The only person I would trust to build a rotor in the USA (that isn't in PR!) would be Abel. For decades he has been at or near the top of having the quickest rotary around and his reputation is known here down under as a great builder of rotors. 👍💪
I know rotary engines use engine oil to help with the apex seals and keep them lubed as well. One thing that happened to cross my mind is adding an oil injector of some kind to help get a little extra oil into the engine and hopefully not have so much scoring on the surfaces. Lets hope everything goes right and you can reach over a thousand horsepower.
Abel a true master at his craft. If anybody can build a monster horsepower rotary that only lasts maybe 6 runs. But if you want a reliable beast with a good amount of power and torque Abel is the man for the job.
I can see Abel has far surpassed the conventional bridge/monster/peripheral port, and went straight to the holy grail, so holy infact, modern technology cannot accurately capture the photons. We shall call it the Abel port, and sacrifice a goat each week to pay tribute to it
I find this to be absolutely and utterly fascinating. It would be an absolute dream to protege under Abel Ibarra, and I can’t wait to see this beast of an engine assembled by a master run.
I really need to learn how an engine works. Yeah you can say "air, fuel, bang, wheels turn" but there are SO many intricacies. Everyone should know how amazing these machines are.
This comment section... the blurred parts are the bridge ports. Why they are blurred half the time seems to be in relationship to seeing down into the journals so I am guessing there is something special about the inner portion.. or Rob starting blurring and it turned out to be unnecessary.
Thanks for restoring one of the most exiting engine concepts, that was developed in the last century. Would be great, to here it running. I love that sound. Little bit like a 2 stroke. great job.
Unless he is just screwing with us he would have blurred them because if your a pro rotary tuner/builder like Abel you dont want people copying the way you re-port the engine. its to keep a secret a secret. but if it was to keep it secret Rob messed up big time XD
I've watched you for a couple years now but this video and montage of him building the motor was so relaxing.. I can't wait to see what this thing does.
Ill never forget the first time i learned what a rotary engine was. When explained i was like 'nahhhh. An engine has pistons. Not doritos.' Showed me a video of how it worked and I've never been the same... been obsessed ever since.
These engines are so beautiful, interesting, amazing, strange! I really hope to build one someday... might be fun to put one in a Porsche 914 or Fiat x19 .... so many projects, so little time/money.
Hi Dahm! Don't know if you'll see this but I think it's interesting that you have AN fittings for the oil lines while there's also AN fittings in the custom watercooling hobby for computers
This was awesome to watch man. Ive never seen a 20B put together piece by piece. All it does is make me more and more interested in rotary's A+ Rob! Now the only thing that's left is to rewire the entire chassis of the FD, because looking at it gives me anxiety.
The R100, the RX7, and the RX8 drag cars that Abel built are great race cars to keep in a museum; or to take on tour to a import drag race reunion. Like a import cackle fest type race.
That crack is a bit of a worry because I've heard of it being common with the cast iron housings, once they start cracking, they are likely to continue cracking right through the housing, usually if it's leaking oil,it's cracked. Some of the rotary guys over here in Australia have been talking about how there are aftermarket billet aluminium end & intermediate plates available albeit aren't very cheap but are much more solid (not as brittle as cast the cast iron housings). I'd either get semi PP rotor housings or the rotor housings machined to accept semi PP (25mm) inlet ports, have throttle butterflies set up to open them up at a certain RPM band or throttle position to get the best overall performance out of the engine.
Nice work, thanks for making. Thanks for playing. All clean, good job really! Now please see this video: (Mazda Rx8 motor rotativo reparación parte 1). Wow
Get you someone that cares about you like Abel Ibarra cares about rotaries.
Is abel ibarra related to paco ibarra of maximum driftcast? That would be pretty cool lol
I’m angry I didn’t think of this
He has erica
The only person I would trust to build a rotor in the USA (that isn't in PR!) would be Abel. For decades he has been at or near the top of having the quickest rotary around and his reputation is known here down under as a great builder of rotors. 👍💪
MafiaboysWorld then go to Australia, RBs and Rotorys are everywhere down there
Watching a rotary rebuild never gets old. So beautiful! Like getting to watch your child's heart being made
I know rotary engines use engine oil to help with the apex seals and keep them lubed as well. One thing that happened to cross my mind is adding an oil injector of some kind to help get a little extra oil into the engine and hopefully not have so much scoring on the surfaces.

Stewart Mckinna wtf lol
Toward the end the camera was able to catch it lol.
Samuel Mancia saw that too. I’m too lazy to find it in the vid, but I though it was the secondary port, which some builders don’t bother with
I thought it was intentionally blurred?
My God loooool
I find this to be absolutely and utterly fascinating. It would be an absolute dream to protege under Abel Ibarra, and I can’t wait to see this beast of an engine assembled by a master run.
It's so JDM that the holes go blurry on camera.
It's funny 'cause Japanese censorship
thats Japanese porn for yah!
Man. What a privilege it would be to watch Abel put the motor together and learn how to properly do a rebuild.
I really need to learn how an engine works. Yeah you can say "air, fuel, bang, wheels turn" but there are SO many intricacies. Everyone should know how amazing these machines are.
When we going to get a 4 rotor update rob? Cuz god Dahm im hungry for that
right
MotorsportMonkey when he has another 100k burning a hole in his pocket
TATW w/Above&Beyond, and Rotary goodness. Perfection at its best.
That was superb. I’ve been searching for a good rotary assembly video minus the yapping and this hit the spot. 10 million man points to you sir!
I love that Abel listens to trance music while he is working :)
arcadeuk especially above and beyond. Hopefully he listens to oceanlab!
Everytime I have ported and polished manifolds I listen to techno. It's so relaxing
he probably does
Sounds like group therapy to me. My jam for a long ride.
You are my therapy
This comment section... the blurred parts are the bridge ports. Why they are blurred half the time seems to be in relationship to seeing down into the journals so I am guessing there is something special about the inner portion.. or Rob starting blurring and it turned out to be unnecessary.
Alex A they where regular street ports not bridge ports. There's plenty of shots of them not blurred.
"Bridge ports" where's the bridge at? they're just the ports, big ol extended ports, but ports. bridge ports look much different :)
Probably a hentai joke. Blurring the soon-to-be-oily thanks to the OMP holes.
Thanks for taking the time to give us this content man! Looking forward to installation and first start uP!
Watching Abel put this 3 rotor together is like a work of art. And kudos to him listening to A&B group therapy👍
misterjimmy I was just about to say the same thing. 2 things near and dear to my heart are rotaries, & Trance. Abel & Rob have good taste in music.
Thanks for restoring one of the most exiting engine concepts, that was developed in the last century. Would be great, to here it running. I love that sound. Little bit like a 2 stroke. great job.
I love the way this gentleman assembles engines with such care. That's the way I do it. Ever so carefully.
Why are the ports blurred?
yo mean why are the ports not blurred? like exactly 50% of the shots he forgets to blur them
i thought about that as well but there are parts where he didn't blur the ports
i noticed that to. Why would you do that?
Maybe didn't want anyone to copy the port work
Unless he is just screwing with us he would have blurred them because if your a pro rotary tuner/builder like Abel you dont want people copying the way you re-port the engine. its to keep a secret a secret. but if it was to keep it secret Rob messed up big time XD
Abel is a rotary God. I’m glad he’s helping you the 3 rotor gonna be brand new!
It is so satisfying watching Abel building the rotary
Thanks for sharing Abel working his rotary magic!
I've watched you for a couple years now but this video and montage of him building the motor was so relaxing.. I can't wait to see what this thing does.
best 3 rotor video yet thank you
Watching this is almost therapeutic
Watchting this expert engine building process was sick!!
Best video yet by Rob Dahm !
Good ol' DI Radio and building engines. Two of my fav things. Can't wait to see it running again.
Abel Ibarra, a name I haven't heard since late 90s early 2000s. Glad to see he's back into the rotary game!
Ill never forget the first time i learned what a rotary engine was. When explained i was like 'nahhhh. An engine has pistons. Not doritos.'
Showed me a video of how it worked and I've never been the same... been obsessed ever since.
By the far the best car related video ive watched on youtube rotary motor build so mesmerizing good work rob and abel!
This shop is awesome! Listening to group therapy with above and beyond 👌
Why is it so relaxing watching a rotary being put back together? i feel so at peace now lol
The trance fits this build process so well.
Abel has magic hands!!!
Above and Beyond for the engine building win 😀
this is so satisfying to watch
this darn guy is an artist.
Seeing this has me so curious about building a 3 rotor and I have no knowledge how to do so but my curiosity is getting the better of me
The most beautiful thing i ever watched Rob Dahm! I think you'll crack 1000hp easily with this
Thank you for making good movies on RUclips all the time.👍👍
above&beyond in the background... props!
Best engine assembly i've seen
Abel, is a wizard!!!!
Watching this man's hands work got me excited
Brought a tear to my eye
Literally I was hipnotized watching the video nice job
These engines are so beautiful, interesting, amazing, strange! I really hope to build one someday... might be fun to put one in a Porsche 914 or Fiat x19 .... so many projects, so little time/money.
I need to find me a cheap rx8.. this channel is giving me the need for some rotary goodness
Looking forward for the rest, so stoked to see the rotary legend Abel work on stuff...
Hey Rob, what's with the blurring on some of the parts? It only happens sometimes so I'm confused
special things Abel does that he doesn't want others to do!!!
its japanese rotary porn.
its a japanese porn joke, Rob is making the joke that the port work is so good its basically pornographic
Shout out Rob!!! Coming all the way from Trinidad!!
Wow! I’m not a rotory guy but this was awesome to look at!
This is certainly the most brappalicious video I've watched in a good, long while. Can't wait to see the car back in action.
Abel Ibarra is the best.
Hi Dahm! Don't know if you'll see this but I think it's interesting that you have AN fittings for the oil lines while there's also AN fittings in the custom watercooling hobby for computers
I WISH THIS IS LONGER. I WANT MORE ROBBB
Above & Beyond is great!! I had the privilege to see them live recently at a private venue. Oh hey nice 3 rotor BTW xD
Omg this is so satisfying to watch! Go Abel & Dahm!
we once put a rotary engine in a sand rail, that thing was bad ass.would pull the front wheels up without a second thought.
This was awesome to watch man. Ive never seen a 20B put together piece by piece. All it does is make me more and more interested in rotary's A+ Rob! Now the only thing that's left is to rewire the entire chassis of the FD, because looking at it gives me anxiety.
building a masterpiece... while listening to ABGT. I'm impressed.
thats a weird looking v8
That is because it is a V9, there are three V’s in a triangle.
i dont trust an engine ran by the Illuminati, then again i would like to call this engine the tri-force lol
I think it's the new Ls motor
Its a rotary not a v8...
MineLine26 Whoosh
watching this... is.....AWESOME!!!!
Abel is amazing. I love watching artists and or masters of their craft at work. Its amazing.
Awesome 3 rotors. You guys done a great job. Thumbs up
I'm enjoying watching your good video.
I support you in Korea.
Yoooooo Rob! Good werk with the vids man. Stoked to see your 3 rotor coming back alive
Sir Rob Dahm do you have any update on the 4 rotor? It has been a while since the last update on the 4 rotor
Now I understood why one of the irons is twice as thick as the others 2. Great build!
Finally something rotary related
WE NEED A 4 ROTOR UPDATE, please and ty
The R100, the RX7, and the RX8 drag cars that Abel built are great race cars to keep in a museum; or to take on tour to a import drag race reunion. Like a import cackle fest type race.
it's so weirld seeing an engine being built by layers like a cake
Nice music in the workshop background 👌
I approve of the music selection in that shop!
That's awesome, I always wanted to see one put together. Abel def knows what's up. It was pretty trick how those apex seals go in.
Listening to Above and Beyond while you work? Definitely approved
The man listens to see one awesome music building motors. My kind of dude
Omg what is that beautiful swirling object at 7:40. Amazing engineering.
Should have added an oil pan brace. Beautiful build Rob.
i like abel's background playlist
Amazing video, brought tears to my eyes!
Also, I’m drunk
Curious as to why you didn't go with a P-port if you're going to be pushing massive power
My virgin eyes can't handle this it's too pure. I need a premix cleansing from Abel himself.
All the drama of a Vegas magician as he places those parts in place.
It's nice that he listens to Group Therapy as well. :)
👏👏👏 muy cuidadosos y detallistas. Felicitaciones y saludos desde Argentina.
Nice build dude.
Great video and work.
Awesome video!
Cant wait for this motor to come to life again :)
Above and beyond.. thumbs up for me!!
Is Abel and Rob Above & Beyond // Anjunabeats fans??! Anjunafam!!
Tiny hammer followed up with giant torque wrench is the best part

Thanks for playing.
All clean,good job really!
Now please see this video:
(Mazda Rx8 motor rotativo reparación parte 1).
Wow
He makes rotary engines seem so simple
this was awesome 👍👍👍
That engine is so cool
