I had a math teacher in high school who was a retired technical writer, who wrote technical manuals for use by the US Gov. I was a natural in math with B's without actually doing much of the homework, (that was reason for B's instead of A's) and I was impressed by the thoroughness, clarity, and focus on some of the more confusing details of this presentation. After watching this it is almost like I have a new and better camera. So I like the D800 but I am extremely impressed by the tutorial. Really thank you, to the writers, presenters and (I am sure the quality control that went into this tutorial.
I had this camera for about 4 years...was an impulsive buy...now im really interested in learning all the basics..thank yoi so much for this great tutorial
This is without a doubt the best and most detail Camera guide for Camera menus that i have seen so far. Thank you for you knowledge. Would a D800E would have the same menus and is there something else that you would recommend doing? Thank you in advance.
Bought mine second-hand and still only have just over 21000 shots, am just getting into macro. I love being able to use the built-in flash as a commander unit for my SB-910, this allows me to use the flash off camera for more creative shots.
great tutorial the best i must say i’ve watch and search a lot videos about the D800, no annoying and distracting background music but explained calmly and to the point!
I have an opportunity to purchase a used D800 within my budget. I want to use this with my Tamron SP AF200-500mm F/5-6.3 Di LD (IF). This lens does NOT autofocus with my D5300. Will the D800 work with the AF with my Tamron, or should I be looking at another Nikon DSLR for my nature photography needs? Thank you in advance!
I have the D700 and long wanted the D3. After a vacation, walking most of the da with the D700 AND the F6, I realized that I should not go up in weight. I don't use the battery grip anyway on any of my cameras, even I have it for the D700. So I decided to expand the collection with the D800 😊. Only worry is the file size.
I just got a d800. I use cameras to digitize records within an Archives environment. How do I set up the isolated for a fluorescent lighting environment. We are not allowed to use any flash.
I bought used one recently, but I'm having difficulty in focus, when I take half photos they are clear but full ones are not clear. Please advise because I want clear photos
Tiffs are not 8-bit....they are 24 bit, and therefore larger in size with more info...jpegs are 8 bit, and most times compressed and lose info everytime they are handled.....no ?

I haven't finished the video so i don't know if he touches on that:
How do you get the shutter count?
Thank you very much Sir. Got this camera as a used gear. I have learnt new things from you. May God bless you. 🇿🇦

This is an incredibly useful video!
Thank you.
Great tutorial, thank you.
Even in late 2020 this is still a beast that performs impressively with the correct lens.
I agree. I bought mine used 2 years ago for about 600 Euros and as a beginner I think it serves me well.
Same in 2022. Just switched to a similar aged Canon 550D and the quality I could get was stunning for me.
Nice! This video came at the right time!🥳
Excellent review.
2022 and i am with this beast

A camera is best not resting on its back when swapping lenses. The idea is to avoid contact with dust particles.

Half photos? What is this non sense
Dan, try to adjust the viewfinder first with the di-opter and then use AF-S for stationary objects and AF-C "3d" for moving objects.
