FalconCam 2024 04 08 One sided bonding

Xavier arrives, chupping, with a nice crop still full of Diamond's great crested grebe that he nicked early. Then Diamond arrives and they bond (so clearly she has forgiven him), but he seems strangely distracted. It's unusual as normally it's her that loses interest first.

There was something up in the air. Even D looked up a few times. I couldnt see anything on tower cam at the time. Nice to see a dance anyway :)

Does anyone know when is the usual time that diamond lays her eggs? Isn't it like middle to end of April ? Just curious ❤

Late August for egg laying but mating starts much earlier.

In the Northern hemisphere April-May-ish for egg laying, in the Southern hemisphere Sept-October-ish, which is spring for New South Wales Australia, where this nest is located.
