I'm spending the holidays in New Jersey! This leads up to literally the day before the war in Israel broke out. It's a little surreal to watch it now. I really wanted to share with you though. Share with you what a large Jewish community is like in the United States. I really enjoyed going to the Judaica stores, the modest clothing shops, and the giant kosher grocery store! Seeing my family was wonderful as well of course. Having my family around for the holidays is the best!

Thank you for showing this most beautiful video to your channel family. I’m not someone who would be a typical viewer. I’m 70 yo, Christian and just started watching you about a year ago. Your videos are educational, informative, and very interesting. Your love of your family and your faith is admirable. I have so much respect for your method of homeschooling and rearing of your children. I’m so very sad that you’re having to deal with prejudice and hate. It hurts me to know you have to explain this to your children. My pastor has repeatedly told us recently to pray for peace. We support all Jews all over the world and any innocent people caught in the crossfire. May I suggest when you’re having a difficult day, to watch this video. It’s so filled with light and love. Also, I also try to read the Psalms when I am discouraged. I’ll be praying for you and yours. Chana, you’re a valuable treasure and I’m so very happy to have found your channel.

Don’t feel guilt for posting happy content. That’s what those evil people wanted to do to us - to traumatize us and to take away our happiness and joy in Judaism! But they are not going to and you’re helping all of us to keep the spirits up and to continue to celebrate our beautiful faith. So thank you for that!

I feel numb and sickened too after what happened in Israel. I think of it everyday. I am not Jewish, nor do I know many Jews...just a suburban mom from Melbourne, Australia but gosh at the end of the day we are all humans living together on a tiny, fragile blue planet in a big universe. If only everyone realised the fragility and beauty of life and how we are one species. Love and hugs to you.

Chana you have not cultivated a following like this because any of us question your motives or appropriateness in any area of Jewish life. We know you are sharing your real life, and you should be proud of the lovely time you spent with family over the high holidays. So thank you for sharing it during this distressful time. You are a reliable friend we can turn to for a brief respite from our grief over what’s happening. I for one am so glad you went ahead with releasing this video! Please ask Mr. FIREFLY to give you an extra hug for me! Be well and focus on baby firefly and the bigger firefly kids. You are loved. You are thought of!

I decided to walk to the store today. I try to do this a couple of times each week because the exercise is really good and I love talking to our neighbors. I'm not used to telling anyone when I come and go. My husband happened to call while I was on my way home and became really worried. It's not something I even thought about because I have always felt safe here. He requested that from this time forward that I drive, check in with him and use the buddy system. I don't think I really ever thought about my safety as much as I've had to and it's scary.

I felt like this all during our most recent wars. Our sons dying, being permanently injured. Heartbreaking and it was isolating for military families because everyone else was ... "taking trips to Disney" and carrying on their lives as normal. Its a very isolating feeling when youre enraged, confused, and personally affected by something when others dont seem to be. I support you and am equally speechless, as ive been so often before.

I let them know that it is IMPOSSIBLE to hate Jews and love God! I also let them know that God said He will bless those who bless Israel and He will curse those who curse Jews. The room got VERY quiet! I have contacted my Representative and let her know that I expect her to support ALL help for Israel. I think you made the right choice, both to show the original cheerful videos and to frame that content. It may seem as though this isn't the time for anything lighthearted, but when things are at their worst, when your world has been turned upside down and inside, when you're broken hearted and everything looks dark, that's when you most need something lighthearted. It gives you a timeout from suffering. It reminds you that there are good things in the world.
You don't see the light of one small candle when the sun is shining. But when the world is dark, a little light can make all the difference.
So go ahead and remind your friends of good and happy times.
Also, consider that the best antidote for prejudice and bigotry is getting to know people personally. So the work you do in letting people get to know you as an orthodox Jew is very important, especially now. There may be people hearing antisemitic propaganda, who might believe "Jews do this or Jews are that," because they don't know any Jews well, but now they know Chana, because they tuned in for a gluten-free recipe and got interested in your life. So now they think, wait, Chana's not like that; Chana is like me in a lot of ways. And they don't accept the antisemitic bilge. Or there may be people who wouldn't care what happens to Jews, but they do care what happens to Chana, because you have put a face on what was just an abstract to them.
Don't doubt that what you do makes a difference, even when you don't see it.
The world is becoming a smaller place, in part because with Internet content like RUclips, we learn about the lives of people we will never meet.
I'm sorry this is happening. I'm sorry for the harm and sorrow it's caused. I'm sorry for your pain. You aren't alone. People care.

I am grateful for your content; I have been a viewer for years. I am not Jewish. I love to learn from people about other religions and cultures. I have learned so much from you. For that I say thank you. Watching what is happening in Israel is heart wrenching. I seems unbelievable, I will never understand how people can do this to one another. I was so sad and angry to hear that in your own neighborhood your family is dealing with Anti-Semitic people. When they should be supporting and comforting your family at this time. I am so sorry for this. I know it must be so hard and frustrating but not all of us are like those people. I can't imagine as parents how frighting this is for your children and the struggle to explain all of this including your neighborhood to them. Your content is educational, supportive to all mothers and just a upbeat reminder of the positives in life. As hard as it must be at this time, try to keep doing what you have with content. All of your viewers that support you will understand a sad day, an honest day, a happy day and a just being a wife and mother day. Sending you peace and the caring from one person to another.

Chana, have you ever heard of the Five Towns on Long Island in New York? This is primarily a Jewish community as well. Maybe you have to come to live on the east coast lol. I’m not Jewish, but I absolutely enjoy your content. My thoughts and prayers are with Israel 🇮🇱 ❤

You were in my neck of the pods lol. We are in Philadelphia. About an hour or so from Gourmet Glatt. I’m not Jewish but I worked in an Orthodox Jewish Bakery for 10 years. I became like family over the years. Haven’t worked there for 13 years and I REALLY miss it. So exciting to watch you walk through a completely Kosher grocery store.

Chana, we are supposed to be lights to other nations. Keep posting, happy things, be honest with your feelings, even with what is going on in Israel and the world. It is hard, we are so sad and a little scared. Saying tehillim helps a great deal, being with kids and family helps. Watching you tube with you and other Jewish you tubers😮helps a great deal and makesus feel no so much alone

I know the world is in a rough space, but in all honesty, I say keep on sharing the joy you have of being Jewish and living the joy-filled life that comes with it. It’s good to share how Judaism brings joy, love and fulfillment, and provides the world with hope. The world needs to see this and change the hearts of those who’ve been persuaded to think otherwise. You’re amazing, Chana! Keep going! ❤ *hugs*

Fun to see you back in Jersey! Glad I caught this video, I have been so busy lately. I live in Jersey just outside of Manhattan. When you were in Passaic you were probably only a few minutes from me! There is a very large Jewish community nearby, I see the people walking to temple. Glad you and your family had a good time on your trip {at least}.

Please know that while you may feel it's not appropriate or 'right' to post something joyous during this time, I think it helps provide hope. As one commenter stated a distraction. We need to give our minds a little relief from the continuous trauma. Thank you for sharing this video. I loved the farm animals. Also, if there was any doubt about the community your drove through, seeing all of the balcony sukkas made it unmistakable. 🙂 I think I'd want to move there if it meant I could shop with no limit on what I put in my shopping cart! So glad your family was able to celebrate and make these happy memories. You are constantly in my prayers. 💚

I’ve been a faithful viewer and subscriber, too, of course, for a number of years, I’ve lost count but it’s been from your early days on RUclips. I’m missed a few videos over the last year due to an serious automobile accident last Thanksgiving afternoon. I broke my back and incurred a few other injuries taking a year to heal and recover. I’ve occasionally missed your inspiring messages, your organizational skills, the love of your family and your Jewish faith. Blessings to you and all the Fireflies. I’m back on my old schedule now and that includes watching your videos each time they’re uploaded. 💟🇮🇱✡️💟🇮🇱💟✡️🇮🇱💟

Hi Chana, I am happy you posted your video. We must continue even when things are so upside down right now. I am thrilled you had an amazing Holiday (Chag) with your family. Your kids also had special family time with Cousins which is so important! I just heard the city where I was born in was having a Riot today against Israel. I do hope things will be safer very soon.

Let’s say I’ve been “fragile” and seeing your video with beautiful New Jersey all those Jewish stores and neighborhoods I’m in awe like you are and then the petting farm with the kids. It really took my mind off things for a little while. Thank you dear. ❣️
