      Am I crazy? I cannot create a new account or make a purchase on the manscaped site. I get unknown errors trying to create an account and 500 errors trying to make a purchase outright. I've tried multiple browsers/icognito mode etc. I mean, I know you're not tech support, I'm just wondering if I'm the only one with the issue here.

    I've ridden a z900 and street triple, I own a 2019 mt-09. The other bikes are great fun and may have more impressive spec sheets, but for me nothing beat the character of the fz-09 and its engine. It is absolutely a goon bike, but I daily ride mine and it is 100% manageable.

    • @Alexebb2
      @Alexebb2 3 года назад +7

      Before I bought my 2018 mt-09 , I tried the Z-900 (2018) and I had the impression that the plastic are even cheaper than on the mt-09. I really don't agree with that part of the video. But handling is not really great in highspeed turns, the rear shock needs to be changed.

      nice to read it, i've been riding dirt bikes for year and im looking at getting a 2015 fz09 as a first bike. i don't want to go with a fz07 because it only has 14hp more than my current dirt bike and weights 200lbs more. kinda looking at something more powerful than what i've been riding for years already.

    Yam, I'm so proud of you for how your career has succeeded. Ad-pocalypse was the death for a lot of my favorite motovloggers, Snowcat, DIWD, and others. Around the same time you had a horrific crash and have bounced back better than anyone can dream of. I love every video you publish even as an experienced rider watching something designed for the new guys.
    Keep up the great work. Maybe reach out to C2W and maybe collaborate sometime on some first rides and even track days, I've never seen that guy on a track. To comment on the actual video, I feel like the KTM and the Triumph is comparable to a car enthusiast buying anything German. They are designed to be as good as a vehicle can be.... briefly. IMO the MT-09 is sway more attractive that the 2021 model. If I were to buy an MT-09 today it would be the 2020 or before. the new one is butt-ugly and IDC how advanced it is. in fact this year I plan on trading up from my MT-07 to a Tracer 9 GT. I think a full windshield to protect the rider from bug-strikes and cruise control is an often overlooked detail.

    I rode a 2016 FZ09 demo bike several times here at Gingerman & Grattan raceway in Michigan. Fun bike, front wheel floating slightly coming out of every corner! Of course the front forks are soft as hell if you are 200 lbs+ but aside from that, I didnt have any bad things to say about it handling wise. Ergos felt pretty close to my 09' 650R, only took a few laps to get used to it. :)

  • @bleh8310
    @bleh8310 3 года назад +1

    The way I view it is the FZ/MT is a blue collar bike. It may not be as refined or pretty as it's white collar competition, but it gets the job done for people who don't need track features. And for the $$$ saved you can get custom suspension which is better than name brand but still factory stock stuff on other bikes.
    Edit: granted I got my '15 FZ09 for $3500 with only 2k miles through pure luck, but I still wouldn't feel as bad if I wrecked an FZ versus wrecking a Triumph.

  • @ellusionarts5993
    @ellusionarts5993 3 года назад +10

    I had the new street triple RS and although it’s “refined” enough, it was an absolute snooze fest when it came to character of the bike. (Some disagree). The older models had much more character which is what the MT09 brings. As for reliability, triumph is still far behind other manufacturers; riding in dry conditions only, maintained well and garage kept, problems with the bike would still arise. TFT display would completely break, quickshifter/blipper failing, traction control and abs failure, all consistent issues which unfortunately occurs often. I can’t wait to here peoples reviews on the new MT09 to see if it does indeed take any character away from the bike. Refine a bike too much and it becomes lifeless. Hopefully it still retains that character whilst introducing more options of riding style for the rider.

I’ve wanted an MT-09 or 07 since 2015 and could never pull the trigger because of one of the dealerships that was so bad I walked out and uncertain how the suspension woes would be with my fat ass on it. Now that they have a new frame, geometry, 6 axis imu, added quality to things you touch. Figured it was time for me to finally experience the hype. Maybe if it’s good enough I will sell the Harley or trade it for a cheap daily.

  • @disaffectedmale
    @disaffectedmale 2 года назад +1

    Back in October 16, I was all set to purchase a 2014 Street Triple R at a multi franchise dealer near me after a couple of test rides. I thought it was fab coming from a 650 twin Kwacka and I really had a boner for the matt black with red accents paint on the one I was after. Which was a super low miles bike used in a movie apparently, they had 4 of them, it had a dented tank but they were going to replace it with a new one which was no biggie for a main Triumph agent.
    On my way out of the showroom I saw a brand new MT09 Sport Tracker on display. I really loved the look of it and was standing there a while looking at it. In a bike store that's equivalent of playing a 'can I help you riff' in a guitar shop and sure enough their Yamaha guy materialised out of nowhere. Ended up taking a test ride of their MT09 demonstrator upon the return from which I placed a deposit on the Sport Tracker I'd just been quietly jizzing over. Which I may add was almost an identical price to the used Triumph, for a brand new bike with warranties etc.
    Best way I can describe the difference is that the Triumph felt like a scalpel, cuts easily, surgically and with a minimum of fuss. I was bouncing off the limiter in a few gears during the 1st test ride and it was fast, no doubt. But like a scalpel should be, it was a little sterile because of it's ease to go fast real easy. It kinda rode itself, with amazing out of the box handling, made a great noise too and I liked it enough to very nearly buy one. Not slagging them off at all.
    In contrast, the MT09 nearly killed me three times on my test ride, scared the living crap out of me. Never got near the limiter, the ABS kicked in multiple times becase I was braking hard. Mainly though, It pulled like an absolute 8astard. However, at 80mph plus it felt like a jet powered pogo stick. Every corner or bend survived at 80 mph plus on a 2016 stock MT09 felt like a real achievement In comparison to the scalpel of a Triumph. I think of the Yamaha bike as a chainsaw, also cuts easily but makes a huge mess doing so and if you mishandle it then you're likely to accidentally end up minus a limb or two. SOLD!
    Now I don't know if this says something about my character or not, but I'm about to trade my 2016 Sport Tracker in for a 2022 MT10 in Tech Black after 5 happy years of ownership. Got a great trade in price. It's lost £2000 of value from new in 5 years, but she's almost completely pristine, with great add ons. Also, mine has the awesome (not at all road legal in UK) Akra carbon race can and straight through stainless headers, sounds like a frigging TIE fighter sometimes... or maybe that's just my imagination. We've been on some adventures and ended up in just the one ditch after a 3 mph spill (Don't go there.....) with somehow literally just the radiator as a casualty. Hilarious that this animal of a bike only ever came a cropper at such a low speed but still, it's time for something new. Gotta keep pushing that envelope and the new MT10 looks a hoot. It's an early 50th birthday present to myself. Also, I feel it's my duty to tell you Mr Spammy Boob that your moustache has to go in every comment I make on your videos. Peace.

    I've sat on an mt09 and the only part that I didn't really like about the feel of it was the seat, it didn't sit as snugly as I'd like, but I guess that helps it to come off so justified I guess

    I own an MT-09 and i disagree with your percieved perception about the bike. I have no problems cornering, power to weight is really good, fuel consumption is excellent. Alot of what you are saying about it is not well founded. Cheers from New Zealand

    Very well explained, big impression on my test ride, snatchy throttle and something weird about the handling......my friend has really improved his with the suspension mods you mentioned, I’m happier with my 2006 FZ1N than I would be with this...... does that mean I’m a dinosaur?

      It’s kind of not a competitor. It doesn’t really have any competition in the us anymore. It’s a competitor for the the old fz1 and z1000, which were different kinds of bikes in all actuality

      After about a year of research and testing I decided on the 2020 aprilia tuono factory and its amazing. Suspension is amazing, exhaust is perfect and its pretty comfortable for longer trips I'm 6'5 and 195 lbs and the seat seems like it sits higher then others. I like the Ducati street fighter v4s but it was about 5 grand more which I didnt think was worth it. Plus af1 racing had a heck of a deal of 0 down 0% interest. I pay just 350 a month for 60 months. All around its a great street bike you can take to the track and be full of confidence in every corner. Dont love the paint job on my 2020 its the atomic racer black but id recommend finding a 19 with the red wheels. Personaly thats my favorite paint scheme but it was more inticing to buy a new bike with no interest. Hope I could help buddy. Safe rides!

      @@michaelmorrison8846 man I tell you I went to af1 for my 600 mile service and they had a preowned 2020 790 Duke there and it was really hard for me to not get it I love the way they look. So afterwards, I went to the ktm dealer which is like a mile down the road and looked at their 890r, if I wouldnt have just bought my tuono I would definitely be a proud owner of the 890r. Its a middle weight bike but in my opinion I say it's top tier. Here soon that'll be my second bike. It to is very confidence inspiring I dont think you can go wrong on either one, the 790 or 890r but I did hear someone say if you like the 790 Just go ahead and buy the 890
