I have a neighbor with a red one, also with a turbo. That car scares the shit out me, i just see this little ass car with at least 350 wheel, flying pass my house. I lowkey wanna drive it but i’m to scared to ask him 😂, feel like I’m going to die in that thing. When he punches it from 2nd to 3rd you can hear the tires screaming, maybe he should add a wing like yours for that extra downforce. He has a diffuser but no wing.
If I had the money to build a car for track days this would be the way to go, the power to weight ratio is insane
Such a fun looking car.
As you probably know by now, the car rev limits at 8500 rpm, if you watch the speedometer you'll find 1st gear that's at about 40mph, 2nd at about 60mph, 3rd at about 80mph.
But why those are good to know is you'll see that the speedometer only reads every 20 mph, so 40, 60, 80 are VERY easy to see AND tell you the rev limit speed-per-gear I mentioned above.
For example, if you're doing (say) 50mph, cruising, and suddenly want to accelerate, you know you want to drop down a few gears. Knowing you're below 60mph means you know you can drop into 2nd gear and instantly be in the high-power band revs (although you'll need to change into 3rd in less than a second later)!
Similarly if you're cruising at say 65mph, as it's below 80mph so you can drop into 3rd to do the same sudden acceleration, if you want/need to.
Even if you're cruising in 6th, you can change straight into the gear (based on your speed) to give you instant maximum power... but get good on smooth gear changes, and give a quick rev to the engine as you down shift helps that smooth gear change.
Nice! Also in the rev counter 1k-3k are close together. Giving you more space between the revs you use more from 4k-10k. Limited to 8.5k of course.
It hits 8k rpm so quick I wish mine had a little red on the tach on the dash, although the shift light helps some. It's wild to drive

hey Mitch. i got a question for ya. with the success of the new supra, do you think Toyota is going to come out with a new mr2? and would you sell your lotus to fund purchasing one if it turns out to be impressive? love the lotus by the way! amazing sound.
I drove the Supra, its a great car but its like comparing apples to oranges...its not the same. I will keep my Lotus and look one day to also owning a Supra. ;)
