  • Hello everyone,
There is also a narrated Version of the working process:
    • POTTERY AT HOME - Hand...
In this video I show you how I make a bird feeder using the pinching technique.
You don’t need any special tools or pottering wheel for this project!
This time I work with stoneware clay.
Stoneware clay needs to be fired in a kiln, if you don’t have your own, check out www.kilnshare.com to find one in your area or ask google for a pottery studio in your area that offers a burning service ;)
The clay I used for this project is a speckled STONEWARE CLAY with 20% chamotte.

the glaze shows as gloss white in the link but in your bird feeder i see it as slightly speckled ... or is that my poor eye sight :)

The speckless are in the clay I used, but there is also glazes that have that type of effect. Hope that helps :)

Why the small holes at the bottom?

So the rain water can drain ;)

Does your work board have any type of finish on it?

No, it's a bamboo cutting board. So no finish :)
