- Here is the Tommy Bolin Archives ultimate tribute video to Jeff Beck. The soundtrack for it is the jam Tommy and Jeff and Bobby Berge did when Jeff Beck was in Los Angeles for a June 12, 1976 concert. Tommy invited him over to the Glen Holly Studio, a converted garage, at Tommy’s longtime friend Phil Polimeni’s home. They did a couple of jams, one with Jeff on guitar and one with Tommy on bass and then one with Tommy on guitar and Jeff and bass. Unfortunately, the first jam was recorded over!! Bobby Berge played drums on both. It is really quite the amazing piece of improvisational music. Unlike other versions of this that have been released we’ve created an incredible tribute to Jeff and Tommy with dozens and dozens of pictures, edited together professionally. This is for you, Jeff. And this is for you, Tommy. #jeffbeck #Tommybolin
May they be reunited in the heavens to continue this jam. Rest Easy and In Peace Brothers. 🙏❤

Thanks for making this hidden gem available. Mr. beck, RIP, has been my musical inspiration since the Yardbirds days & influenced my decision tp take up guitar. IMHO, the best & absolutely most original guitarist ever!

Brilliant stuff.

Thank you so much for this tribute. Tommy and Jeff have been a massive part of my musical education and listening experience since I was a middle school kid who didn't know a G major Chord, and they remain such to this day.

Wow! This is great… first time listen for me… l can hear that tiny McLaughlin echo in one of Jeff’s licks…am l right? Anyway… two fine, fine players whose influence shall always shine. Thanks for this. Btw, was Glen Holly a cul de sac just off Beechwood drive??
Tommy on guitar, not Jeff, Jeff's on bass. ( Read description)
Ok…. It’s Tommy
God dammed the pusher man that gave Tommy the mess which claimed a wonderful musical life
I reread the notes… so… was the Jeff guitar part recorded over? Is that Tommy at the beginning? Sorry for the dumb questions.. I’m getting on now.. 70!! Anyway… definately a few Johnney McLaughlin things there.
Yes, Beck's guitar part was recorded over (not bass part w/Tommy on guitar) at Jeff's request. I lived in Boulder, Co. in '78-'79 directly catty-cornered from Bobby Berge & he told me that personally. I got a copy of this plus some studio & live Energy stuff direct from Bobby's tapes, which was very cool for such a Tommy freak as myself! He said Jeff was very unhappy with his playing hence the record over request...
