When I was about 6 years old, I told my grandma that I loved staying at her home...but not the scary man who glowered at me at the entrance of the small bedroom across from the bathroom upstairs. My grandma got very quiet, but her voice was shaky when she asked me if he spoke to me. I told her he just looked angry and he stood at top of steps sometimes, just watching. She set up a card table in her livingroom and sat down with me, with a big basket filled with old photographs.She told me we could write the names on the back to organize them. We were having fun, she was telling funny stories and I saw faces of my grandma's 12 siblings, photos of babies, etc.Some of the photos laid face down in the basket, so I would flip them over, then show it to grandma and she was laughing and smiling then tell me her childhood stories. I found a photo of the "angry man" and I pulled back, throwing the photo on the table. Grandma's face went sheet white and she whispered,"This is who you see?" I nodded. I sensed grandma was afraid too. My grandma was 4 ft 9 inches, but she was fearless, faced hardships and stood proud. She explained that this person was NOT allowed in HER house and ESPECIALLY not allowed to scare her granddaughter! She was very angry and went and got her Bible. She stomped up the stairs, went into that room and slammed the door! I could hear her loudly reading the Bible aloud, saying prayers aloud and shouting out LEAVE NOW! It was my mother who told me the stern, angry man photo was of my grandma's very mean, abusive father, who died many years before I was born. I never felt or saw him again.
Mary O'Hare I believe your story because certain things have been happening to me again and again since my husband past away almost five years ago in our home. He said he was going to haunt me in his death. I would tell you more if interested?
Your grandmother was a very wise and grounded woman in Christ, and God bless you both. The Bible calls these spirits by the name familiar spirits who impersonate dead relatives or manifest as things we fear, and she took authority in the name of Jesus and threw that thing out. What a legacy of family, love & faith she left you.
Wow that’s some story, good your Grandma got rid of him!
Hello, I have read many books and the bible and I’m a Believer. The ghost is actually a demon. A demon can take full figure of a deceased person. To cast them out takes work and every room
in a home must be spoken in casting them out in the name of Jesus sternly! I will go further - I have a shofar I have used that represents Gods voice. Spirits are real and not to be taken lightly! ALSO, be careful with antiques, other people’s jewelry etc. spirits can be attached to them. I knew a young girl given a bracelet years ago and she started to act very strange no one coukd understand why until an elderly woman from my church who was
a missionary for 30 years recognized the bracelet the young girl
was wearing and told her to take it off and get rid of it immediately! That bracelet was made in a foreign country. I think it was India. I’m not sure at the moment, but the point is the country worshiped demonic spirits. Their real folks and not to be laughed
about!

Your pantry is so incredibly beautiful!!! That wallpaper is perfect and the kitchen is really starting to look incredible as well. That early morning dawn light coming through the windows made the room feel truly magical. I absolutely can’t wait until it is finished and we get to see a fire warming up the dining area, creating that atmosphere of warmth and beauty. You’ve designed an impeccable space! Congratulations!

Next time you make this recipe, try leaving out the bread crumbs, and substitute with parmesan cheese instead. Then, you will have a perfectly no carb dish! ☺️♥️

I learned in my late 30s, if you see something you love (fabric, wallpaper, linens, furniture, etc) don't hesitate (if you have storage space) to get it for future use. It will fit into your decorating scheme someday. 20 yrs ago there was a salvage co I frequented that bought wallpaper overruns. I knew they wouldn't be selling it forever. I'm still using some grasscloth I bought back then. I had the same experience with a decorator fabric store. The poor guy in a rural farm community was addicted to shopping and buying by the truckload. So many bargains were available there was no reason not to redo things on a whim. Thank goodness I got that out of my system while I was young.

Oh what a lovely video to watch as I had my lunch today. Here in Alabama the forsythia and the tulip poplars are blooming. It is a pretty sunny day...spring on on the way. I love that pantry...the colors, the organization and the convenience of it makes my heart sing. Enjoy it!!

The pantry is gorgeous. Love the wallpaper with the cabinet colors. I make the zucchini with Stovetop cooked cornbread stuffing mixed with cooked italian sausage. Then I top it with a mixture of panko and parmesan mixed with a little evoo.... yummmmm

Omgee I do the same, especially if the flowers are from the garden, I take them wherever I am in the house. Its a standing joke in my family ... Follow the flowers you'll find mom!

Beautiful! Love your pantry and your kitchen. You have such a wonderful talent for making things elegant yet homey at the same time. Thoroughly looking forward to your 'ghost' video. I always wondered if you encountered any of the former 'occupant's of your old homes. I've lived in old homes for years and have yet to have one that didn't come with previous 'tenants'. Our current home is from 1893 and it became so active for a long while after we moved in, not in a nice way, that I finally had to have a stern talk with 'them' and told them to either be nice and helpful or I'd have to make them leave. The house has been quiet since.

I was anxiously awaiting your latest video. When it appeared I was gobsmacked by the transformation from your last video. You must have worked round the clock to accomplish as much as you did. It looks stunning! It is my taste precisely in everything. I am all thumbs though and cannot do any of those things. Once I was putting sample swatches of paint on 4 different spots on my bedroom walls. When I finished, myself and everything else in the room were spotted with paint! You have turned the corner to the home stretch. Lovely, lovely, lovely! By the way, I totally understand the coffee in the "pretty" cups!

Everything looks beautiful, love the pantry❤. I have a toile, very similar if not the same, on my couch and cornices in the living room. I have had it for 25 years. I wanted to freshen it up with new fabric but I was told it was discontinued 😢. Anyway it all looks so comfortable and cozy. Can’t wait for the ghost video as I have also experienced some crazy things but unfortunately they weren’t recorded so I don’t have the evidence! 🥰

Oh Linda I love, love, love your Butler pantry. The cupboards and paper look amazing together. I also love your kitchen... what a difference since the last video. When you chose to go with the clear glass cupboards by your sink... I didn’t think it would look good but you were right, with the trim they look great! My husband and I built our home 15 years ago and I’m ready for some wallpaper. We lived in a big old house before and had to wallpaper everything because of the walls. Oh I’m feeling so inspired to do some decorating! Can’t wait to see it when you are completely done. God bless!

The Pantry is beautiful. I do like the light in the pantry, it is contemporary however, the metal goes well with the rest of the color in the room. I also agree with no pendants in the kitchen. That is such a lovely open space; everything looks great.

I really missed you Linda, but I support your taking time for a "reset". Your vlogs have brought back so many warm memories, tastes and traditions of my beloved East Coast and New England!
