That's why children day sucks. You see your friends sharing their childhood memories but you only have some painful memories which have lots of missing parts.
Hold up, missing parts - do you mean missing positive experiences or literally having big chunks of your childhood missing from memory because I do- just wondering if maybe this really is sort of normal with childhood trauma
@@anevara1780 Big chunks of childhood missing from memory. My childhood memory is mess as fuck. The dreams and reality are mixed with each other. I can't figure out which are the reality which are the dreams. The timeline is messy too.
@@peopleusingdarkmodecanseem5307 can I get a high five? 😅 my memory is more like nothing even happened though ig, I have the general cultural memories and anything probably because society keeps reminding you. But anything private except like 2 traumatic situations is gone, I need to be told it happened but still won't remember. Such a weird mess up in my brain
I am a victim of emotional abuse and bullying in both school and home. I was naive back then and thought what I experienced now is because of the choices I made, but instead it all link together to my childhood trauma and the cause is closer than I thought. :") im still struggling with my mental health rn and I'm 20, I wish all of you the best of the best with dealing with these trauma! We never chose to be like this, society made us what we are, so dont blame urself for everything. Have a good day to you ☺️🌼
I also am a victim of emotional abuse and bullying at home, as well as school. Growing up was miserable. Then I married to get away from home. Bad choice!!! I married someone a lot like my father. The one I was trying to escape. I thought I was safe, but wasn’t. It’s just recently that I’ve begun to awake after years of hiding, bi-polar depression, PTSD, anxiety up the wazoo, low self-esteem, etc. I’ve been living and dealing with these issues my entire life. I’m 52. I have 2 beautiful children who have also been subjected to abuse similar to what I experienced as a child. I feel so guilty because I wasn’t more present in the past. I’m trying to make up for the past. I’m medicated for my bi-polar and am in therapy. It’s frustrating that it’s taken so long to realize what I did to myself. I’m not looking for pity here. I just wanted you to know that it takes some of us longer to heal than others and that you are not alone in your experience. I’m fighting past and present demons. Sometimes it’s so overwhelming I feel like I’m drowning, but I’ve never given up. I hid for years. Suddenly I’ve started to wake up and realize that I don’t have to put up my situation. I can try to work with my husband and hope he’ll get better or leave. Leaving is looking like the best option at the moment. I’m not sure he is capable of getting better and I’m tired of the abuse. It’s never been physical, but I wonder if it isn’t worse because it’s so hard to see. You get so used to putting on an act for the world to see that you can even fool yourself. Keep fighting! You can do it!!!
@@lisacurtis6993 yeah I kinda just began using headphones constantly to block my parents out , then I found them broken on the floor, they wonder why I’m mute from emotional abuse and I’m sitting here like , there’s a very good chance you broke them , you literally took away my coping mechanism, yeah anyway now I have depression anxiety and am mute , oh and can’t do get suicidal thoughts and actions, not like I can talk to anyone
Made my day. Thank you. I'm at your age (21) struggling with emotional trauma and having depression rn it really hurts i hope things get better soon :)
I can understand that, completely, I’m a victim of emotional abuse at home and at school and it’s still hard to believe that I went through that, hell I’m still questioning if I even did or if I’m just being dramatic. Still struggling with my mental health, wish you the best.
For those who suffer childhood trauma just remember this, you made it. I grew up with a Karen mom. She treated my father so poorly he committed suicide but for some reason he left everything in the will. My mother then left to get a new job across the country while my brother had to take care of me. She got a new husband and made me (the youngest) move across the country, away EVERYONE that I knew. This was the most loneliest time of my life. I bided my time and tricked her into letting me go “visit” home. I told her that I wasn’t coming back then I ghosted her. I managed to finish my last two years of high school then get into a university thanks to my Aunt and Uncle for letting me live with them. I have my scars and flaws from these experiences, and you will too. Be sure to catch yourself if you think your acting like the terrible parent you had so you can break the vicious cycle of childhood abuse. Lastly, don’t wear your scars as pity, wear it like a shining suit of armor.
This means a lot. I’m still trying to overcome several traumatic experiences. It’s so hard to get out of a victim mentality but it’s necessary to keep fighting and be strong. Remember that you are not alone.
I am burdened with guilt from certain things that occurred during my childhood. I also have trouble letting things go and even my therapist couldn't help with the latter. Having an excellent long term memory is both a blessing and a curse.
This specific video with the art depiction tells me these people really do know what they are talking about. I related to every single damn point. And it hurts like hell. Zuzia, you are a godsend of an animator. You are making me feel ways I didn’t think I could feel. It’s just validating and understanding what emotions I’m expressing. Giving me Ghibli vibes.
I'm so glad that I don't relate to this video. I have healed SO MUCH emotional and childhood baggage and this channel has been a big part of helping my mental health. THANK YOU. ❤️
it's one thing to feel all this negativity and self loathing and resentment in general, and a totally other thing to put on a fake front and act as if you are alright every single waking hour of your life. you have to smile and joke even when in your head, you are so angry that you're so close to causing physical damage, to yourself or to the person in front of you doesn't matter. you have to reign in your rage and pretend to be fine. you have to hold back your tears and pretend to be happy-go-lucky. And when you let even the slightest emotions leak out, your feelings get ridiculed and looked down upon. as if you arent allowed to have those emotions at all. you get so used to pretending and faking emotions that when you decided to just stop and start expressing your real emotions, you are no longer able to differentiate between the real and the fake. the real is gone, and the fake is your real now. you're this wonderful, caring and loving person on the outside, but feel so totally distant on the inside. You are still a wonderful person on the inside, but it's covered in the dirt of all the negativity and trauma you hide inside of you. And even if you do recognise the good within you, yu are afraid to show your true self. because that is not who you are to the world. and you are afraid to be rejected....
That was way too real. The worst part is once you become aware of this disconnect and have to learn how to genuinely "feel." Then you realize that after so long, you don't even remember how
My first tramatic event: My beloved Dad passed away in 1971. My second tramatic event: I was bullied by a neighborhood girl for 10 years, I got married and moved off of my street. My third tramatic events: Most of my adult life, I have been abused in some way by people who I thought loved me. I'm now under a Dr's care.
I’ve been working through my adverse childhood experiences for three years now. I’ve been able to get sober, but I still struggle with emotional regulation and trusting people. I also am ruthless with myself. Thank you for your videos, they are so helpful!
The fact that you are able to see all this means you are doing great! Many people don't understand that their behaviour is harmful to themselves or to others and they don't see anything wrong
I've been with my therapist for about a year now and I still haven't opened up about my childhood trauma. She's a fantastic therapist, I've just experienced a lot of crappy things
"You can't control your emotions" and that hits me the hardest. When I get overwhelmed especially around the people who are that reason. I lose it. I cant help it and it sucks. I hate it.
The timing.. Yesterday I told my best friend that the time for dealing with childhood trauma, has finally come since I made an appointment with the psychiatrist. Thank you for the lovely content.
I just wanted to thank the staff at Psy2Go for giving us a chance to recognize why we are who we are inside and outside. I understand a lot more than I did yesterday about myself by watching these videos and educating myself. Again thank you for all your hard work! And happy new year! 💕
I was bullied by peers. I know that isn't a good enough excuse to fall under childhood trauma, and I think it still affects me. I meet all the signs. As a teacher, I find myself punishing bullying more than anything else a student could do. Just today, I took a victory away from a whole team because of a bully who decided to rub it in the losing team's face. His teammates were pissed, and I hope that shows that being a bully doesn't pay and isn't okay. Or, for doing something that was inherently negative (taking a victory away from a kid for his bullying) I've caused irreparable childhood trauma, and the cycle of evil continues.
My partner pointed this out to me; he said this is why I have such a negative self image, think I’m not worth it, struggle with anxiety over gifts I’ve received, that I don’t feel I deserve to be happy, self blame....I’d never put it all together, I thought it was because my ex was abusive, but then it revealed why I even ended up with him to begin with. Ugh...I feel so textbook....
These are things I need a good therapist to tell me. I've lived with childhood trauma for so long, never knowing if I'm over it, if something that I feel or do is normal or an effect of what I've been through. Things like specific anxious traits for no reason, difficulty with emotions, and difficulty making intimate and personal connections with people (I've cried way too much about that) and so important for people who've had childhood trama to be aware of.
When i didn't do anything and this pops up in recommended along with many...many other health things...love the voice and info tho so these are amazing
For all of you fellow beautiful souls that relate to this video, I just want to say...you are not alone, you are worthy, you deserve healing and happiness, and the cycle of abuse ends with you, keep going ❤
Not as much anymore, ive been able to control the feelings and negativeness, at the age of 1, my oldest sister was 7, and the middle sister was 3 (the youngest brother was born later) My middle sister, (hailey) was born 2 weeks early and was born with something calls Tracheoesophageal fistula, it means her trechea (breathing tube) is connected to her esophagus (eating tube) at the age of 3, on my grandmas birthday she was just put down for a nap. she... choked in her sleep and passed away... **oh my gosh im crying typing this** shes been in helicopters multiple times to get to the hospital quickly, ambulances, etc. ... heh. well guess all of youtube can now know my story! also in 3rd grade i was bullied. not too bad but i was. eventually people stopped caring. The principal would no longer listen to my so called "nonsense" and my teacher was the same.. after that year i changed to a new amazing school. after 3rd grade i lost most of my happiness and quirkyness. i dont try to stand out anymore, if anything im trying to push myself in with others. i got anxiety, which has never stricked so bad and its never gone away and ive lost my friendliness and my socialality, ive become someone who never wants to talk to people and ignore texts and rather do nothing then go out. i got a cat during this time (yes im still going ive never vented like this before) i took the risk to take this feral, runt of the litter, feline lukemia cat into my arms. He was only comfortable with me, yes you can see where this is going... February 1st, 2020 Ninja (the cat) got sick, very sick. i knew something was wrong and broke out into tears. February 2nd, 2020, it was time to go to the vet where my mom was waiting with Ninja. I asked if he was okay "its time for him to go" ... ive never recovered from that like i did with Hailey and 3rd grade... I get very bad unknown anxiety, I put myself down and think im not good enough or i push myself too hard and I have really bad control over emotions, i snap easily and i can get extreme mood changes so this helps a lot, thank you

(First at all, thanks for another amazing, educational and supportive video. Really like this one- as usuall) 2 years ago I've got through sexual assault by a close friend, what made me to blame myself, feel guilty and embarrassed about what happened ,developed some trust issues and also afraid from my own thoughts. For many time I've denied it by not talking about it with anyone and also by telling myself that it is not his fault. A month ago I had woke up from a dream about him and then finally realised that I need to solve it with myself. I won't go into details because it's irrelevant but my point is that everyone goes through something, but we don't have to make it define us and also, we all have the power to rise above it. Appreciate the process which includes low and high, be proud of yourself and be aware for your small steps, the progress is real but takes time. For everyone here who is going through hard time, you can get better-I promise. We are not our traumas, we are not our issues- we are much more than that. For everyone here who find it hard to see the light, remember that everything is just temporary and the good times are really close. You are not alone, even if it looks like you are. If you think hard you'll find someone to lean on. And if you want to, I'm here and I will like to listen❤ Take care of yourself, send love💘 (Sorry for my bad English, it's not my native language;( )
Oof, right in the feels, remembering all that has happened to me in the past and re-evaluating why I am so hurt and broken, I now see why I'm so different from most people, it might explain why I'm an INFJ personality and many of my mental health issues To anyone else who has suffered from childhood trauma/traumas: you aren't alone, it takes time to heal and trust yourself again but you can change and grow if you want to, for what you have gone through can make you a better you, and I believe you can do so
This is such a valuable set of symptoms to recognise even or maybe especially if you can't remember anything much from childhood. As my therapist says, even if your brain can't remember, your body remembers - if you think about your childhood and feel, for example, loneliness, that's what happened even if you can't remember why or how. Listen to your body and what it's telling you and get help when you can, it will be the bravest and best thing you ever do I promise

Yep, social anxiety, the fear of making contact, so I won’t make friends, so I won’t get hurt again. I got hurt many many times thanks to complicated things as a kid with friendships, it happened so often and I am a very sensitive person, so I developed a trauma over it. It turned little me from an extrovert to an introvert just to protect myself. Now I’m doing everything I can to solve it, by proving that losing friends isn’t a 100% bad thing, I learnt that losing a friend is good for you. When you lose them you can think about what they did to you, how you changed thanks to them, what kind of amazon things you have done with them so you can look back with a smile at the time you 2 were still together. And it works, after a few months I can notice real progress, I start to enjoy taking to others again, I start to need less and less alone time (actually alone time makes me feel empty more and more often).
used to have almost every single one of those signs but at some point in my life these stopped one after another. not because of therapy but something triggered a deep dive selfanalysis at a time when I was almost completely lost and it helped me find a way to heal myself. wasn't fun to be stuck within my own head for several years tho, but it was worth it
The video helped me to understand myself a little bit. I still don't really understand myself that much. But... is it bad that I relate to everything in the video?
I would love to write a video essay for you to animate and produce on how childhood abuse and disorganized attachment style (anxious-avoidance) in young men in particular is something that hate groups tend to seek out in potential new recruits. Some who were formerly alt right describe it as like abusive relationship where the group in which they found comfort paradoxically caused them fear and dangerous behavior.

That's why children day sucks. You see your friends sharing their childhood memories but you only have some painful memories which have lots of missing parts.
What is Children Day? Is it a holiday in your country?
Hold up, missing parts - do you mean missing positive experiences or literally having big chunks of your childhood missing from memory because I do- just wondering if maybe this really is sort of normal with childhood trauma
@@yeastofthoughtsmind9623 No. It's like a... special day I guess? Just like mother's day and father's day, it's not a holiday but we would celebrate.

Same here
For those who suffer childhood trauma just remember this, you made it.
Thanks what you said is so encouraging.
thank you, this mean alot 🥺
Wonderful advice and encouraging too I am still suffering through some traumatic situations so this means allot and you are very strong 💜
This means a lot. I’m still trying to overcome several traumatic experiences. It’s so hard to get out of a victim mentality but it’s necessary to keep fighting and be strong. Remember that you are not alone.

it's one thing to feel all this negativity and self loathing and resentment in general, and a totally other thing to put on a fake front and act as if you are alright every single waking hour of your life. you have to smile and joke even when in your head, you are so angry that you're so close to causing physical damage, to yourself or to the person in front of you doesn't matter. you have to reign in your rage and pretend to be fine. you have to hold back your tears and pretend to be happy-go-lucky.
This hit me hard. This is Exactly what I cant express with my own words.

So sorry for everyone who's going through Unresolved Childhood Trauma. I can't imagine what it'd be like. I hope you can heal.
I don't loathe myself... it is others that look down at me.
I plan to think about it, write about it and then forget it.
The voice: 8 signs
The writing: 6 signs
Me: replays to make sure I'm not having auditory hallucinations

These are things I need a good therapist to tell me. I've lived with childhood trauma for so long, never knowing if I'm over it, if something that I feel or do is normal or an effect of what I've been through. Things like specific anxious traits for no reason, difficulty with emotions, and difficulty making intimate and personal connections with people (I've cried way too much about that) and so important for people who've had childhood trama to be aware of.
When i didn't do anything and this pops up in recommended along with many...many other health things...love the voice and info tho so these are amazing

at the age of 1, my oldest sister was 7, and the middle sister was 3
(the youngest brother was born later)
My middle sister, (hailey) was born 2 weeks early and was born with something calls Tracheoesophageal fistula, it means her trechea (breathing tube) is connected to her esophagus (eating tube) at the age of 3, on my grandmas birthday she was just put down for a nap. she...

also in 3rd grade i was bullied. not too bad but i was. eventually people stopped caring.
February 1st, 2020
Ninja (the cat) got sick, very sick. i knew something was wrong and broke out into tears.
February 2nd, 2020,
it was time to go to the vet where my mom was waiting with Ninja.
I asked if he was okay
"its time for him to go"
...
ive never recovered from that like i did with Hailey and 3rd grade...
I get very bad unknown anxiety,
I put myself down and think im not good enough or i push myself too hard
and I have really bad control over emotions, i snap easily and i can get extreme mood changes
so this helps a lot,
thank you

2 years ago I've got through sexual assault by a close friend, what made me to blame myself, feel guilty and embarrassed about what happened ,developed some trust issues and also afraid from my own thoughts.
And if you want to, I'm here and I will like to listen❤
Take care of yourself, send love💘

This is such a valuable set of symptoms to recognise even or maybe especially if you can't remember anything much from childhood. People dismiss my trauma and make me feel invalid for having trauma. 😔

At least he ghosted, others just go for cigarretes and never come back.
@@darvey1979 he was part of my life for my first 2 years. Like many, he went to the a bar and never came back. His alive. I still talk to some family on his side.i accepted that a lot my anger and fear is due to my fathers abandonment. Meditation helps me.
@Vianne Bambi Dick Sad to hear that. But we have to be strong. The past is gone but the damage remains sadly. People dont realize how a bad childhood affects you all your life. I still react like a kid sometimes when I get angry or sad. I struggle with depression and outburst of anger with rage becuase of my father. I hope that one day, he will looks back with regret but it is too late anyways.
You guys have been posting such relatable content lately
Nah, I'm fine.

Me
I was taken advantage of from elementary school to high school. I became distant in college. I helped my classmates with their schoolwork and notes. Eventually, they started asking too much of me. Now I am making sure no one takes advantage of me ever again! Sometimes being nice gets to the point where people start to take advantage of your kindness and use your good nature against you.

I’m so glad I found this channel, thank you ❤️
Can it be considered bad if my mom cares more about her boyfriend than my sisters and I?
It 100% is bad, you should be your mother's top priority. Not her boyfriend.

She ignored the fact that one of my eyes couldn’t see for years, but the first sign her boyfriend had an achy eye, she took him to the ER.
I’m sorry to hear that. Although all I’ve ever experience is suffocating love from my mother I’ve experienced the lack thereof from my father but a child should be the parents top priority no matter what. Hope things get better for you💜
Thank you, it warms my heart that others can experience unconditional motherly love
I hope all of you will heal from your childhood. You deserve it, because you're so loveable. You're enough and it's okay to not be okay.
Healing takes times, but it's so much worth it ✨
Much love, light and healing 🙏💝
