I put 255/80R17's on my GX470 and it is amazing. Much more off road capable than a wider tire. They are light and minimally effected my MPG. It's a good move for sure.
Hey so I’ve been running these tires for a couple weeks now and it does clear the cab mount 90% of the time. I’m running no sway bars, 2.5inch front lift and if your flexed and wheels turned in it will rub if your wheeling with any speed. But most of the time the fender flare and splash shield are what needs trimming if you plan on off-roading. If your only gonna use your truck on the street or even mild off-road I would only remove the front mud flap and just barely trim the flare and your basically Mint !
@@dylanbisson9675 You might double-check the front axle wheel alignment. From the coating of the soil on your front tires, it would appear there's just a wee bit positive camber, when I would think the settings would range from 0* camber to, say, 0.7* negative camber. Otherwise, your setup ROCKS. It is beautiful. I can only run a 33" on my 1.5" lift F150 so I went with the Toyo ATIII in LT255/80-17 (33.1" X 10") but if I ever raise the front ride height (as well as the rear) then I'm going with your tire: the Baja Boss A/T LT255/85-17s. Yeah, baby! YEAH. Not only does your setup look right, I'll bet that when the time comes and you're wheelin' w/ your buddies your tire may just well outperform all the fat 33s, 35s and 37s out there. Thanks I’m really liking the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss tires. Very quite on the road for an AT , decent in the snow haven’t tested mud or rocks yet. The Pizza cutters are a good option for the mid size trucks. A lot easier to turn than a normal 35 12 wide tire
I was pretty excited when I discovered the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T. They look great and have a more aggressive tread pattern than most A/Ts without the noise and poor winter traction of an M/T. Sadly they were not available in the size I needed, so I ended up getting the Falken A/T4W's. So far I'm quite happy with them but I'm curious how people are liking these Baja Boss tires.
I'm currently researching these for my '06 Sequoia. I've had 315/75-16s on 80 series wheels with 1" spacers on it for the past six years and it just sucks so bad. The steering wheel gets yanked all over the place off road, it follows ruts and grooves like a MF'er on the road, gets really rowdy under braking, it won't stay aligned, it chews through front wheel bearings like crazy, and despite trimming, a 4" lift, and the spacers, they still rub at full stuff and at the lock, and the rear tries really hard to do the fender flare delete that the 80 Series are so known for. I threw the stock wheels and tires back on today to see how it felt with the contact patch in the correct location relative to the steering axis and god damn, it drove like it was stock. I fell in love with it again, so I'll be pulling the trigger on these skinnies this week.
Looks great. I'm currently running 285/75R17 Toyo AT III (approx 34x11.50) on my Gladiator but strongly considering these for my next tire. Big diameter without the weight. Only thing is that the Toyos are available in a Load Range C which is nice for mid size trucks and I think the Mickeys are Load E.
same. I'm on a 2" OME lift...i went with 265/70/17 because I didn't want to have to do the body mount chop, but feel like they look too small at some angles. I know a 255/80/17 will fit but if I can fit these without much modification I would like to.
I just put on the MTs and had to trim the fender well, but I have no rubbing on the cab mount. It’s good to go and they look and ride awesome. Go for it
@@davidcastellanos2492yes I did. MT AT’s 255/85/r17. About 2.5 of lift, trimming fender wells and cab mount chop were necessary. They’re great. Speedy, but really happy with them. They’re really tall. It’s a big skinny tire and they look awesome!
They’re 35’s, measuring 34.76” diameter. Nine out of ten tires measure approximately 1/2” smaller when tagged 33”, 35” or 37” diameter. Some of the most heavy duty mud terrains buck this trend.

The Mickey Thompson actually measures out to 34.6 which is as close to 35 as most advertized 35’s

From what I read that size is actually 33.1 and never heard of any rubbing
So just checked and they are considered 35s! I was wrong. Most of the other brands come in at 33.1
