Prismatic Hunter is the best melee hunter we will ever get. And the builds come right out of the box fully ready to use. And the fragments in all honesty feel like extra options for you to mack an already solid build even better
I'm just sad that combination blow/dodge seems to be the only real viable prismatic hunter build. Shame, cus I just don't like that gameplay loop. Boring and repetitive, and being in constant melee range just doesn't work for most endgame stuff.

I've also had la lot of fun using a very similar setup to this one but using the new balance of power exotic. The extra health on the clones actually do help a lot, making the clones stick around quite a while longer, and the number of threadling is absolutely insane.
Hey the class item... Can roll spirit of renewal and spirit of cirtarachne... The cool thing about this is spirit of cirtarachne only needs you to use a grenade. It doesnt have to be the grapple... So you get frost armor and woven mail from using duskfield grenade. Bonkers.

As much as I love the combination blow builds the loop is so very linear it gets old quite fast. This is a interesting take on an old reliable but it’s still at its core the dodge punch we all know and love. Always good to have one in the backpack but I’m far more excited for the more interesting stuff that will come with exotic class items.

I made a very similar build but instead of using contraverse hold with strand super, I ran a stasis super with bombadiers. The slow from ur dodge on top of bombadiers is an instant freeze and the decoy bursts for extra damage while also taking aggro.
hi, i tested your build, it is a lot of fun :) another viable option is the (craftable) rocket sidearm "the call" since it is strand and and : - column one has strategist for even more class ability uptime if you screw something, or slice that let you spam sever since you're constantly dodging. - column two has hatchling for more strand synergy or golden tricorn/desperate mesure that synergize with melee/grenade kills. Although i havent tested if killing ennemies from shattering the stasis crytal spawned by your renewal-duskfield grenade count as grenade kill. Machine gun as heavy makes sense for some long range, add clear but i'm not sure what to run as energy/exotic weapon. tessalation let you go full strand, tho it is not needed since we're not running surges anyway, and you kinda want to save your grenade to start your chain. Maybe there is some good synergy with one of ergosum combo (which would complement the cqc style of this build) ? overall a solid 9/10 build ;)

Only negative is no ranged melee for transendance but you can work around that. I still think stylish > threaded though personally, but will try out both versions. I prob wont use the strand super much but restoration/more frost armor/amplified/void OS are still good options for healing/dr.
Definitely and it will only get better when the exotic class items come out. You can get this build exactly plus another exotic benefit.....spirit of synoceps if you want more damage for melee, spirit if star eaters for even more super damage, worhusk fir more survival/ healing, Cytarachnes to get wolven mail on gre ade use.. ..can't wait to test out the possibilities, and probably some others I can't think of right off my head.

My biggest issue is that the grenade doesn't recharge as fast as you might think it would. Against boss type enemies with no ads around I can see this presenting to be an issue
One thing i really love about prismatic hunter is that the clone doesnt have a cooldown, its every normal dodge. I uses to use radiant dance machines on strand hunter because theyre green and you could spam threaded spikes, but you only ever got the clone on the FIRST dodge, none of the next ones
Man has anyone tried Collective Obligation? I know prismatic is the hot ticket right now, but holy shit, CO and Contraverse shreds EVERYTHING at EVERY content level

I have so many different melee builds. I will definitely be trying this one. I usually just run the classic liars handshake with stylish executioner and winter's shroud, but yesterday I made an experimental build and swapped out stylish executioner for threaded spectre, and it was actually pretty insane. While I do get bored with the melee build at times, I do enjoy how diverse it can be with over 20+ different ways to build a solid melee build. Great video, plunder, definitely gonna try this one out. Once I unlock the mission for exotic class item things will bea lot more fun. I'll be starting the campaign over on legendary today after work. Beat it on normal just to have an easier time leveling up and grabbing all the fragments. Now I'm playing to farm what I desperately need; exotic class item. I really want to get caliban's with liar's for the exotic class item. That'd be an absolutely nasty build for add clear and boss clear if you get the buffs/debuffs going. Also, liars with balance of power would also be my 2nd most anticipated combo to mess around with. Awesome video and build, can't wait to see more content. Btw, Plunder, my Strand build that I used all of last season was inspired by one of your og Strand build utilizing the shackle grenade while using threaded spectre and whirling maelstrom. Once the Exotic Class Item is out I plan to get Renewals & Crytarachne on it so I have Renewals and throwing the Grenade gives me Woven Mail and then swap the Strand Super for Stasis and replace the one Fragment with Control which (currently) has no cooldown so you can infinitely reload all your weapons pretty much 24/7 which is also busted for dealing with bosses you can't just go punch.
Iv been running renewals with prismatic this entire time...frost armor is cracked man...and that extra DR in the duskfield...can't wait till I unlock the rest of the stuff
Can confirm, this build is incredibly fun. Like most combination blow-based builds, you occasionally get screwed in matchmade activities because SOME people just HAVE to murder every add on the screen... including the ones you're about to punch to get your dodge back. But super-fun nonetheless.
I replaced facet of bravery for facet of awakening. Seems to fit better and gives +10 resilence to help get those 3x100 Also powerful atraction instead of reaper on your class item is a huge QoL for me and i highly recommend it.

Though you'd want to know, the written version of the guide has a small typo that doesn't bother me, but you being the professional you seem to be, probably wanna change it. In the section that tells the gameplay loop, it says to 'ass' a duskfield every 15 secs.
@sonny4235 most likely res and discipline. As melee and class ability is immediately refunded, and you get insta healing from your melee and orbs of power. Res first as an extra 30% reduction is a no brainer and discipline since you still have to work to get your grenade back.

So I posted this as a build on a Reddit page when we first saw the stuff we got for the prismatic subclass abilities we could use and this has been my build this entire time so far
The problem that I find with this build style is that in group play content your teammates aren't typically going to just let you run around and get your stacks of combination blow. They will be shooting stuff and killing things as well. Sure it looks great when playing solo but the efficacy of the melee hunter falls short when playing with a fireteam in my opinion. Would love to hear other's perspective on this subject though.
I took off invis for the same reason I don't use Stylish with void. It's inconvenient. If I want to make use of invis, I will use the dodge/smoke. Stylish is better for PVP. Getting the extra fragment from Spectre is great and it's overall effect is similar to that of invis so it's what i swapped to during the campaign. Wasn't 100% sure how to build for it tho so I'm glad to have found this video
This is why I love your build man. Everyone else going for the low hanging fruit with liars handshake, and you come at us with a way to perpetually drop threaded spectres on the field. Now I'm kicking myself for not picking up that exotic from the end of the campaign 😂
😮 I just put the mods on each of my gear and I made double 100s with 69 mobility thanks it brought my survivability up 😊 it actually brought more of my stats up

Dope. I use this with a crafted The Call (Beacon Rounds & Desperate Measures), a crafted Adhorative (Heal Clip & Incandescent), and Salvation's Grip exotic grenade launcher.
how is that the call with beacon rounds and desperate measure roll? im using the same rolls as his shotty for my The call with subsistence / golden tricorn roll maybe your roll will be better
Another fun combo is the new hunter legs that buff the amount of threadings. It is probably not as good for higher tier gameplay but man is it fun to spam 10 threaded specters and then see 50 threading attack something.
This build will be good with the new Raid Exotic. It's a Strand 3-round burst Linear Fusion Rifle in the Kinetic slot. That spawns Threadlings when you do dmg and enemies hit by Threadlings take more dmg from the gun.
I'll have to give this a shot, been running Liar's. The only downside I can see (at least for me), is I've been running with a friend who mains a Titan and he's usually running Pyrogale or Loreley or Doomfang with the new exotic sword and he just absolutely kills everything a little too fast for a melee hunter to keep up. Or maybe I'm just not keeping up.
I have an exotic cloak with improved dusk field grenades along with a perk that improves grenades with stacking ability if using a matching elemental weapon to said grenade. This may be the exotic option for this build for me

I've already swapped off Stylish for my combination blow build! The clones are way easier to work with for chunking down enemies (they are distracted from you!) and getting revives
Sick i was already experimenting with the threaded specter arc hunter build cuz the thought of leaving 50 specters as i chain dodge meele was funny to me now i can be useful to my team
There’s a strand dodge prismatic that clones you when you dodge mixing it that with liars exotic is so OP since the strand clone would explode in close proximity of enemies. And they stack up to multiples strands

I’m using spirit of the assassin with spirit of the liar. That way I’m still able to go invis and use threaded specter/winter shroud instead of stylish executioner. You still have insane survivability.

Renewal Grasps are amazing, even when they caught a big nerf ages back. I've barely touched anything since Renewal Revenant! Got my Liars Handshake out the vault after seeing all the builds being shouted about. Now I see a Renewal Prismatic Build!? Yup! I'll take it haha.

I like it and I get the idea, but one point we didnt consider is dps. The strand super is one of, if not the worst super for damage phases in the game. I get the appeal of woven mail and the clones but Im still taking liar's handshake with a golden gun and restoration.
No one's talked about Ager's Scepter + Incandescent Hand Canon with Hunter Stylish Executioner + Combo Blow, Tether or Silence, with Grappling Grenade. Not even sure if I need Liars or I could run Morpheus Rigs. I'm murking everything.
It's so crazy I ran the liars handshake build through the whole campaign, then final mission had to take a look at what I was doing cuZ I could not stay alive. That's when I settled on a very primitive form of this 😂
So I trying this build with few fragment tweaks from the comments, and when I was testing I had a Ded Gramarye IV drop with discord/GT and omg this paired with my Supercluster with reconstruction/vorpal is so nice since I get ammo back and free shots with DED. Also to note I am also using the class exotic with Renewel/ SofC and its nice but not sure how I feel about smaller dome and no crystal forming.
Been using a Liar's build for most of the Legendary campaign and it's not the best for me right now. Will definitely try this! EDIT: Damn, I don't have threaded specter yet :(

Great build! If you have weapons with Slice, you can get even more damage from Severing enemies since you're dodging so much!

Getting the extra fragment from Spectre is great and it's overall effect is similar to that of invis so it's what i swapped to during the campaign. Wasn't 100% sure how to build for it tho so I'm glad to have found this video
Stylish is insanely mid in PvP. It’s a pve aspect and always has been.
This is why I love your build man. Everyone else going for the low hanging fruit with liars handshake, and you come at us with a way to perpetually drop threaded spectres on the field. Now I'm kicking myself for not picking up that exotic from the end of the campaign 😂
😮 I just put the mods on each of my gear and I made double 100s with 69 mobility thanks it brought my survivability up 😊 it actually brought more of my stats up

Dope. I use this with a crafted The Call (Beacon Rounds & Desperate Measures), a crafted Adhorative (Heal Clip & Incandescent), and Salvation's Grip exotic grenade launcher.
how is that the call with beacon rounds and desperate measure roll? im using the same rolls as his shotty for my The call with subsistence / golden tricorn roll maybe your roll will be better

Another fun combo is the new hunter legs that buff the amount of threadings. It is probably not as good for higher tier gameplay but man is it fun to spam 10 threaded specters and then see 50 threading attack something.

This build will be good with the new Raid Exotic. It's a Strand 3-round burst Linear Fusion Rifle in the Kinetic slot. That spawns Threadlings when you do dmg and enemies hit by Threadlings take more dmg from the gun.
I'll have to give this a shot, been running Liar's. The only downside I can see (at least for me), is I've been running with a friend who mains a Titan and he's usually running Pyrogale or Loreley or Doomfang with the new exotic sword and he just absolutely kills everything a little too fast for a melee hunter to keep up. Or maybe I'm just not keeping up.

I have an exotic cloak with improved dusk field grenades along with a perk that improves grenades with stacking ability if using a matching elemental weapon to said grenade. This may be the exotic option for this build for me

Today i got a Hunter Class Item with Renewal Grasps and Synthozeps as a combo from the Dual Destiny Exotic Mission. Bro, This cloak with this Build is destroying everything :D Thx for the Build @Plunderthabooty :)

I've already swapped off Stylish for my combination blow build! The clones are way easier to work with for chunking down enemies (they are distracted from you!) and getting revives

Sick i was already experimenting with the threaded specter arc hunter build cuz the thought of leaving 50 specters as i chain dodge meele was funny to me now i can be useful to my team
There’s a strand dodge prismatic that clones you when you dodge mixing it that with liars exotic is so OP since the strand clone would explode in close proximity of enemies.
And they stack up to multiples strands
This is a great build especially with the new exotic pants this season also if you get galvanized armor with this build you never dying

if you dont have facet of bravery, facet of blessing further helps with keeping allies alive with its healing on melee kills
This build also works well with the new pants. I really need a non punching hunter prismatic build
I’m using spirit of the assassin with spirit of the liar. That way I’m still able to go invis and use threaded specter/winter shroud instead of stylish executioner. You still have insane survivability.

Renewal Grasps are amazing, even when they caught a big nerf ages back. I've barely touched anything since Renewal Revenant! Got my Liars Handshake out the vault after seeing all the builds being shouted about. Now I see a Renewal Prismatic Build!? Yup! I'll take it haha.

I like it and I get the idea, but one point we didnt consider is dps. The strand super is one of, if not the worst super for damage phases in the game. I get the appeal of woven mail and the clones but Im still taking liar's handshake with a golden gun and restoration.
Even if you take goldy and resto still drop liars lol your super and the buff from the orb is up to you 😁
No one's talked about Ager's Scepter + Incandescent Hand Canon with Hunter Stylish Executioner + Combo Blow, Tether or Silence, with Grappling Grenade. Not even sure if I need Liars or I could run Morpheus Rigs. I'm murking everything.
It's so crazy I ran the liars handshake build through the whole campaign, then final mission had to take a look at what I was doing cuZ I could not stay alive. That's when I settled on a very primitive form of this 😂
So I trying this build with few fragment tweaks from the comments, and when I was testing I had a Ded Gramarye IV drop with discord/GT and omg this paired with my Supercluster with reconstruction/vorpal is so nice since I get ammo back and free shots with DED. Also to note I am also using the class exotic with Renewel/ SofC and its nice but not sure how I feel about smaller dome and no crystal forming.
Finally something original 😂 everyone is making handshake builds and finally something different

Been using a Liar's build for most of the Legendary campaign and it's not the best for me right now. Will definitely try this! EDIT: Damn, I don't have threaded specter yet :(
