I got my MT10 recently. I noticed a slight difference when I am shifting. Sometimes changing a gear is smooth as butter, sometimes it feel's a little bit harder. Did you experience the same?
Hello mate, it happens to me, as well. I think it depends on a lot of different things: gearbox temp, engine speed, the load on the engine + gearbox, adjustment of your clutch cable etc. For me, it's always the least smooth when everything is cold, or at low engine speeds. When everything is warmed up _and_ I'm really pushing on (such as track day conditions or above 7k rpm) it's ultra quick and smooth. Worth mentioning: before my bike was stolen, I had the ECU remapped and the shift quality was a lot more consistent in all conditions. As a result of the theft, I needed to replace the ECU, but I will be getting it remapped again, because it makes the MT-10 into the bike it was always meant to be...
I'm a little confused; you downshift without the clutch so that makes me think you've got a blipper/downshifter installed. But then why would you rev-match manually as the blipper does the rev-match for you? Or.. you don't have a blipper and you actually downshift without a clutch and by rev-match alone, then mate, you've got some b*lls of steel!!
No auto-blipper, I've got to do it manually! The mechanics of it is pretty sound, but the trick is to get the timing of your blip + downshift just right: The 'blip' has to be very quick and decisive (meaning the throttle is completely shut immediately after your blip) with the downshift happening a split second after you start the blip. If you also put a bit of gentle pressure on the shift lever a moment before you shift down, it falls into the lower gear with almost no effort. If you can already rev match your downshifts while using the clutch, then you're actually most of the way to being able to do it without the clutch.
Beautiful riding, beautiful bike, awesome sound! May I ask what exhaust system you're using?
Thanks very much! I'm running stock headers with a Black Widow link pipe and an SP Engineering SC-1 Carbon Extreme end can (with the baffle in).

@@ubergregmoto Thanks man. I know you love your MT10 and you have a lot of technical knowledge.
This really helps me.

@@ubergregmoto Alright then, b*lls of steel it is..! Cheers mate! The ride on this recent upload was so smooth btw, it was almost ASMR degree!
@@subtlegroove9867 yep, really enjoyed the vibe on this one...
