They REALLY should have left this in. It makes more sense with the whole "I love you Mr. Jefferson" scene, even if it does make him look suspicious. It makes him more of a central character, which should have been the point. Build up his character more to make the twist seem more shocking.
Same, but I do think the little we saw of him in the game helped him seem less relevant as a suspect. Like, we saw enough of him to like him/be neutral on him and not enough to start heavily suspecting

With all that we've learned from episode 4 about Jefferson, all I see when he looks at Max in episodes 1 and 2 in class is him plotting out a way to lure her into his trap; she'd be an easy target for Jefferson because while she's nosy, she's also very sensitive and she wouldn't turn down an offer from her favorite teacher. He would've had her stick around to discuss her "future in photography" in the privacy of his office, give her a spiked drink, and then it's off to the Dark Room with an unconscious Max when nobody is around to see it happen. :o

This makes me feel weird... I know that he's the main 'bad guy', but this makes me feel a connection with him. Maybe they didn't add this into the game because they didn't want you to feel more attached, but (spoilers) it would make me feel more surprised about when he shoots Chloe and drugs Max.
this is actually terrifying. if you don’t count joyce, max doesn’t have an adult figure to look up to while she’s at blackwell, seeing as she left her parents behind in seattle and they don’t seem to talk often. having mr. jefferson appear as the nice guy and making it seem like he actually cares about max gets her to let her guard down. it seems like she’s got someone there for her. and then that sense of security is ripped away. this kind of manipulation is horrifying in my opinion. i know for a fact i’d fall for this act and that’s what makes it scarier for me.

I suspected this sick bastard had something to do with this, but still I was a little surprised by the end of episode 4. I just had a sick feeling about him, talk about Max being nosy, he was always asking her about Kate. Like he actually gave a damn. I discovered this feeling at the end of episode 2, especially the part when he and Principal Wells were talking.
Whoa... Can't believe it's already five years ago (no pun intended) since LiS started an I'm still finding new stuff I didn't know about this wonderful adventure. Oh my, I love hearing Max' voice. She truly is my everyday hero.
Honestly, I don't know whether or not they made the right decision not to include this scene. Sure, it would have built up more of Jefferson's character in the eyes of the player, and it definitely would have made (SPOILERS) his reveal as the killer much more impactful, but even more than risking revealing too much, when you think about where this was placed in the timeline of episode 3, I kinda get why they took it out. It's right in between when you have your argument with Chloe about her and William and when you rewind to when he is alive. The rewind to the past is more engrossing because you just talked to Chloe about it one scene before, so all that information is fresh in your mind. Whereas if they kept this scene in between, there's a bit of a tonal disconnect and it's harder to transition from nostalgia, to getting to know Mr. Teacher, to going straight back to the past. I do believe that this scene would definitely have helped in the payoff of the reveal, but if it was kept here, it would have been detrimental to the arc of the story. Maybe if they had found a way to place this scene somewhere else, at a time when the focus is Max's aspirations for the future, it could have worked out. At least, I think it could have.
If you don't report Nathan in Episode 1 and accuse him in Episode 2, or you don't take a picture of David and Kate and you accuse David in Episode 2, Max will end up being suspended

Hes still a cool character! Mr. Jefferson really brought the game to the dark side. Pretty crazy that everyone was surprized, that hes the 'killer' but no one can say hes not a bit of a James Bond or Sherlock Holmes. Chloe is obviously still the best character, though! Hella awesome :D
Wow, this cut out a good chunk of character development for Chloe and Jefferson. Because them going to "I'm so sorry Max" and "I'm so evil Max", just really soured the last episode.
The Jefferson between episodes 1-3, and early episode 4 are actually pretty cool. When I saw the end of episode 4, I was hoping that the "real" Jefferson wasn't the case, and that he only.... killed Chloe for a noble reason. Say for example: Chloe being one of the major causes of the tornado and Jefferson knowing somehow? That would have been a much bigger plot twist than the character he turned out to be in Episode 5.
It's only just now that I'm considering that he could have been a time traveler as well... The way he seems to teleport around in EP5. Killing Nathan, Victoria, and capturing Max in such a short time is one hint. There are a bunch of other similar hints. It would have made for a really interesting reveal. Maybe it's still possible with a sequel.
There wasn't a lot of interaction opportunity with Jefferson in the game. They should have kept this lines. It's great. It really shows how Jefferson is able to manipulate Nathan into his Father figure with all the caring speech. Would have made a bigger shocker when its revealed his the bad guy.
It's stuff like this is why I can never fully "hate" LiS. It has a real nice charm to it and scenes like this really help ground the story. It's the not the best written game in the world but there was love put into which I can respect.

Called it from the first episode that Mr Jefferson would end up being a psychopath, knew the game opening in his class would be important later on 😃 Also, I could always tell David was a good guy all along too and Frank is also not a bad guy, just made bad choices and struggles to show his kindness

I just looked through the game's files. For Episode 3 and 4 there are a few cut voice lines, there was a whole section for this conversation which was skipped in-game. I just grabbed all the randomly placed voicelines, and reordered them the way I thought was better. If you're interested, I put up a video called "Nathan's Other Side" which lets you listen to some cut voicelines from Episode 4.
My grade 7 teacher was, and still is a really cool guy, used to be in a rock band, wore an earring, and DJed all the school dances. He also unfortunately looks like a dead ringer for Jefferson. Of course, its been many years and now he's much much older 🥲 still a cool guy though.

Honestly, I don't know whether or not they made the right decision not to include this scene. Sure, it would have built up more of Jefferson's character in the eyes of the player, and it definitely would have made

his reveal as the killer much more impactful, but even more than risking revealing too much, when you think about where this was placed in the timeline of episode 3, I kinda get why they took it out. It's right in between when you have your argument with Chloe about her and William and when you rewind to when he is alive. The rewind to the past is more engrossing because you just talked to Chloe about it one scene before, so all that information is fresh in your mind. Whereas if they kept this scene in between, there's a bit of a tonal disconnect and it's harder to transition from nostalgia, to getting to know Mr. Teacher, to going straight back to the past.
I do believe that this scene would definitely have helped in the payoff of the reveal, but if it was kept here, it would have been detrimental to the arc of the story. Maybe if they had found a way to place this scene somewhere else, at a time when the focus is Max's aspirations for the future, it could have worked out. At least, I think it could have.

If you don't report Nathan in Episode 1 and accuse him in Episode 2, or you don't take a picture of David and Kate and you accuse David in Episode 2, Max will end up being suspended

+5kyLegend Not just that - I've hid the truth from principal Wells and accused Nathan and he still got suspended, Max only needed to explain she was too scary to tell about that gun incident. I think you also need to do something else. Probably it's dependent on whatever Kate lives, or died, as on other time told principal about Nathan and Kate jumped, accused Nathan, and principal believed.
+KoraxProductions The third factor is actually dependent on if you take the blame for Chloe's joint in episode one, if I recall. Wells is apparently made aware of that incident and doesn't trust Max's word.

Mr. Jefferson really brought the game to the dark side. Pretty crazy that everyone was surprized, that hes the 'killer' but no one can say hes not a bit of a James Bond or Sherlock Holmes.

Just adding these conversations in episode 3 would make jefferson seem even more innocent even though max was clearly his next target after kate.
Wow, this cut out a good chunk of character development for Chloe and Jefferson. Because them going to "I'm so sorry Max" and "I'm so evil Max", just really soured the last episode.

The Jefferson between episodes 1-3, and early episode 4 are actually pretty cool. When I saw the end of episode 4, I was hoping that the "real" Jefferson wasn't the case, and that he only....
killed Chloe for a noble reason. Say for example: Chloe being one of the major causes of the tornado and Jefferson knowing somehow? That would have been a much bigger plot twist than the character he turned out to be in Episode 5.
It's only just now that I'm considering that he could have been a time traveler as well... The way he seems to teleport around in EP5. Killing Nathan, Victoria, and capturing Max in such a short time is one hint. There are a bunch of other similar hints. It would have made for a really interesting reveal. Maybe it's still possible with a sequel.

There wasn't a lot of interaction opportunity with Jefferson in the game. They should have kept this lines. It's great. It really shows how Jefferson is able to manipulate Nathan into his Father figure with all the caring speech. Would have made a bigger shocker when its revealed his the bad guy.

It's stuff like this is why I can never fully "hate" LiS. It has a real nice charm to it and scenes like this really help ground the story. It's the not the best written game in the world but there was love put into which I can respect.

God, I have a love-hate relationship with Jefferson’s character. I hate that he’s a pshycopath, but I love that he’s very smart and actually kinda funny. Kinda wish someone else was the bad guy and not Jefferson.

I always suspected that Jefferson had something to do with Rachel's disappearance (Due to Stella in episode 1, referring to Rachel and Jefferson's sexual relationship). Regardless, I still very much liked his character. Too bad he turned out to be guilty ;c

The way that he got mad at Max for being nosy is hilarious. I wonder if that was an optional choice or something she says regardless. I also wonder if there was originally a way to call him out on how he spoke to Kate before they cut this. He's so terrible if you overhear their conversation and when you talk to him about her. Anyway, it must've been crushing to find out that her favorite teacher was such a monster. I'm so glad Jefferson never travels to to the museum with Max. No telling what would have happened. I wish this wasn't cut.

Where were these scenes in the game? I't's so disappointing! I really love the twist of Jefferson being evil and such, but I immediately smelled a rat when he talked to Kate in episode 2. In my opinion, there were too many times were Jefferson was acting a bit strangely for me to not suspect him. I feel that if these scenes WERE in the game, I would've suspected him much less.

If Jefferson wasn't a huge creep and did what he did in the game, than he would have been a great character, I remember him being my favourite because he was supportive, after playing the game and seeing the end of episode 4 I think it was, my perceptive changed on him.

When he's talking about Nathan, emphasizing "don't let HIM scare you" is a very subtle clue. This is cool how did you get a hold of this deleted scene?
I just looked through the game's files. For Episode 3 and 4 there are a few cut voice lines, there was a whole section for this conversation which was skipped in-game. I just grabbed all the randomly placed voicelines, and reordered them the way I thought was better.
If you're interested, I put up a video called "Nathan's Other Side" which lets you listen to some cut voicelines from Episode 4.
I wish my technology teacher was like Mr Jefferson. Apart from the murder and all that obviously.
My grade 7 teacher was, and still is a really cool guy, used to be in a rock band, wore an earring, and DJed all the school dances. He also unfortunately looks like a dead ringer for Jefferson. Of course, its been many years and now he's much much older 🥲 still a cool guy though.
