If you have in-game subtitles on, then you can see that the words "and then there will be" are marked as REDACTED, so we weren't supposed to hear them. Looks like GLaDOS accidentally forgot to glitch this part out.

@@avi8aviate actually her words were "you will be baked and then cake will be served" but what I'm saying is that the cake is a lie as even though it's real it's told as a lie so you don't expect to be killed and at the end you see her in the cake room but she is being spied on by what looks to be evil cores with glowing eyes before the candle is put out so it's a lie as people are told about the cake but they never see it so it's a lie to the people as they are told they get it but what they only see is a fiery pit of doom so the survivors of the test go insane as they are told about cake but never see it so they think it's a lie as they never see the cake so they think it's nonexistent

s007913 The Source engine? Clearly. Portal was released in 2007, but Half Life 2 released in 2004, using the same engine.
The one that was ahead of the time was Half Life 2.
It uses the same engine as 2004. And it looks amazing. Halo 3 was made 3 years after half life 2 and it's graphics can not compare. Old valve ftw

it’s been couple years since ever seeing the walk through of portal. My older brother used to play portal 1 and 2 and I remember waking up early on weekends to watch him play it. Portal is one of the many games I haven’t found myself to watch any videos of or if newer ones were released because my brother committed suicide 4 years ago, I stopped playing any video games that triggered a nostalgic memory of him. And today I found the courage to watch this walk through. I’m very happy I did. thank you

that part I laughed the hardest at was the fact GlaDoS wasn't lying about the party etiquette position or the robot
Huh. There are a few things I didn't notice the first time. Like how GLaDOS looks completely different in the first game and how she somehow got moved from the surface back down to the Enrichment Center. Also, that ending with the cores turning on their lights shows how without GLaDOS, the facility is activating multiple cores (such as Wheatley) in her place to take care of it. That's why you don't see any cores on railings in the first game but do in the second game.
Wendigo Dragon I guess the glados parts fell back down after that parking lot looking area collapsed into a the massive space below. Glados doesn't look that different, really, other than the head. the body is still structured the same, though some parts are missing, such as the core plugs, by the time you reach her again, she adds onto herself, but when she wakes up, most of the parts of her are just more detailed. well, that, and she might be slightly bigger
Portal 1 takes place in an older area of the enrichment center.
In Portal 2 you find what is clearly the remains of chamber 19 a long way below GLaDOS, far further below her than it was in Portal 1.

For a game that's nearly 14 years old, the graphics age remarkably well! I loved playing Portal back in high school.

I'm fairly certain that you're controlling some random test subject when Portal 2 first starts. Chell's muscles would have completely deteriorated by the time she had awoken if she were always there. She wouldn't be able to get up at all.
I'd argue that one of the test subjects realized the voice on the intercom was automated, and instead chose to eat, watch TV, and stare at one painting until succumbing to cardiac arrest or possibly expiring from the neurotoxin flooding the facility (which explains the mattress indent).
@@RUclips.Commen-tater there are no other test subjects they died due to no life support Chell is the only one who survived beacuse of Doug Rattman who switched the last remaining power for her life support.

@@RUclips.Commen-tater if you place two portals in a corner you can look at the player's model. It's the same aside from the shirt, and Doug rattman only rerouted the power supply to one single relaxation vault, chell's, Obviously.

That is a mystery. There is no clarified answer if the cake is really a lie or not. Who knows, Wheatley's supposed "three portal device" could lead to a room with the cake in it.

I absolutely love this game. It's short, easy, simple, and has some replayability. I love it because it's a type of game that you would play and finish if you have some free time.

32:13 big brain. I've played this game multiple times, and each time I just jumped on a chair like a moron to get up there.
I just played and beat Portal for the first time. I'm blown away by 32:18...I never figured out that I could get the cube out of that. I moved a bunch of stuff from the office with the laser thing and somehow stacked it up enough to jump off of it instead. This video makes everything look so easy! Nice job!

1. I don't think that's her actual voice; it's probably Glados just being mean.
2. I theorize that Chell probably doesn't speak because it's either a medical condition, or she chooses not to speak because of all of the chaos she endures duing the tests.
3. If she did speak, I would absolutely LOL if she said this to Glados after being insulted: "Oh yeah? Well (raspberry). I...Am...Robot...Stereotype! (Imitating Glados) How do you like that you crazy glitch?!"

Suddenly? The morality cores that was attached to Glados were destroyed and then she received serious damage. And then in Portal 2 all that Caroline personality came out
It's not that she changed design as much as it is the result of the damage in the final boss. She's just missing the personality cores and parts of her metal covering are gone. But "technically" the design isn't changes. She's just damaged.

I beat Portal 1 two days ago. I came here for this part 32:15, because I had a feeling it was not intended to do it the way I did. I ran all the way back to the rocket firing core, picked up a chair and some other object. I stacked them and entered the vent lol.
Lol I had the exact same reaction because I did the same thing! I'm not sure I ever would have figured out the intended route!
