    I wasn't even given an interview. Despite what Harvard is stating on this video, Harvard prioritizes giving interviews to people they are more interested in admitting. If you are not given an interview, in true effect, you have already been denied. Harvard admitted this under oath in the SFFA lawsuit.

      is this true? They did state that no interview will not negatively affect your application, but logistically an interview will positively affect it.

    if I have no interview invitation, does that mean I'm already denied in your pool?

    • @Dakosx
      @Dakosx 10 месяцев назад +6

      nope it doesn't mean you have been rejected. The alumni interviews happen based on region. Some students will get an interview and some won't, but there is no need to worry because the interviewer doesn't get any info about your application (so its not like they choose you based on your grades or your stats). Interviews happen based on availability of alumni in your area. If you didn't get an interview it probably means that currently, there aren't any alumni available which doesn't mean you have been automatically rejected. You might also get an interview later on and not at the same time as some of your classmates or friends. So moral of the story, dont worry mate. You can get into Harvard or any other school for that matter, without being invited to have an interview. Hope this helped.

    What I think is inappropriate is that some alumni ask for your resume. I wouldn’t feel comfortable giving it to a stranger. I had one alum call from his car while he was driving which I thought was inconsiderate and another from outside the country and connection wasn’t great.

    • @EllisD.WilsonJr

      I disagree w/ you, respectfully. Anytime someone can meet w/ you or find the time to speak w/ you regarding admissions it’s a good time to speak. That’s the time that works best for them at that moment & also the resume allows admissions to get a good understanding of your background. Now if you feel uncomfortable about your experiences then that’s understandable. But it shouldn’t be a problem or concern for a member of admissions to contact you from any location or have an unconventional method of interviewing. Consider yourself fortunate to get a select call that might change the trajectory of your life. Good Luck with the interview.
