    Meh, vaguely similar songs… ridiculous court judgment. Great video, once again.

    How has hip hop , rap and dj mixing ever existed!?

    • @Traxploitation
      @Traxploitation  Год назад +1

      Timing!
      They happened at a time when the law changed retrospectively to accommodate changes.
      Like when records first came out there was no law governing what someone who purchased a copy could do with it. It took a landmark case of a record label suing a cafe (in Bristol I think...but that's off the top of my head) to create phonographic copyright...and an organisation to license the commercial use of recordings in businesses...PPL.
      So when samplers got invented it was a free for all for a few years while people caught up, but by the time people started getting taken to court over it there was a market for sampled based music, so the industry just adapted to allow samples to be cleared.
      So the short answer is money.

    So glad Klein got his come uppance. He was the cause of the Beatles split. Another bit of proof that Kanye was right.

    I adore George Harrison but this is pretty obvious. I’m sure he didn’t intend to copy He’s So Fine but it is way too similar to overlook.

  • @chrismulwee4911
    @chrismulwee4911 3 года назад +2

    If you want for this song to sound even more like He's So Fine, just listen to Billy Preston's recording.
    Harrison's version sounds like He' So Fine and Oh Happy Day(Edwin Hawkins Singers) mashed together, but Preston's almost has the same exact arrangement as HSF.

    • @Traxploitation
      @Traxploitation  3 года назад +1

      Interesting as Harrison produced Billy Preston's version and the Edwin Hawkins Singers are on backing vocals.

      @@Traxploitation Did They Also sing backup on Harrison's version. If not, those backup singers are soundalikes.

      ‘My Sweet Lord’ was a far better track than ‘He’s So Fine’ and ‘Oh, Happy Day’. It stands well enough on it’s own and is one of the greatest songs of all time

    Investigate Sting's stealing Paul Simon's Slip Sliding Away for Every Breath You Take. Much more obvious than this Harrison case. I thought you would mention that the lyrics of THIS SONG include "This song, there's nothing Bright about it"

    • @Traxploitation
      @Traxploitation  3 года назад +2

      There's lots of lyrical references to the case in "This Song". I could probably make a whole video breaking down the lyrics. As for the Paul Simon/Sting thing...there is definitely a story there. Doesn't really fit into this particular series as it's about actual court cases rather than just songs that sound similar/the same. Although, maybe I could do a series of the ones who got away with it? or the ones that were quietly settled out of court. I suspect there was some out of court agreement with Sting and Paul Simon as they have performed "Every Breath You Take" together a few times over the years.

    Yes this is a direct rip in my opinion, but GH was a very wealthy man why nobody said this to him when it was being recorded , that’s what happens when you surrounded by bottom lickers and yes men

    LOL, a three chord song. It's pretty ridiculous.

    • @Traxploitation
      @Traxploitation  4 месяца назад

      Not sure what relevance the amount of chords has? Chords and chord progressions arent protected by copyright. So whether it has 3 chords or 30 is irrelevant. 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️
      It's the words and melody that is protected.
