I absolutely adore how Shang-Chi’s theme is a juxtaposition of his inheritance. His dark and light, Yin and Yang. The strings at 0:02 embody his mom’s side, graceful and full of life. It gives you a sense of flying (like his mom when she fights). Whereas the brass at 0:12 resembles his father’s strength. It resonates sovereignty and power, a beautiful contrast to his mother’s peaceful side. Shang-Chi was everything I wanted as a person of Asian descent, and this theme complimented the film perfectly! Go watch!!!

The Avenger’s theme coming in at 2:19 just does something to my soul. This movie is breathtaking and I can’t wait to see Shang-Chi team up with the remaining Avengers!

No you not slow at all, just went and saw it a second time in theatres tonight and only caught it this time. Maybe thought I caught it the first time, but no. One of my absolute favorite scenes out of all MCU, that and when the Great Protector comes to rescue him out of the water....
The dad was my favourite character, and in his final moments when he transferred the rings? Chef’s kiss! He didn’t have to do that, it was unexpected but he saw his wife in his son, as well as a fitting heir.
His character was phenomenally written. Realizing he messed up and understood what his family was actually fighting to preserve. The love he had for his family took over as he made the decision to pass on his rings because he knew that with Shang Chi’s combination of his mother’s moves and his father tenacity, that’s he will be the one to save his families legacy. Just a beautiful movie, really taking the roots of most Asian films. I’m just in so much awe every time I see this movie and think about it. It sounds so stupid, but this movie really makes me proud to be Asian.

If only Hollywood would understand that, you have so many movies that has learnt not to mess with a good character of a movie especially when it's the key to a great movie for example, star wars, superman, not that crap man of steel, back to the future with out the sound score in the sequels of those movies they would not be as epic as the first. Look at bad boys the first one , what an amazing score and yet in 2 and 3 they missed out on how impactful a great score is, if they will only stop messing with perfection.
I think the sadest part of his character was seeing how much of a loving father he was when his wife was alive he really did change and he was happy. And in the end you see that while yes he trained Shang Chi, it was mainly to prevent him from having the same fate as his wife and Shang Chi agreed to the training.

If I'm not wrong @ 1:20 (not that it is) its a bit of a Guardians riff from their theme in there. So so dope though to have the Avengers theme nod in it is just chef kiss.
I honestly didn’t expect to be so blown away with this movie but boy did it prove me wrong! The visuals, the fighting sequences, the story, the MUSIC, all was just so amazing and glorious! I really like the music in the MCU but this movie had one of the best soundtracks I have heard from the MCU so far! It just game me chills and gave me quite an inspiration boost, seeing I was pretty bumped out before watching the movie. This movie is by far at the top of my favorite MCU films!
fighting choreography was absolutely insane in this movie, honestly the best out of every marvel movie as of right now. but martial arts is just so badass to watch.

It was refreshing (a lot like Black Panther was) with new settings, the humor was on point and not too overdone AND the fact that there was no romantic interests gave it more space to focus on the family drama :') Also didn't expect the final battle to be like it was, but it was done well!
From 0:00-2:40, it's like a training montage as the character or characters are learning to perfected their fighting styles or how to control their powers to prepare for a big threat that's coming. 2:40-3:36 then the music slow down as a love began to blossom during training giving the main character more motivation to continue and now have something to come back to once the threat is defeated. 3:38 the threat is here and the character is ready to do battle.
Marvel rarely miss with the main theme. Shang-Chi and Black Panther themes really capture their cultural aspects. Also Doctor Strange with mystical vibe and Captain America with patriotic vibe.
It's too bad the movies/shows these days aren't matching the effort put into the themes. Secret Invasion is the latest example of that; an epic storyline reduced to a Nick Fury side quest with an AMAZING opening theme.
As a Taiwanese, I was totally amazed and touched when watching the movie! This theme is such an epic! It combines the elements of “Yin” and “Yang” in Chinese culture and reflects Shang-Chi’s personality which also combines his father and mother’s characters - the former is strength, and the latter is grace. A masterpiece !
I’m also Taiwanese and very impressed with the choreography, music, the story and every small detail that the movie brought to us! This is the movie that unites the Asians together in such a time as this and helps to bring forth a sense of oneness!

The movie was so good. The Mandrin is probably on my top 5 marvel villains and him and Shang Chi have one of the best hero villain dynamics of any marvel movie with the exception of Thor and Loki

This is absolutely off the charts. My fiancé and I saw it yesterday and both agreed that it was instantly in our top five Marvel films (possibly higher pending more viewings). One huge thing for me was Joel P West's score. It was perfect. Your edit of the main theme is simply amazing. Well done sir. Very, very well done.
Shang Chi was one of the most fantastical movies I've ever watched! Especially when they get to Ta Lo. They really did a great job with encapsulating the magic and wonder of Chinese myth with the Nine-tailed foxes, the sabertooth lion things and the FRICKEN DRAGON at the end! I love this movie and I definitely will be getting it in DVD

To be honest you can find lots of anime, video games and other properties in the movie….I could see Pokémon, Digimon, Final Fantasy, Tekken, Yugioh, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Naruto and other references in the movie….
I hope I wasn’t the only one paying attention when Shang-Chi’s motif played while you first see Wen-Wu stepping out of the helicopter. It’s almost as if it started out as his Father’s theme, but at the end of the movie he takes the best parts of his parents and makes it his own. I guess that’s why this theme only plays at the climax of the movie and after he obtains the ten rings. Shang-chi made it his own.
This is so good! Watched it yesterday and it was SO AMAZING!!! Sure, it has the typical MCU weaknesses, but at the same time so many distinct strength - the choreography, the action sequences (OMG!), the cinematography and the absolutely breathtaking soundtrack. I expected a lot and got way more
The theme perfectly represents a hero, who is surrounded by the shadows and darkness of his past and one who rise above all the expectations to become a Superhero.
Damn, that new avatar for Sam (Bottom left of video) looks phenomenal! And the theme orchestration is (Chef’s kiss) Magnifeque! There’s just too much to love from this! AAAGH!!
I have failed to understand the element of fiction in Marvel movies. They have done an incredible job at everything the put out, and it only makes me wonder what else could be out there in our universe? The stories they tell, the visuals, all synthesized with it's corresponding music releases the energy needed to make it seem all real. What else is out there? The connections between Shang-Chi and Black Panther have made my heart sink in awe. Music, racial background, mythical and beautiful places that are made to seem fictional still makes me wonder how little we know of. The world as we know is barely a tiny fraction of the known universe and beyond. I wish that these tales were true, these beautiful places, stories, and connections were all present in our lives. Unfortunately, it is only words I can portray upon the world. Maybe one day, the world will reveal itself. Thank you and congratulations to everyone behind Shang-Chi. Once again Marvel, you leave me completely lost in thoughts. My soul fractures in curiousness upon your touch. Thank you.

@@nguyenhoa5409 Honestly, yeah. It's unfair to compare the two. Shang Chi has MUCH more heart and the only thing they have in common is being Wuxian-esque movies. Simu is also incredibly charismatic in and outside the film.
The fight scenes mainly the hand to hand martial arts is some of the best choreography and cinematography I’ve seen. This is what I wanted out of black widow and Mulan. And a lot of other mcu projects. And I’m into the Chinese Asian martial arts films as well as Adkins and jai white stuff too. And this stuff was just mind blowing. Props to the stunt director and rip. As he died after production finished. Disappointing tho with current mcu in general. After infinity war and then the fan service endgame. It seems mcu films are all the same. I wish they did more fight scenes like martial arts at the end rather than a big cgi fight. Same with black widow 🤦♂️ and unfortunately. Black panther action was a big big letdown. We need more practical stunts like these and creative cinematography (Shang vs death dealer and Mandrian killing those gang members.)
If you watch the fight scenes in the trailer in slow motion you can see that they actually make contact when fighting, which makes it look a lot more real and fluid I think. It's impressive. I can't wait to see this movie in theaters.

This is absolutely off the charts. My fiancé and I saw it yesterday and both agreed that it was instantly in our top five Marvel films (possibly higher pending more viewings). One huge thing for me was Joel P West's score. It was perfect. Your edit of the main theme is simply amazing. Well done sir. Very, very well done.

Shang Chi was one of the most fantastical movies I've ever watched! Especially when they get to Ta Lo. They really did a great job with encapsulating the magic and wonder of Chinese myth with the Nine-tailed foxes, the sabertooth lion things and the FRICKEN DRAGON at the end! I love this movie and I definitely will be getting it in DVD

To be honest you can find lots of anime, video games and other properties in the movie….I could see Pokémon, Digimon, Final Fantasy, Tekken, Yugioh, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Naruto and other references in the movie….
I hope I wasn’t the only one paying attention when Shang-Chi’s motif played while you first see Wen-Wu stepping out of the helicopter. It’s almost as if it started out as his Father’s theme, but at the end of the movie he takes the best parts of his parents and makes it his own. I guess that’s why this theme only plays at the climax of the movie and after he obtains the ten rings. Shang-chi made it his own.

This is so good! Watched it yesterday and it was SO AMAZING!!! Sure, it has the typical MCU weaknesses, but at the same time so many distinct strength - the choreography, the action sequences (OMG!), the cinematography and the absolutely breathtaking soundtrack. I expected a lot and got way more

The theme perfectly represents a hero, who is surrounded by the shadows and darkness of his past and one who rise above all the expectations to become a Superhero.
Honestly the fighting with the father and mother was on point! 😭 and the rest of it was amazing. Definitely 10/10

I have failed to understand the element of fiction in Marvel movies. They have done an incredible job at everything the put out, and it only makes me wonder what else could be out there in our universe? The stories they tell, the visuals, all synthesized with it's corresponding music releases the energy needed to make it seem all real. What else is out there?
The connections between Shang-Chi and Black Panther have made my heart sink in awe. Music, racial background, mythical and beautiful places that are made to seem fictional still makes me wonder how little we know of. The world as we know is barely a tiny fraction of the known universe and beyond. I wish that these tales were true, these beautiful places, stories, and connections were all present in our lives. Unfortunately, it is only words I can portray upon the world. Maybe one day, the world will reveal itself.
Thank you and congratulations to everyone behind Shang-Chi. Once again Marvel, you leave me completely lost in thoughts. My soul fractures in curiousness upon your touch. Thank you.

@@nguyenhoa5409 Honestly, yeah. It's unfair to compare the two. Shang Chi has MUCH more heart and the only thing they have in common is being Wuxian-esque movies. Simu is also incredibly charismatic in and outside the film.
The fight scenes mainly the hand to hand martial arts is some of the best choreography and cinematography I’ve seen. This is what I wanted out of black widow and Mulan. And a lot of other mcu projects. And I’m into the Chinese Asian martial arts films as well as Adkins and jai white stuff too. And this stuff was just mind blowing. Props to the stunt director and rip. As he died after production finished.
Disappointing tho with current mcu in general. After infinity war and then the fan service endgame. It seems mcu films are all the same. I wish they did more fight scenes like martial arts at the end rather than a big cgi fight. Same with black widow 🤦♂️ and unfortunately. Black panther action was a big big letdown. We need more practical stunts like these and creative cinematography (Shang vs death dealer and Mandrian killing those gang members.)

If you watch the fight scenes in the trailer in slow motion you can see that they actually make contact when fighting, which makes it look a lot more real and fluid I think. It's impressive. I can't wait to see this movie in theaters.

Just seen the movie days ago and aside from being right up there with "Black Panther" the music score also fits the movie perfectly!
