Evelin, the founder of Human Dignity and Humiliation Studies (HumanDHS), and Linda, the director of HumanDHS, delve into themes of connection, mutuality, humility, and love. Together, they explore how these values shape our understanding of dignity and our roles as global citizens.
    Evelin Lindner is a medical doctor and clinical psychologist with a PhD in Medicine and a PhD in psychology, specializing in the dynamics of humiliation related to war and genocide. She founded Human Dignity and Humiliation Studies (HumanDHS), a global network promoting dignity and addressing humiliation. Her notable works include "Making Enemies: Humiliation and International Conflict," "Gender, Humiliation, and Global Security" (with a Foreword by Desmond Tutu), and "From Humiliation to Dignity" (with a Foreword by Howard Richards). She is the co-founder of the World Dignity University.
    Linda Hartling has a PhD in clinical/community psychology and is the Director of Human Dignity and Humiliation Studies. Dr. Hartling has published papers on Relational-Cultural Theory, workplace practices, resilience, substance abuse prevention, and the psychological and social impact of humiliation. Dr. Hartling is co-editor of The Complexity of Connection: Writings from the Jean Baker Miller Training Institute at the Stone Center (2004) and Human Dignity: Practices, Discourses, and Transformations. Dr. Hartling is the author of the first research instrument to assess the internal experience of humiliation, the Humiliation Inventory, which has been translated into many languages to conduct research around the world. She is also the co-founder of the World Dignity University.
