Oh man, I loved the game. The DLC's were really nice stories of their own with really well thought out and crafted gameplay. I loved them together even more then the main game.
Glad someone commented this, I feel the DLCs were better overall than the main game xD
The base game was too overambitious. The more linear nature of the DLCs worked way better to encapsulate and complement the world and Gameplay

@@thegamingprozone1941 It always depends on which type of player you are. The man campaigns have some little low in the pacing curve. But overall the atmosphere, the creativity and the story is really good. Especially the added game mechanics of campaign 2 and 3 make it much more exciting.
The DLC's tho are great. Perfect length, perfect pacing and even better story.
If you are more a story lover than a gameplay enthusiast (The gameplay is good, but not AAA polished), then this should be a good experience.
Honestly I love the entire concept of we happy few, literally everything story wise I love, I just wish it was more polished and stuff
I do hope one day they either make a sequel or make a spin off Or basically just anything really
I've always been a big fan of this game and its universe ! Even with all its flaws, it felt unique enough to be enjoyable in my opinion.

We Happy Few isn't underrated at all. In fact it was *so well rated* that it got console releases as a PC indie game.
There's a fine line of difference between underrated and forgotten. Forgotten is what we ought to describe this game as.

This would’ve made such an amazing TV show.
Only one or two seasons anymore then it would have been watered down but I agree. This would be a great small tv show that would go down in history if it stopped before it got bad.

Personally I feel like 3 seasons is the max they could do *IF* they’re super skilled and have great writers on their side, if not then probably 1 or 2 tbh

I'm happy that you have returned to play the dlc that, I can say that the dlc CARRIES the entire game, and that I had a hard time admitting until a few months ago.
I honestly loved all three of them even though they are side character stories we see in the base game.
My top 3 are:
1. Lightbearer
2. We All Fall Down
3. Roger & James: They Came From Below
Thanks Kev for reminding me that I had to replay the entire game to get all the achievements. Even with its bugs and its type of gameplay, I love this game

This game has been sitting in my library unplayed for a while now but you've convinced me to give it a go
This is a game that I absolutely LOVED when it came out. When I bought it I played it for 2 days straight and then beat it on the 4th day. I really should play through it again and get the DLC's.

I think Arthur and Sally’s storylines were my favorite. I like the more sciencey aspect of Sally’s story.

@@carsoknight deathloop is unique, it takes aspects from dishonored and improves upon them while introducing some newer mechanics like the day periods that change everything dependent on what time of day it is, whilst also having unique ways of unlocking specific items, I can’t speak on the witcher as I’ve not played it, bit we happy few is unique in it’s constantly evolving world and the joy system, just because some elements aren’t unique doesn’t mean the game isn’t unique as a whole

Not taking "Joy" seems to evoke similar reactions (although much more severe) compared to other chemical users. Like 420 for example. People want you to smoke it with them and get mildly offended if you refuse. In a more severe case, if a parent asks you "How many children do you have?" and you say anything other than a positive integer, they castigate you immediately as if you spat in their cereal.

Yeah this game was pretty terrible at launch and for a good portion of its life. It does seem like they've massively improved the game, it's gone underappreciated like you said but if the release of a game is bad chances are people will always think it.

@@ItzSkettimas It does work. It's chances are someone that already thinks it's bad will always think it's bad regardless. If someone experiences a negative launch in most cases they'll just move on and forget about the game, this game is a perfect example of it. They are also a smaller company unlike the others that own the games you listed, cyberpunk had cdpr doing everything they could to keep good PR. No man's sky is definitely the outlier though, you can't compare that game's success to other games so easily.

I know it’s probably a long way away from release, but you should try the upcoming game from the same developers as We Happy Few: South Of Midnight, whenever it comes out. It honestly looks really good from the teaser trailer, as it looks like it’s gonna have this cool stop motion like style, and the gameplay sounds like it might be something like Dark Souls, which I know is right up your street.
