Even tho I had a feeling this was coming, I can't believe how gutted I am that it had to come to this after such a long journey, so I am at a loss to know how you guys feel! It has been a privilege to follow this transformation for years, which proves your good taste, work ethic, and skills. No job was too big, or detail was too small, even tho you knew for quite a while it could go. Hats off to you! I hope you end up doing really well out of it financially. I think Eds idea of building a Chateau from scratch is a monumental task but if anyone can do it he can. Yes, the caretaker's suite is truly a luxury home in itself, in my opinion.
After an initial moment of shock and sadness when I learned that you are going to sell your passion project, I am left impressed with how you are turning the "lemons" of needing to sell into the "lemonade" of putting all of your experience into a new and bigger project.
I can see that Ed is really excited by the possibilities, and I love the eco angle. You have grown your audience tremendously, and I think I can safely say that we are all excited to see where the future takes you.

This beautiful renovation, a blend of both the historic and the new, just proves that with a lot of blood. sweat and tears a dream can come true. You both had a vision and with a lot of hardwork, determination and the support of family, friends and the viewers your passion project came to fruition. This is most likely the best of all home renovations I have ever seen in my 52 years of life. You both have an eye for excellence and simplicity. If I lived in your country, I would be beating the doors down to make an offer to purchase. This far exceeds my most humble desires of a dream home. I do not know why you only have 115K subscribers, as far as I am concerned, you should have 115 million if not more. What an amazing job you've done. Hell yeah! You’re young enough to be able to build it and wise enough to it right. Me and my husband are just starting the journey to build our own retirement home by the sea. We’re late starters (58 years and 60 years old), but we’re excited about and we’re going to do it. Follow your dreams! ❤️
I know I have your backs no matter what you choose...but also if you go on this adventure, building your perfect chateau, I'm sure all your viewers have you all in our hearts.

The thrill of the chateau for me is the old, the sometimes clever finds and the history in it. I can't imagine having the same excitement for a new build. Tthis isn't to say you couldn't pull it off bc you've shown your craftsmanship repeatedly.
Depending on your age will determine if I can honestly say I’m excited for you. If at any time in the new build process you turn 55 and still have a massive amount of work to do to finish, then my excitement will turn to extreme worry!!!
From experience, I can promise you that from 55 to 65 (and beyond), anything physical takes 3x longer than you think and after 70 it becomes almost impossible to manage on your own.
Once your knees go (and they will), your back isn’t far behind. You also start loosing your strength at 60 and your coordination and eye sight at 65, then your stamina somewhere between 66-70.
If you can have the new project 85% or more complete by 55-60, which may sound like it’s a long way off but it’s NOT, then go for it!!!!

Wonderful work but keep the new to be built home a home and not an enormous house.
Rather than enormous house, build 3,000 sq ft house (plenty large) and build a barn for a small farm for independent living.

This has been an incredible journey with you all from the start of this project. It has been my absolute pleasure..we also got to see Chacha and Emma grow before our eyes.

35 years a General Contractor in the U.S.and it still brings me to tears seeing this kind of restoration. The incredible amount of collective old world craftsmanship invested in such a villa.
Did Anna repeat something about a 9 sqm villa up next?? May want to rethink that grandiose floor plan. Kind of like a yacht, each lineal dimension increases costs exponentially. Proceed wisely and with realistic budgetary appropriation in close check.
Nothing like having a dream, you’ve certainly got the skills and I’m not saying that you are ‘over-the-hill’ but will you have the stamina to take on a brand new chateau build.
