I LOVE the mixing on this track! Good sound engineers make sure we can hear all elements of a band clearly, and we can certainly hear everyone here. Strong driving bass, powerful drums, fantastic lead guitar, and all vocals (which often doesn't happen). Wonderful ensemble playing, supported by a great crew on the sound desk, and excellent light show.
@KeenlyJohnas I don’t really think the lead singer was imitating Mark Knopfler at all. His “that’s the way you DO IT” sounded more like someone from a motor cycle gang who is in utter love with the song and paying their own homage with the emphasis of the way they heard it sung by Knopfler, Meaning I still think it sounded cool, but not an imitation by any means of the original artist.
That is such a difficult song to perform live to sound that close to the record and they nailed it, especially Howie on lead and vocals. Every last person watching should have been on their feet.
You know you're getting old when you see a whole audience of old folks listening to rock music. We didn't think we would ever get old but it slipped up on us.
after watching over 10 uploads from you guys, the whole team, I mean from front end to back end, all are very talented and professional. You are not a covering band, you are a group of very high level musican. Respect!!

@@tigervv6437 not sure about it. I think Dire Straits had very high sound quality and played with great precision, so Dire straits sound was ''clean'', just maybe recordings in youtube are not very high quality so it sounds a bit ,,dirty''. But I agree, that its the best Dire straits cover, its very hard to play this song in the right way, but they did it perfectly
@@MemeNatorius I don’t know if you have ever listened to live versions, but Mark tends to deviate quite a bit from the studio version. Especially in his later period. Not only improvising the solo’s, but generally having a different sound than on the recordings. He said himself in an interview that he thought the studio version was too clean in retrospect. I‘ve seen him live several times and there are also high quality soundboard recordings on youtube from various concerts. Mark can be extremely clean live, especially on his earlier work, but usually not on Money for Nothing.
@@tigervv6437 so by playing clean you mean playing the same like in the recordings? If this is the case, so yeah dire straits never play the same like in the recordings.
One of the best covers I think I've heard of the song... and yeah, keeping the (original) lyrics was ballsy... but given the performance they gave I'd say worth it. They did the gentlemen responsible for the song a tribute
