I liked Jinseok initially but this video made me like Minkyu more for the male contestant. For the female contestant, I will say Shieun because she was the least problematic. I like Hyeoson too but is still disappointed that she chose that man.

I agree with your view about the helicopter incident. Mr. Insecure knew he had Minji wrapped around his finger and he played her like a fiddle. She came to the show so confident and he broke her down and reduced her to a crying mess. It was honestly terrifying to see how successful he was at destroying the two girls’ confidence and gaslighting them.

I don't agree that Minji deserved to be dogpiled on but I do think her actions in the helicopter were disrespectful. This man was on a date with the girl sitting directly next to him I just don't think flirting with or "acting playful" is appropriate. It would be one thing if he initiated it, but the flirting was one sided, so unfortunately I don't feel bad that she was ignored and sad about it.
Same. Like I was like kind of annoyed with her behavior, you're on a date with someone else just pay attention to them. Also Gwan-hee was very honest about his feelings and the fact that she did the opposite anyway just made me confused as to why she was crying. A 26 yo girl with a guy in his late thirties isn't an age gap worth thinking about really, BUT I do think it's weird that every single girl is in her twenties and every guy in his thirties.... It definitely adds to the "women expire at 30" mindset and was probably on purpose. While guys being in their thirties isn't being treated with that kind of... disgust? Taboo? That would have lead to there being no older women here. A misogynistic double standard. Edit: Oh there's one young guy, but the pattern is the same otherwise. Him being there is a cool difference :)
But I guess another way to see it is that maybe there aren't as many women in their 30s and still single, because of that fear of "expiring" pushing women into relationships earlier, so there were less applicants? But I doubt it. The guys being in their thirties makes sense since they had impressive jobs that need time to develop. But the women being younger makes it harder for them to get the same level of achievements.

I never thought Minji was in the wrong in the helicopter. Kind of shocked people attacked her online because of that incident. If anything that scene where she starts crying because Kwan-hee was giving her the cold shoulder gave me the biggest ick for him. I was kinda so-so about him before but after that I physically cringed everytime he would appear on screen... I was sad for Minji for not being done with him after that because i guessed it would only lead to more heartbreak on her side, which it did (also Min-Kyu has the best manners. the way he offers up his shirt to wipe her tears and tries to comfort her is just so sweet) Great video! I watched it out if boredom and it really gripped me for some reason. I usually avoid dating shows like the plague. The women are far superiour to the male candidates…bakery man isn’t bad, though. I think you would love Heart Signal! It’s also a wholesome South Korean dating show with funny hosts reacting in studio. And it has an interactive game-like element because at the end of each episode, the hosts in the studio guess who they think will receive hearts from who (because basically at the end of every day, all players anonymously send “heart signals” to a person that they like in the house. The receiver has no idea who it is from) It’s so cute and so very heartfelt

I love Minji's flirting and playfulness. I was taking notes😂🤣 Glad to find another fan of hers cuz I was fighting for my life in the comments when the season was ongoing 😭😭😭 And the way people dogpiled on Minji for that plane ride incident was indeed crazy to me. I kept trying to bringing that Minji wouldn't know anything of how indecisive Gwan hee is and he'd been absolutely sweet like a full on boyfriend with her just a few hours before. Of course she thought they were locked in and just wanted to tease her "boyfriend" and make sure he's not upset. Later he literally admits that he _deliberately_ sat next to her to be petty😐😐 God I hated this guy's nonsense. At least he got about as much hate, but I think his actions were much worse.

Examples include cat-type, puppy-type, rabbit-type, and then there is the dinosaur-type, which refers to faces that are very three-dimensional and where there is an emphasis on the nose. To give you some examples of celebrities that Koreans think have this type of face: Kim Jonghyun, Kim Woo Bin, Donghae, etc. Normally this type of face is attributed to men and isn't considered offensive, rather it can be flattering, but if you say it to a woman it can feel like an insult.

We weren't meant to be but the times I had with her were amazing. I really did love her and I hope that she loved me in our time together too. URE SO RIGHT ABT GWANHEE IN THAT HELICOPTER he gives me horrible vibes. i know this is a reality show and i'm sure he's playing it up to get people talking abt him (esp in other seasons, singles inferno contestants sometimes feel like theyre prioritizing advertising their personal brands rather than finding love,,, which more power to them! lol), but he was so toxic and manipulative to all the women on that island. him being one of the oldest people on that island but acting so hot n cold and unserious wasn't charming, it was frustrating and at times made me actually uncomfortable watching. i know people love hajeong and gwanhee's banter, I DID TOO, but after a certain point, it just felt like he was chipping away at her just for the sake of doing so!!! icky!!!! also, i feel like the general audience's reaction to zone in one the girl in the helicopter (minji?) rather than fully acknowledge just how manipulative he was being was a DELIBERATE choice to avoid coming to terms with how weird of person gwanhee was in the show. i think thats also why the hosts tried saying later "oh he's just teasing her!!1!" when he said "dont talk to me 😀" bc how else are you gonna soften that blow?? 😭 enough yapping luv the vid

Also the men on this show were.......a choice. Gwanhee, having the worst child-man personality a 36 year old has ever had and still had 3 women fighting over him one of them being smarter than 3 gwanhees combined? scripted. wonik being objectively one of the most good looking guys there and being a one woman man but portrayed as a loser just because he had date/flirting anxiety? rough. Mingyu being an ABSOLUTE dream and ending up as a bit of a pushover? insane. habin being a waste of space. Minwoo looking like THAT but having less of a personality than a cardboard cutout? what a shame. Jinseok was the only one who came off well on screen from the guys. It def feels like they casted boring guys to make gwanhee seem interesting because I assure you if they had introduced another bad boy vibe guy all these girls would've gone for him because we girls really do like a thrill in the start of a relationship and boring just doesn't work the same way.
Every time I watch a western dating show and one person is like 22 and the other is 25 and they comment on the age gap, or how "young" the 22 year old is, I just die laughing. Like, you're basically the same age. My husband and I have a pretty significant age gap though so a few years is just silly.
Koreans count age differently so you have to substract 2 to get their western age, so the 22 yo is actually 20 and that’s why they’re commenting on how young she is
the reason why i think people were mad at Minji about the helicopter is that the paradise time is supposed to be a time where you focus on your date and getting to know them. So by her doing that she was being disrespectful to Minkyu which was a very loved participant but also to Hyesong by disturbing Gwanhee and trying to take his attention away from his date. and we all want the best for Hyesong haha. Gwanhee was the worst in this show but the entertainment value he brought can't be denied tbh.
idk if anyone said it before but there was a scandal in korea involving gwan-hee and Min-ji one of the girls who were chasing after him (I can't remember which one exactly), they apparently knew him on social media before the show and knew he came from a pretty rich family and that's why they wanted him, they went and deleted their comments and/or likes on his old insta post afterwards to hide that fact but screenshots were already up. idk how much it factored in their choice to keep going after him despite him being AWFUL but yknow, I'll never go against a woman in her bag
I'm on you with the criticism targeting Minji over GwanHee. He's leading those women, he's older so the responsibility lies more on him. He used grooming tactics on them and people are mad at the women because it actually worked? I was upset at Hajong because she did reprimand him just to go back to him. I also understand why Hyeseon was the favorite of the show. But people went beyond to hate Minji because they rooted for Hyeseon to get who she wants, even when that man was trash. Even in the post after the show, people were criticizing Minji for being close to Gwanhee in some of the pics instead of Hyeseon. I remembered that Hyeseon also had to publicly announced that she was not dating Gwanhee because people were upset that she seemed to have become closer to Wonik post production. And it's like, why the vitriol for the women and none for the man who has a decade, money, and fame over them. That was so irritating. As a side note: I would like to precise that all the bashing and criticism came from the western viewers of the show. And I only add it to showcase that the west. Is not as progressive as they think they are. This was clearly a display of internalized sexism since most of the audience are women. I can't speak on how the Korean audience reacted to these but from the commentators om the show, you can tell that tgey were disgusted and tired of Gwanhee's shit too.
About the hellicopter: I get your point and I would be caught deed before I ever defend gwanhee but minji was being SUCH a child, she was nudging him to the point where even hyeseon probably felt the push and not to mention mingyu literally seeing all this with his own eyes. whatever matter is between you two, resolve it by yourself don't make a scene and make other ppl feel uncomfortable so yeah she was definitely in the wrong there (and so was gwanhee but gwanhee is always wrong so its not even worth mentioning)
This was a really interesting video, thank you for your summary and commentary and for giving additional context! I never cared for dating shows until a RUclipsr I like to watch started regularly reacting to and making videos on Love is blind. I watched some of those for the RUclipsr but I still don‘t really care for the show itself. Single‘s inferno is the first dating show that I could see myself watching casually. It feels a lot less exploitative and sensationalized than others. Of course, it‘s still problematic to put people in a setting that creates artificial rarity and promotes very competitive behavior but it seems very mild and healthy in comparison to other shows I‘ve seen clips of. I like that all the conflict arose naturally and the producers seemingly gave them the space to resolve it. There were no screaming matches or any violence and it feels like everyone left the show with their dignity intact, even the ones who weren’t picked at the end. Which seems crazy to praise a show (with real people) for but I do feel like it deserves to be pointed out.

I absolutely loved this commentary. I would definitely watch if you would do videos on season 1 and season 2. There's another show Korean dating show i watched called My Sibling’s Romance. Crazy name, but it was super cozy, kinda conservative in a way that makes the romance elements feel so soft and pure. But there were definitely a few side eyes for some of the characters. For sure. The most recent season of Transit Love (other name is Exchange) was also bonkers. I'm losing my mind just thinking of it. I'd like to write an essay on how much im afraid of Gyuri, and how i wouldnt even fight her even if i saw her in the street because who knows what she would do to me, but i simply dont have the energy to tap back into the anger watching her on screen arose in me. I wasn't going to admit to myself that Singles Inferno had scripted elements because seasons 1&2 had me hooked, but it would totally make sense with some of the choices the contestants make. Plus, the constant addition of an extra girl or extra guy is so obviously done to throw off existing romantic bonds for the sake of drama. And that's sad because I think some of the couples that could've formed would absolutely be married and having babies right now if this show was purely for finding love. Also, Gwanhee being an absolute idiot and having everyone fawn over him definitely broke my little hope that this is genuine. I can also finally admit i was wrong about Minji, im so sorry Minji. You were wronged. I think a more rational side of me knew Gwanhee was the real villain in this. But you're absolutely spot on with the observation about how most of the hate was a reaction from people who felt protective over Hyeseon. I mean i still have some grievances over that, ngl. Shes not completely blameless. It was in bad taste to have invited someone else just to blatantly flirt with another girl's date. I dont think we need to flip it around to if she was Hyeseon to understand that. I do understand her reaction, I think I would've totally bawled my eyes out in embarrassment if that happened to me. But I wish she hadn't sat there and made Minkyu listen to her gone girl rants, that poor man they wasted him on this season. The girls would've ate him up last season, OR ON ANY OTHER DATING SHOW. But yeah, it definitely slipped from my memory that Gwanhee was being that sweet to her that very same morning. Crazy whiplash. Idk, i dont think Gwanhee should be seeing anyone until he sees a therapist for at least 6 months. Im still mad Hyeseon chose him, like STAND UP GIRL. Especially because they didn't even end up together afterwards. I wouldve liked it if she and Habin got together, but the way he embarrassed himself was so jarring, im almost convinced he didn't want the backlash from his fans and agency. You know how Korean celebrities aren't looked at with favour if they get into a public relationship, especially in the beginning of their careers. Lastly, the age gap thing. Your theory is correct. No one wants to mother a man they're supposed to somewhat submit to or choose to lead their relationship, marriage, and family. We have enough reddit to caution us against such foolery. But i guess, as someone who's been consuming korean content for a while now, i think its worth mentioning that most korean boy moms are HORRIBLE to their son's wife/girlfriend. Im willing to bet that Korean boy moms are the leading cause of divorce in Korea. I also think traditional women tend to not value their younger partners if im being honest. I watched Exchange s3 and Change Days s2 and in both shows there was a couple where the woman was older and she either constantly nagged at him even when he was perfect, or simply refused to see the good man he was past this perceived immaturity she saw in him because he was younger. There genuinely was no respect there, and i kinda see how this would come about. No matter how much affection and the love women had for their younger boyfriend, the paranoia from the subconscious knowledge that he was biologically supposed to be less mature and refined or not yet on her level always manifested in self-sabotaging behaviours that ultimately made the older woman out to be the immature (and psycho if were talking Exchange s3) ones in the relationship. Obviously this isnt the case for ALL older woman younger man relationships, as was shown on the Singles Inferno3 (i so wish they had worked out , but its true, he had the personality of a cardboard box lol). But these things are most definitely why you dont see this relationship dynamic often, and why women seem to be immediately turned off by the prospect of it. Once again great video, p,ease consider checking out those shows I mentioned. I'd love to hear your commentary and video style about them.
I think you would really like "Is She the Wolf?" - it's only got one season on Netflix, but it was a very interesting and more wholesome dating show. The contestants aren't isolated and get to do their day-to-day things while on it. I don't want to spoil anything, but the last episode is tragic and hilarious at the same time

As a woman I have to say I absolutely hated Gwanhee annoyingly toxic personality. So unattractive.. I think the reason why the 3 girls were so into him was : they are VERY competitive women so when he started to play hard to get it's prolly boosted their competitive nature. It wasn't about him at all, they just wanted to WIN at the end. That's what I think.. If there wouldn't be competition I don't think the girls would be THAT interested in him. ^^

She was confident and playful, but never put other women down - she only uplifted herself and I don't see anything wrong with that. The helicopter incident made me so mad with Gwanhee, and also Min Kyu was the GOAT in this season, being supportive to the girls and being a wingman for Sieun. I can't believe he couldn't find a girl who would treat him right, he was the literal opposite of Gwanhee, which every sane person should immediately run for the guy instead of other toxic or immature guys

I don’t mind a little age gap whichever way around, but I do feel like in society, there’s a lot of sexism there. I’m a 25 year old European woman who tends to be estimated a little younger and men around 23-24 years old who try to hit on me and find out I’m 25 will literally not shut up about it. Like my brother in Christ, if roles were reversed you wouldn’t have even bat an eye at the 1-2 year age gap 😂 The only thing I’m a bit cautious of is when someone tries to date another person who’s very young and there’s quite a bit of an age gap. It might be fine, but it also might be borderline grooming. It’s just something to be mindful of to me.
I don't even consider 1-2 years an age gap. You're practically the same age. My husband is significantly older than I am, we've been together 10 years, so that also makes anything less than a 10 year age gap seem pretty minimal. As far as grooming goes, it just depends on the person's age and life experience.

And two years is barely an age gap at all, to be sure. Thank you for calling them out! Gwan-Hee was such a nuisance, whereas Min-kyu was such a catch. It's moments like these on television why most men think hetero women are more attracted to "bad guys". Nevertheless, it is always easier to judge when you're looking at it from an above perspective. Being isolated on that island must have really messed with their feelings.

The age difference is interesting. Some people think a woman 3 years older than the guy is weird, but a man being 6 years older and her teacher as totally fine. I think gender doesnt matter, but there is a reason why many women love the age gap romance between a female human and a supernatural being. Maturity is atractive, but that isnt really connected to age.

If you didn't watch the season 1 there was also this part where one girl asked the guy if he wanted to share the bed and he actually said yes so that was a bit shock knowing koreans aren't this bold. I didn't finish the 2nd and haven't watch this season and i love this recap. Tho it's nice that Mr. Fumbleston apologized but didn't get why 3 girls chose him and not surprised they didn't last. I agree with your view about the helicopter incident. Mr. Insecure knew he had Minji wrapped around his finger and he played her like a fiddle. She came to the show so confident and he broke her down and reduced her to a crying mess. I don't agree that Minji deserved to be dogpiled on but I do think her actions in the helicopter were disrespectful. This man was on a date with the girl sitting directly next to him I just don't think flirting with or "acting playful" is appropriate. It would be one thing if he initiated it, but the flirting was one sided, so unfortunately I don't feel bad that she was ignored and sad about it.

A 26 yo girl with a guy in his late thirties isn't an age gap worth thinking about really, BUT I do think it's weird that every single girl is in her twenties and every guy in his thirties.... It definitely adds to the "women expire at 30" mindset and was probably on purpose. While guys being in their thirties isn't being treated with that kind of... disgust? Taboo? And it has an interactive game-like element because at the end of each episode, the hosts in the studio guess who they think will receive hearts from who (because basically at the end of every day, all players anonymously send “heart signals” to a person that they like in the house. The receiver has no idea who it is from) It’s so cute and so very heartfelt

Also the men on this show were.......a choice. Gwanhee, having the worst child-man personality a 36 year old has ever had and still had 3 women fighting over him one of them being smarter than 3 gwanhees combined? scripted. wonik being objectively one of the most good looking guys there and being a one woman man but portrayed as a loser just because he had date/flirting anxiety? rough. Mingyu being an ABSOLUTE dream and ending up as a bit of a pushover? insane. habin being a waste of space. Minwoo looking like THAT but having less of a personality than a cardboard cutout? what a shame. Jinseok was the only one who came off well on screen from the guys. Every time I watch a western dating show and one person is like 22 and the other is 25 and they comment on the age gap, or how "young" the 22 year old is, I just die laughing. Like, you're basically the same age. My husband and I have a pretty significant age gap though so a few years is just silly.
Koreans count age differently so you have to substract 2 to get their western age, so the 22 yo is actually 20 and that’s why they’re commenting on how young she is

the reason why i think people were mad at Minji about the helicopter is that the paradise time is supposed to be a time where you focus on your date and getting to know them. idk if anyone said it before but there was a scandal in korea involving gwan-hee and Min-ji one of the girls who were chasing after him (I can't remember which one exactly), they apparently knew him on social media before the show and knew he came from a pretty rich family and that's why they wanted him, they went and deleted their comments and/or likes on his old insta post afterwards to hide that fact but screenshots were already up.

I'm on you with the criticism targeting Minji over GwanHee. He's leading those women, he's older so the responsibility lies more on him. He used grooming tactics on them and people are mad at the women because it actually worked? I was upset at Hajong because she did reprimand him just to go back to him. I also understand why Hyeseon was the favorite of the show. But people went beyond to hate Minji because they rooted for Hyeseon to get who she wants, even when that man was trash. Even in the post after the show, people were criticizing Minji for being close to Gwanhee in some of the pics instead of Hyeseon. I remembered that Hyeseon also had to publicly announced that she was not dating Gwanhee because people were upset that she seemed to have become closer to Wonik post production. And it's like, why the vitriol for the women and none for the man who has a decade, money, and fame over them. That was so irritating.
As a side note: I would like to precise that all the bashing and criticism came from the western viewers of the show. And I only add it to showcase that the west. Is not as progressive as they think they are. This was clearly a display of internalized sexism since most of the audience are women. I can't speak on how the Korean audience reacted to these but from the commentators om the show, you can tell that tgey were disgusted and tired of Gwanhee's shit too.

About the hellicopter: I get your point and I would be caught deed before I ever defend gwanhee but minji was being SUCH a child, she was nudging him to the point where even hyeseon probably felt the push and not to mention mingyu literally seeing all this with his own eyes. whatever matter is between you two, resolve it by yourself don't make a scene and make other ppl feel uncomfortable so yeah she was definitely in the wrong there (and so was gwanhee but gwanhee is always wrong so its not even worth mentioning)
This was a really interesting video, thank you for your summary and commentary and for giving additional context! I never cared for dating shows until a RUclipsr I like to watch started regularly reacting to and making videos on Love is blind. I watched some of those for the RUclipsr but I still don‘t really care for the show itself. Single‘s inferno is the first dating show that I could see myself watching casually. It feels a lot less exploitative and sensationalized than others. Of course, it‘s still problematic to put people in a setting that creates artificial rarity and promotes very competitive behavior but it seems very mild and healthy in comparison to other shows I‘ve seen clips of. I like that all the conflict arose naturally and the producers seemingly gave them the space to resolve it. There were no screaming matches or any violence and it feels like everyone left the show with their dignity intact, even the ones who weren’t picked at the end. Which seems crazy to praise a show (with real people) for but I do feel like it deserves to be pointed out.
Watching Wonik in retrospect is so weird because the guy is actually charming on Tiktok lately. I love his lives with Minkyu. Lol.

I absolutely loved this commentary. I would definitely watch if you would do videos on season 1 and season 2. There's another show Korean dating show i watched called My Sibling’s Romance. Crazy name, but it was super cozy, kinda conservative in a way that makes the romance elements feel so soft and pure. But there were definitely a few side eyes for some of the characters. For sure. The most recent season of Transit Love (other name is Exchange) was also bonkers. I'm losing my mind just thinking of it.
I'd like to write an essay on how much im afraid of Gyuri, and how i wouldnt even fight her even if i saw her in the street because who knows what she would do to me, but i simply dont have the energy to tap back into the anger watching her on screen arose in me.
I wasn't going to admit to myself that Singles Inferno had scripted elements because seasons 1&2 had me hooked, but it would totally make sense with some of the choices the contestants make. Plus, the constant addition of an extra girl or extra guy is so obviously done to throw off existing romantic bonds for the sake of drama. And that's sad because I think some of the couples that could've formed would absolutely be married and having babies right now if this show was purely for finding love. Also, Gwanhee being an absolute idiot and having everyone fawn over him definitely broke my little hope that this is genuine.
I can also finally admit i was wrong about Minji, im so sorry Minji. You were wronged. I think a more rational side of me knew Gwanhee was the real villain in this. But you're absolutely spot on with the observation about how most of the hate was a reaction from people who felt protective over Hyeseon. I mean i still have some grievances over that, ngl. Shes not completely blameless. It was in bad taste to have invited someone else just to blatantly flirt with another girl's date. I dont think we need to flip it around to if she was Hyeseon to understand that. I do understand her reaction, I think I would've totally bawled my eyes out in embarrassment if that happened to me. But I wish she hadn't sat there and made Minkyu listen to her gone girl rants, that poor man they wasted him on this season. The girls would've ate him up last season, OR ON ANY OTHER DATING SHOW.
But yeah, it definitely slipped from my memory that Gwanhee was being that sweet to her that very same morning. Crazy whiplash. Idk, i dont think Gwanhee should be seeing anyone until he sees a therapist for at least 6 months. Im still mad Hyeseon chose him, like STAND UP GIRL. Especially because they didn't even end up together afterwards. I wouldve liked it if she and Habin got together, but the way he embarrassed himself was so jarring, im almost convinced he didn't want the backlash from his fans and agency. You know how Korean celebrities aren't looked at with favour if they get into a public relationship, especially in the beginning of their careers.
Lastly, the age gap thing. Your theory is correct. No one wants to mother a man they're supposed to somewhat submit to or choose to lead their relationship, marriage, and family. We have enough reddit to caution us against such foolery. But i guess, as someone who's been consuming korean content for a while now, i think its worth mentioning that most korean boy moms are HORRIBLE to their son's wife/girlfriend. Im willing to bet that Korean boy moms are the leading cause of divorce in Korea. I also think traditional women tend to not value their younger partners if im being honest. I watched Exchange s3 and Change Days s2 and in both shows there was a couple where the woman was older and she either constantly nagged at him even when he was perfect, or simply refused to see the good man he was past this perceived immaturity she saw in him because he was younger. There genuinely was no respect there, and i kinda see how this would come about. No matter how much affection and the love women had for their younger boyfriend, the paranoia from the subconscious knowledge that he was biologically supposed to be less mature and refined or not yet on her level always manifested in self-sabotaging behaviours that ultimately made the older woman out to be the immature (and psycho if were talking Exchange s3) ones in the relationship.
Obviously this isnt the case for ALL older woman younger man relationships, as was shown on the Singles Inferno3 (i so wish they had worked out , but its true, he had the personality of a cardboard box lol). But these things are most definitely why you dont see this relationship dynamic often, and why women seem to be immediately turned off by the prospect of it.

I think you would really like "Is She the Wolf?" - it's only got one season on Netflix, but it was a very interesting and more wholesome dating show. The contestants aren't isolated and get to do their day-to-day things while on it. I don't want to spoil anything, but the last episode is tragic and hilarious at the same time

I am BEGGING YOU to do MORE REVIEWS on Korean dating shows! There are MANY more great k-dating shows. I absolutely love your narration.. brilliant! As a woman I have to say I absolutely hated Gwanhee annoyingly toxic personality. So unattractive.. I think the reason why the 3 girls were so into him was : they are VERY competitive women so when he started to play hard to get it's prolly boosted their competitive nature. It wasn't about him at all, they just wanted to WIN at the end. That's what I think.. If there wouldn't be competition I don't think the girls would be THAT interested in him. ^^
The thing is: My fav boy Wonik really did not put all of his charm into the show. I checked his youtube and instagram account and he's much more outgoing and passionate, than he portrayed himself

Omg thank you for standing up for Minji, she literally didn't deserve all the hate. She was confident and playful, but never put other women down - she only uplifted herself and I don't see anything wrong with that. The helicopter incident made me so mad with Gwanhee, and also Min Kyu was the GOAT in this season, being supportive to the girls and being a wingman for Sieun. I can't believe he couldn't find a girl who would treat him right, he was the literal opposite of Gwanhee, which every sane person should immediately run for the guy instead of other toxic or immature guys

I don’t mind a little age gap whichever way around, but I do feel like in society, there’s a lot of sexism there. I’m a 25 year old European woman who tends to be estimated a little younger and men around 23-24 years old who try to hit on me and find out I’m 25 will literally not shut up about it. Like my brother in Christ, if roles were reversed you wouldn’t have even bat an eye at the 1-2 year age gap 😂
The only thing I’m a bit cautious of is when someone tries to date another person who’s very young and there’s quite a bit of an age gap. It might be fine, but it also might be borderline grooming. It’s just something to be mindful of to me.
I don't even consider 1-2 years an age gap. You're practically the same age. My husband is significantly older than I am, we've been together 10 years, so that also makes anything less than a 10 year age gap seem pretty minimal. As far as grooming goes, it just depends on the person's age and life experience.

And two years is barely an age gap at all, to be sure. It’s just so funny to me that apparently it’s considered gross in society for a woman to be older than her male partner, while the opposite is considered ‘normal.’ Just goes to show how much the discourse of the centuries before us is still at play to some extent now, despite our reluctance to admit it.

Nevertheless, it is always easier to judge when you're looking at it from an above perspective. Being isolated on that island must have really messed with their feelings.

The age difference is interesting. Some people think a woman 3 years older than the guy is weird, but a man being 6 years older and her teacher as totally fine. I think gender doesnt matter, but there is a reason why many women love the age gap romance between a female human and a supernatural being. Maturity is atractive, but that isnt really connected to age.
As an avid Single's inferno enjoyer this took me back i wont lie. you have to watch the first 2 seasons even tho personally i think s3 was the best one, production wise, there's so many interesting stories in the first 2 seasons.

If you didn't watch the season 1 there was also this part where one girl asked the guy if he wanted to share the bed and he actually said yes so that was a bit shock knowing koreans aren't this bold. I didn't finish the 2nd and haven't watch this season and i love this recap. Tho it's nice that Mr. Fumbleston apologized but didn't get why 3 girls chose him and not surprised they didn't last. He's too way over his head. And i love the one who's the coast guard and didn't pursue as an influencer, seems like a genuine guy. Such a gentleman too, opposite of fumbleston mcgee 😂
