My wife has had a Stelvio for two years. She’s driven Mercedes, BMW, Audi…and Alfa is seriously one of the very best cars she’s ever owned and it is every bit as fun as any of her Bimmers. We’ve not had one single solitary problem. Flawless.
It's funny to me how much people put interior tech over performance. Go and test drive the Stelvio instead of basing your decisions on a video and a touch screen. The new digital cluster gives you great features and sticks to performance features that you would expect! And don't forget that this platform was derived by a Ferrari designer (458 Italia) along with the Alfa Romeo designers. That is what sets the Giulia and Stelvio models apart from the rest.
I mean what do you expect from people that don’t know any car history nor how an engine works and how to judge a good car from a bad car. The attention to detail on the Alfa is unknown by most of drivers, for example almost nobody knows that the Stelvio suspensions are very sophisticated and they were engineered by the same engineer who realized the Ferrari Enzo suspensions.
Because most people drive cars normally and only care about how comfortable they'll be sitting in it for hours, how will they be able to play their music, will their portable cups fit in the cupholders, how quickly does it get warm/cool, how much trunk space it has, and how much it'll cost to get an oil change/new tires. People who car about performance are looking for cars specifically sports cars, not SUVs.
I’ve owned the 2018 stelvio for five years, and I drove across the French Alps and Swiss peaks but not yet been to the Dolomites Stelvio pass, this suv is more sophisticated in its chassis, drivetrain, and overall design than x3 or even macan. It’s ideal composition is without competition for highway and mountain passes where x5 or cayenne is too large. Rare beauty.
I own that exact model and color. It’s been a great car and I love it. I cross shopped the Volvo xc60 r Audi sq5 and bmw x3 m packed and the alfa is was the winner. I don’t car for the tech inside the car. I never look at the back up screen I just use my mirrors and I plug my phone in and just use my Spotify and gps works perfectly. With it in dynamic mode you can switch the suspension dampers to soft. I never do. I get in it switch it right to dynamic mode and go. N or A mode I’ll use on the highway if I’m just cruising in the right lane.
I paid cash for two BMW X4’s. 21 X4 30i and 23 X4 M40i. I kept nothing for only a year. Before it depreciated anymore i sold both and have an Alfa again. 24 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Veloche and i absolutely love this freaking car. Couldn’t say this about the BMW’s although i really wanted to. The drive is like comparing apples and oranges. The Stelvio drives like a sports car; its sexy and fun! If you wNt technology get the bimmer but if you want a fun drive get the Alfa. Love this freaking car!!!! ❤
Okay I'm going to say this one thing to the question in hand. Is the Alfa Romeo Stelvio better than the BMW X3? My response is hell yeah it's better. Better looking better driving and it can actually draw attention to itself.
Great review. As we say in England, no matter the consequences, you have to have an Alfa once in your life. Now they're back in the U.S. where I live now, this is a real possibility.
I mean there is no comparison between any German to these Alfas; there are real badass engineers from Ferrari, Maserati and Alfa Romeo behind the last Alfa Romeo models which is a knowledge and richness that any German engineer recognizes and admires, there is nothing to comment against, they are the leader in all their segments as well engine, platform, brakes, suspensions, weight, aerodynamics, etc. are the top of the top that you can get today and these two teenagers obviously judge a vehicle by the digital entertainment when the real entertainment of a car is supposed to be the drive and performance indeed 🤦♂️
This is very underrated. I sometimes forget it exist. And its not a bad car, that i think should be recognized more. Though it is showing its age in terms of technology. Kind of reminds me of 2018. Flashbacks basically. Though i do like what they did with the headlights
The only thing I don't like about my Stelvio Quad is that the proximity luck/unlock handles are in the front seats. So you must briefly touch the driver/passenger door to unlock your car before loading kids. It is extremely good value if you buy it used. It has amazing handling for a SUV. If you don't get the Quad which I think you should, the 2.0 can be tuned for more performance than you could on the X3.
I own a 2019 Stelvio with 43k miles on it. Yes, i dont drive much. I traded in a 2013 BMW 328 at the time. The BMW needed very expensive repairs at 100k miles and turned me away from the brand. The Stelvio has been trouble free until two weeks ago, when the fuel pump quit working and the engine started leaking oil. Thankfully the warranty covered the cost. I still love my Stelvio but I’ll probably switch to Honda next because i dont want to be stranded on the highway again with my dogs in tow.
Beautiful, but I have a question, I'm thinking of giving myself something new for Christmas, which one would you buy this Alfa Romeo or would you buy the Genesis Gv70 3.5 Prestige?
@@CarConfections The gv70 has me in love with that very modern red interior, the only thing I don't like very much is the size but it's probably because I have a 2021 pilot elite and maybe it's difficult for me to go down to a smaller SUV but I'm in love, although I also have in mind the Mercedes GLS or the Range Rover Sport although the investment is double the Genesis

However with their latest model range, I think Alfa will beat both BMW and Mercedes in the non M and AMG sector. Every car guy must get an Alfa Romeo?!

But turns out there was a reason for that - replacing the whole infotainment with a newer uconnect would require to go over the all certifications and safety tests again, separately for EU and NA.
