You might be holding your hands too close in the guard. Try sliding your non dominant hand further down to the pommel, and remember to switch the hammer grip in your dominant hand to a "handshake" or "pistol" grip when you reach the apex of the cut (when the point of the sword has traveled the maximum natural distance on its arc)
Well... my critique is that he even doesnt check if the students are doing it correctly. Some of them just stand there with blank expression trying to grasp what it what exactly they should do. If they paid for lesson... Well, as much as I love Matt Easton videos, it was money bad spent.
@@matthewpham9525 Whilst the most you have done is register a 'look at me' keyboard complaint about a small portion of a real well attended class. Pointless posing award is all yours.
@@worldofmartialartstelevision The most I've done actually is look at people when I see they're struggling. I KNOW you can see the blank stares of the students
Historically speaking, the term 'Longsword' is really versatile and applies to a wide variety of swords you can hold in 2 hands. An rpg "bastard sword" is a longsword. A "greatsword" is also a type of longsword. Conventially, most modern longsword fencers go for a length around 150cm
Just don't get the Honshu "single-handed broadsword." This sword is crap. Mine broke within 3 hours of ownership in the hands of an eight-year old boy cutting squash on the ground. Sure, the sword was hitting the ground a bit, but the weld broke inside the pommel. This sword is beefy, actually too heavy for comfortable one-handed use, but has a severe weakness with the spot-welded threaded rod inside the handle. I am very disappointed in my purchase of this sword.
You will be surprised how lovely and useful the two edges are when fighting with a Medieval sword.
I love all the clueless looks from the students. Haha
I want to be like Geralt of Rivia
I just love this guy...
I wish this was the power attack for the Blodskal Blade in Skyrim.
Tfw you see one of your favourite vloggers in a video like this
My left hand keeps hitting my right arm. Any suggestions?
Don't.
if I guessing correctly,ur right and left hand are to close to each other.right hand near to corss guard, left hand hold the pommel.
Get a restraining order against your left hand on behalf of your right arm.

Excellent.
What manuscript are you using?
Daisy is a Secret Unicorn Description says Fiore and I'm pretty sure that Matt works off the Getty version :)
Do you have any dvd's?

DOH... I'm sure Matt would welcome your help and insight into teaching a 2 hour class just come along and show him how to do it.

Given how poorly the class was taught, that isn’t a bad plan. The least he can do is glance at the students behind him.

Just, how large is a greatsword? These longswords look like what I know from the videogames as greatswords. (Bastardsword)

I'm always scared if I try this with a real sword I'll eventually slice off part of my scalp.
Bruh I came here to play chivalry 2 realistically
