I remember as a boy watching Cat on a 13" black and white tv with my older brother in 1971; as an 8 or 9 year old. Today I rarely pick up my guitar without a quick run through a few of my favorites from Yusuf. The feeling so many echo about this song is the exact feeling I had, but 50 years ago we had to see him in fuzzy b&w coming through a single speaker that was an afterthought at best. Cable was still a decade away, Al Gore had not begun to invent the internet for almost 20 more years. The music was relevant then, it is absolutely relevant now, and we can only pray the future has more peace for all of us. "Quality never goes out of style",Yusuf's entire body of work fits this sentiment perfectly.
I loved first hearing this song as a ten-year-old in 1971. If our world is going to end warfare as a means to solve conflicts over the next 50 years, we will need the universal language, power & inspiration of music to get us on the train to peace! Thank you Yusuf/Cat Stevens and those following in your footsteps. Wonderful seeing Rhiannon Giddens here!

Yes to all below… Would’ve enjoyed hearing more of the “peace drums solo”! Great to hear/see Cat Stevens. Love the 70’s- wish we could go back in time…and what we know now, maintain “what was”
definitely agree longer drum solo was needed accompanied after with the didg to better showcase those skills before breaking back to the verse ....... would have made this far more amazing (not that it isn't right now - but the potential to drive that primal voice of freedom and peace was a missed opportunity, especially with such a tasty beat )
I'll be there .. The Peace Train Holy Roller has now left the station .. go bring your good friends too, cause its getting nearer it soon will be with you 💗

Listening to all these beautiful voices not only fills my heart with great joy, but it elevates all of our frequencies to a much higher level. This music and those who came together to share their voices needs to be put into the hands and ears of all humans on planet Earth. It is this unity that will elevate mankind spiritually and forever end hate, evil and war. Dont be misled...this energy is far stronger and more powerful then one hundred nation's armies. I surely hope, and believe this will be the path we all follow in the very near future. Bless all those who contributed to this beautiful collaboration.

@@howlinhobbit Yusuf is from long before Keb Mo' and CCD.... 🙂❤
@@MelissaThompson432 - yes, I know that. I had just hit my teens when it was released and I listened to it a lot.

Playing for Change has left me praying for change with tears streaming down my face. Can't see how that could have possibly been any more moving and inspiring.

I've loved this man since the early 70s.
Peace Train reaches deep into one's soul. Oh! the possibilities that traverse through my mind when I hear it. There is hope, love and peace that resides just outside the divisions that we face today, if we could just reach out and get on The Peace Train the healing would begin. ALL ABOARD!!
Yusef Cat is still totally awesome ; he sounds and looks amazing and it was another wonderful composition from - playing for Change 🎆👌
Still an incredibly beautiful song. Yosuf's voice still sounds like he did 40 years ago! Thank you for allowing me to relive the music of my youth during some troubling times in our world.
This brought tears of hope and joy back into my heart. May it be easy. 💗
Que viva el gran Cat Stevens un muy buen compositor y con un gran carisma espiritual que viva la.musica Peter de Colombia gratitud y bendiciones
I've been a fan of Yusuf / Cat Stevens since I was in high school and now I'm 69. I'm so glad he is back to making music. This compilation of musicians singing his old song Peace Train moved me to tears. I have never had the opportunity to see him in person but I love that guy and his music. I hope he keeps making music for years to come.
The diversity of singing and love expressed in this song fosters hope and a happy feeling!
If you’ve been on the edge of darkness lately, fear not, the Peace ☮️ Train is coming to take us home again.
This beautiful video made by artists from around the world fills me with hope for the future.

Absolutely makes me cry, I believe in us people coming together on that peace train.... cycle of life.... prevailing ytime and time over years when things boil up✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️💯💯💯💯💯
Incredible - in every language! Cat you knocked it out of the park years ago, and lord only knows we need healing and peace throughout the world. THANK YOU to all the wonderful musicians who contributed to this effort♥️💋👍😘
Loved it. May we see social justice and world peace in our time
I loved first hearing this song as a ten-year-old in 1971.
Great group of musicians, phenomenal song/ songwriter, a message I pray for. Thank you Yusuf 🙏🏼

My big bro William Barton playing the Didgeridoo from Mount Isa Queensland Australia I went to primary school with him and very proud of what his accomplished 👏 the best in the business my blood brother one love
Yes to all below…
Would’ve enjoyed hearing more of the “peace drums solo”!
I wish that I knew what I know now / When I was younger
Yes, besides hearing Yusuf's voice, those drums got me on my feet.
I'll be there .. The Peace Train Holy Roller has now left the station .. go bring your good friends too, cause its getting nearer it soon will be with you 💗

@@yusufcatstevens5917 I love the Peace Train, even recorded it as the Clean Train for this pandemic.
This version of Peace Train should be played at the beginning and end of the UN General Session main session. It might remind our representatives what the people of the world need.
What, do heroin and convert to Islam? lol, good excuse to stay away from heroin.
It won't.
Heart-felt welcome back, Yusuf. Awesome way to bring this brilliant song back to us, and when we badly need it.
With a huge lump in my throat, and tears, I knew this would touch me again. And although my original vinyl version hasn't worn out, it always seems like I'm hearing this song for the first time. Maybe that means, don't give up on hope and peace. Thank you Playing for Change, and Yusuf.
I appreciate your support and love 💕
I saw this on Hoda and Jenna this morning. I thank them both so much, from the bottom of my heart.
I am ' Care Giving ' for my Mother, who has Dementia ; by myself and this has lifted my spirits today, tremendously.
My days are very challenging and I at times wonder about this world and continuously ask ' Why ' , can't we all get along ?
Thanks to Hoda and Jenna. Love you.
I love it. It's wonderful to see different musicians from different countries singing the same song.
I always enjoy these performances. And of course with the Cat Stevens himself. Great!
Milagros Vecino
His voice is just as beautiful as when i first heard it.
Oh my goodness! This is so needed today, perhaps more than ever. I broke out in goose bumps all over my body... Praise be to all! Riding The Peace Train 🕊️❣️🕊️ Thankyou Cat Stevens
I’ve got to say, that drummer and his expressions were just perfect!
It is an amazing and evocative performance......the group from Hattiesburg makes the show!
Blessed Peace Day, Yusuf ! What an amazing video, reuniting artists from all over the world. Peace and Love to all 🕊❤️🕊
