One of Animosity's more underrated lyrics is "If karma doesn't hit you then I will" and Ale's single note drop at 4:05 I think is the musical equivalent of that feeling when your heart drops thinking of a bad relationship. One thing I've noticed about QotMS is the Hammond organ portion early in the song (6:36 in the video) reminds me of "No Return" by Alanis used as the theme to the TV show Yellowjackets. They're similar enough that every time I listen to QotMS, I think of Yellowjackets. That is part of the magic of The Warning: they use musical tricks that remind the listener of others songs or artists without directly copying them. That takes skill.
This song is about an ex friend of Paus who wanted her to hang out and basiclay said dont bother with the band its not going anywhere . So she wrote this . . . The person is still in Paus freinds group thru knowing other people . . . Hence the line . . ...... I hope to god you know . This smile is just for show . . TWA have a saying . . . One of my favorite things about The Warning's performances are in the little things. For example, Pau mouthing "pow!" or "bam!" on certain hits; Ale lip syncing her favorite bit of the sermon in Dust to Dust, despite being nowhere near a mic; and Dany at the start of this version of Animosity, where she points twice into the crowd right in time with Pau's cymbal hits.
It's always great to see anyone "off-mic" sing along with the song. It shows the whole band "feels" what they are playing. I look for that alot at live shows ⚡️⚡️🤘🧸

*Queen of the Murder Scene* (aka QOTMS) is the title song of their 2nd album... a concept album written when Dany (guitar) and Pau (drums) were barely teenagers! the album tells the foreboding dark story of unrequited love and the Queen through her battles between good and evil over her soul... the full story of the concept album is best experienced in order from *Dust to Dust* all the way to *The End (Stars Always Seem To Fade)* ... this title song of the album depicts the evil side of the Queen flaunting its immortality and some might also say its immorality... *Animosity* Dany (guitar) works hard to get the emotion correct that Pau (drums) was experiencing when she wrote this song... *Animosity* was spawned from a childhood friendship breaking up... basically the story is that someone said something like, "come hang out with us. that band thing won't go anywhere. why are you wasting your time?" well, you can imagine how that went over... TWA like to joke that the moral of the story is "Don't upset Pau or you may be memorialized in a song" 😹 *Fade Away* from the _"Escape the Mind"_ EP is similar to *Animosity* in that both talk about moving on after others have attempted to sully your drive and determination... i can easily see both of them being initially developed around the same time frame... _some lyrics from _*_Fade Away_*_ :_ They told me I couldn't do it That I would stumble and fall I would get cuts and bruises That I just should give up [...] And I'll walk, walk Walk until the very top And I'll run, run Even though I stumble and fall And I'll jump, jump Jump until I reach the sun And I'll shine, shine Shine until my light fades away TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
