for those that don’t know, if you run ascension on hunter and use it while holding a sword, it’ll proc the effects of the sword (probably unintentional but been a thing for way to long at this point) with a relentless strikes perk you can literally just get free ammo, lament heals you, and ofc it procs ergo sum perks which can lead to crazy interactions
I've been trying to figure this out myself. I have noticed that when using a Hive Sword, if you try to activate Ascension, you'll do the sword slam instead. This makes me believe that Ascension is somehow(maybe intentional) coded as a "sword heavy attack" or maybe just a "sword attack". It's really good with Gathering Light on Ergo.
@@Cordam.100% better in my opinion. Having the ability to wave a bunch of ads then instantly swipe to close the distance into them with eager edge-esque speed is such a great feature for slaying. You cant do that with caster. But for majors or champs caster does help with damage but not by a lot imo. Not enough to warrent a switch from my wave
@@iltommyli2266 I completely agree the heavy attack then light combo is similar to a chain reaction forbearance hit followed by a heavy sword light attack lol its cool I did luminality gm today with the wave frame with the amount of ads in that gm felt the better frame to use in comparison to caster and as you said the damage difference is not by a lot for me to switch from wave too
I disagree. I have a hunter build with ergo sum that’s very aggressive and you can get up to 80-85% DR.. jolt / freeze everything around you and does massive DPS without worrying about ammo as well as getting transcendence very quickly
Aegis already basically put out all the information needed to make an educated decision on what frame and other perks do the most damage. Unfortunately wave frames are bugged in a team setting but are the best in solo scenarios. Perfect fifth and arc conductor are top tier. Unplanned reprieve is an honorable mention.
@@eyeONE_Official I don't know whether it's relevant to this but I was running a dual destiny with a friend an hour or so ago and as soon as we completed the boss encounter (I was using riskrunner/wave frame ergo) it completely removed our light and dark buffs, stopping us from getting the CI. (this has never happened to us before so idk whether it was an ergo bug or if it just happens)

More specifically, it's like the game just can't keep up with the amount of waves that hit a single enemy and doesn't calculate a good amount of damage. If you're the only one using it or not doing dps, you have nothing to worry about. Instead, if you're doing dps against Arald or Crota with 6 Wave Swords, then everyone except one player should switch to something else.
Ascension + Gifted Conviction + Amplified ( with artifact mod ) + constant frost armor/woven mail/overshield based on your super on prismatic is very very much GM capable with several rolls on this weapon.

telesto perk on a caster frame is actually so much fun. I got a role this morning and its kind of ridiculous how much damage you can get with a radiant buff and one debuff
No way, arc conductor waveframe all the way. The free lunging light attack after you use a heavy attack lets you close the gap and get a free hit to then let your arc conductor clean up the leftovers. it's my favorite for add clear by far.
FYI Wolfpack Rounds work for your own heavy sword too, not just your teammates. Plus they proc Whirlwind an extra time on each swing and build that up really fast which fixes the ramping problem with that perk.
my personal number 1 build is Arc Conductor on lightweight frame. perfect 5th works really well with vortex frame and telesto on aggresive frame can pack alot of single target dps, when you swing the heavy all the bolts go forward so will all hit the same target

I love the melee build but for void/solar I'd rather just stick with the originals for restoration/cure and devour/invis Warlock though I love prismatic Tbh if void super meant devour on orb pickup it would be fine instead of a 4/5 second overshield oe whatever it was
Got the 5th with caster. Very good. Like the spider one, void vortex. Good in low level or higher w/Titan Stronghold. Both arc are good. Missing any wave frames.
Yesterday I got it with wave frame and Wolfpack rounds it’s a nice combo since the second hit is free it make the rocket on the second hit of the wave frame and then I switch to my vorpal bait and switch fallen guiottine
I normally don’t shame player’s build, but you’re actually playing the hunter wrong with ergo sum. I have 2 ergo sum builds (prismatic and arc subclasses), while invis is great for survivability I’m popping out of invis too quickly for that to matter. Try arc conductor and ascension. Amp on-demand will have you speeding across the battlefield zapping all the mobs.

Run GPG as your aspect and you are cooking. If you aren't using gifted conviction and ascension you are doing it all wrong. I see it all the time, hunters running sylish executioner and relying on invis. No need to be invis when you are slaying out and have massive DR. Now dont get me wrong, i have some invis hunter builds but they are what i said above and also on Void omnioculus. When hunters graduate from invis and start using the other aspects you truely unlock the power of hunters. Aggressive vs passive

Peraonally ive been using my void caster on non raid activities as it can tamage the boss akd if i cant do close rabge it is useful for proc my bait and switch on my edge transit. I also want to know what edge is better to use as i have jagged and for the longest have been told that is the way to go with swords in general
I like caster to proc wolf pack rounds earlier. Jagged edge is better for heavy swords since they get so much more ammo. For ergo sum the ammo to damage ratio is so much better on enduring blade

Crutchcing invis is one of the things that really limits a hunter. When you learn to play hunter without having to rely on invis you then realize how much more you get out of hunter. Stylish executioner is definitely not the play when it comes to using ergo sum. As mentioned before your setup for ergo sum on hunter is all wrong and thats why you think ergo sum is the worst on Hunter. With the right setup your mind will change really quick. I've played with all the ergo sums on all 3 classes and imo Hunter is Top with warlock right behind it and warlock is only 2nd because of devour, if warlock didn't have devour it would be tied to last with Titan. Titan is ok but your better off just sticking with a consecration setup. And if people say "but you can use strongholds on titan" well the point of ergo sum isn't to use it as a blocking sword. With basically unlimited ammo your supposed to be running around slaying with ergo sum and hunter does it best with warlock right behind it

Ergo sum, giftend conviction, and ascension is a aggro build where you are constantly using ascension, spamming transcendent nades, procing arc conductor and going ham with the sword not like something like a Liars build where you want to go invis after every kill because you are dodging with winters shroud and killing something

My Ergo Arc Conductor wave frame carried me through two dozen GMs. I've got about 10,000 kills in the last two weeks.
