great insight as ever. Take care, and I await the next one. Any thoughts on the Line of Duty cliffhanger? Are you a fan or avoid Police drama due to your own experiences? Be careful out there. 🚌🚍🚔🚓 Ben.
Worked at British Superbikes for a while, the first time you hang out over the pit wall with the board for your rider and the entire grid come past at race pace its a massive rush, god knows what it feels like when you haven’t got the luxury of a pit wall between you and them...😬
I love the little badge 😘
Absolutely obsessed with police interceptors, and even more obsessed with this channel. Applied to be a special last week (failed...but that won't stop me yet!), hoping to be able to work alongside amazing people. Always look forward to new videos, mixture of laughter and truth, and great production value. Good going, Ben!
so there's a new invention in the orients that fills any punctures of your tires automatically in an emergency. Good luck with them stingers
There's no way I could ever get through police training, but I sooo want a hedgehog Stinger badge to add to my collection!
Go, but don't go. I've heard that before... didn't boris tell us this recently? Go to the pub, but don't go to the pub 😂😂 love the videos, need more though, fantastic stuff.
Do you have a book?
Great video.the stingers are made of titanium tube so could probably stop a panzer..keep them coming.veiws on motorcycle cops?..
A good comparison for a car passing at speed is go visit a WRC stage as you can be metres away from cars passing you at 90+ MPH and get the same feeling of the ground shaking and the noise of an approaching vehicle flat out
It’s exhilarating but don’t stand that close to a wrc car it’s dangerous to spectators and distracting to drivers it puts peoples lives at risk, been going to the wrc for 15 years and it’s always idiots standing in stupid places getting to close that cause stages to be cancelled ruining everyone’s day
Looks quite difficult to master though, seen it loads of times on Interceptors, I take it they work just as good on trucks as well, thinking of the size and number of tyres 😄xx
Brilliant to hear! I’m the designated stinger officer! The adrenaline hit is off the scale! Thank you for sharing your stories! Keep them going awesome!
If Joe public goes over a stinger by mistake, do they get a hedgehog badge? Hedgehog could be crying with a line of flat spines along its back!
Hello from Ireland Ben, I am a big fan of the traffic cops, and became an even bigger fan of your videos.
I am interested to know what would happen in the situation where stinger is deployed but the car is equipped with runflat tyres, would those tyres make any difference in comparison to normal tyres?
Keep safe and continue with the great videos that you are making.
It would still work but not bring the car to a stop. But the run flats run on the side walls, so the car wouldn’t steer correctly and struggle at high speeds x
Think it would be a good episode if you explain all the badges and a few of you’re story’s to go with each :)
Oooh a show and tell! I like that idea.
Ben yet again a great video . I was once at BRI and a stinger was deployed , wider than i thought too . Keep the stories coming . Im half way threw your book a great read x
Woohoo another vid
Thanks for these Videos, Ben. I've watched alot now, ranging from the "fun" stories from the job, to the talks about mental health and the experiences that led you to who you are today. It's absolutely inspiring to see someone talk so openly about some things that are so incredibly difficult to talk about. It goes to show that Police Interceptors is great as entertainment, but really it doesn't tell us anything about the REAL-LIFE effects of being in the police. Keep up the good work; I will be watching! If I could ask you one question, what was the happiest day of your policing career? You've said before about certain cases that made you feel satisfied, but what was your best day? I'd love to see a video about that! :) All the best, Dan
Wish I could do this
Hi Ben, love your channel!👍
How do you feel about the Horrific death on PC Andrew Harper after he was killed on duty and what are your thoughts on the sentencing his killers received?
Thats always funny when the cop throws it and the crim dodges it and it takes out the first pursuit car ;)
Could you ever use a stinger in a built up area such as a high street or would it be more risk obviously with pedestrians or risk the vehicle escaping if you let it drive on?
