I love all of your videos. Thank you for going into great detail and providing such beautiful reels!!!!! I love you thank you. I have followed your Instagram for a long time now and I am starting to work on lidded forms. Will attempt to make some of these today!
Hey Florian, you are doing a great job with your you-tube channel! You inspire a bunch of amateur potters and I am sure in the coming weeks and months enough people will find and follow your channel so that this channel can become an extra way of earning money as a professional potter! If you need some inspiration for a new video, I am interested in the way you make your glazes, and would also love to learn more about firing a gas kiln 😉
Thank you! Well, the covering really depends, there's no exact answer. It depends on the type of clay, how you finished it on the wheel, what the weathers like, what the environment in your studio is like, and so on. So I can't give you an exact answer as there are so many variables. Generally at the moment, in the August here in the UK, I'll throw pots and then leave them very lightly covered overnight, (with plastic sheeting positioned as so it doesn't actually touch any of the pots, so it's more like a tent), then, in the morning, I'll uncover them and leave them to dry out further throughout the day until they're leather hard. At the moment as it's very rainy here and cold they can even take another day and night before they reach the right consistency, whereas in the summer, I need to thoroughly wrap the pots overnight otherwise they'll be too firm and almost bone dry come the morning. So, there's lots of considerations when making and it absolutely depends on your situation as for how long you should leave pots for before trimming them.
@@floriangadsby I know it's irrelevant, but I didn't notice your face until I saw your hands looking sexy and read you're from the UK. Anyway, just commenting that I came to watch the pottery process, and I ended up with an inspiration for an erotic romance novel.
No talking. No music. Just the visual beauty of an artist at work. Great video!

Loved the video. Thank you ! One question : how long do you cover the pots prior trimming it ?

I wonder what all this clay work does to the hands are they more soft or dry and rough like a labourer
you are amazing
Hi florian, great videos, thank so
Much. I was wondering why the mirror in front of you?
so he can see another view of the form hes throwing i think.
That jug would look so cute together with coffee.
Edit: What clay do you use?
this is a gud vid keep it up dude
Nice, thanks! How closely do you weigh your clay balls?
Cheers, I generally weigh out plus or minus 10 grams. But for smaller pots I tend to weigh them out pretty much perfectly.
Did you fire the pieces together
I do! You can see how I do so at the beginning of this video, ruclips.net/video/BZSnnhjntvA/видео.html
Do ypu remember how tall these are im trying to make roughly the same dimensions so i was hoping for a little help
Nice
