The combat helicopter Mil Mi-24P (P for cannon) was launched in April 1981 and remained in serial production until 1989. Different from the early versions with a machine gun, it has high firepower due to a dual-barreled 30mm cannon GS-2-30K mounted on the right side of the fuselage. Aiming is done by turning the whole helicopter, consequently the pilot (commander) is firing the cannon. In addition this helicopter can carry up to 2400 kg of arms load: bombs, unguided rockets and antitank missiles. The Mi-24P took actively part in the Afghan war, in combat operations in Chechnya, and during the Russian Air Force operation in Syria. It is still
in service in Russia and many other countries worldwide.

What a great helicopter, what a great model what a great magnet for P E . What a great challenge in our world of kits.

You’re hind is looking great, am inspired to get mine out of the stash, keep up the good work.
Big thanks Steven. as someone pointed out zvezda just scaled up the 72 scale kit but I certainly like the looks of this helicopter. Next step detailing .
Well as I said before I wanted to build one in 1/35 but after this vid I NEED to build it! Thx for inspiration Mark!!! And waiting for next episodes with this one! :)
A great detailed work on the helicopter, Mark. Many PE-parts.
The result speaks for himself. Greetings, Joachim
Hi Joachim thanks how are you ! Im checking you now !!
I'm fine, hope you're doing well too.
Wish you a good time on your workbench. Greetings, Joachim
magnifique
Удачи!
Hello Bear
You showed you purchaseed aftermarket parts for the 30mm gun barrels but you glued in the kit part instead. What happened to change your mind about adding those items?
yeah well spotted ! The problem is getting them to fit to the kit part. Its not as simple as just removing the plastic barrel. In fact it would require a lot of scratch building to rebuild the supports and fuselage brace. Instead of the 2 minute job to bore out the supplied plastic barrel.
what liquid do you using for remove the glue ? it's acetone ? Good job, it's beautifull !
yes exactly acetone is all you need to clean up pr debond superglue. Just be careful on plastic as too much will destroy styrene !
hello it is nice and inspirationable build, but I have one question: what paints you used on camo, I can not find that second colour. thank you .
That’s a lot of PE. Have you tried a kicker like Insta-set with the CA glue? Did you find the ceramic scraper better than a metal one?
the ceramic scraper is excellent. using some activator for CA would have been useful!
What is the brand of your side cutters. You cuting off the plastic before gluing photo etched panels.

i know this may seem strange but what are the dimensions of this when built, if you can remember, cannot find info anywhere. need to know before i get the model, ordered, so i can start diorama base etc. thanks for your time. Tom
Can you tell me what pressure you use on the compressor?
Beautiful paint job Bear...I may have missed it but what was the sand colour you used on the upper camo? Thanks. Rob
Hi Rob its a Tamiya grey green colour
Great job! Can you tell me who makes the mask for the amoeba paint scheme?
why dont you join the Patreon? I am posting all sorts of info on the build. The masks are only available in Russia but I have the template available to copy via the Patroen site. big thanks !!
