It’s kinda crazy how I actually relate to this song so strongly. I had a bf last year who was still friends with his ex, and it was obvious he still liked her. I didn’t wanna say anything about it, but I still had a bad feeling about them. (the “you two showed up matching like you’ve been her man” part reminds me of when the two of them would match profile pics on insta while I was supposed to be matching with him, lol.) I never wanted to say anything about it because I was afraid he would replace me with her, and we broke up about a month later. Even crazier because we were also friends to lovers.

Thank you so much for making this. I was in a 3 year relationship with a guy and 2 out of the three years I felt like I was controlling and my toxic friends (his new gf’s besties) would harass and attack me when I got uncomfortable with everything they were doing together (they would say things like I love you to each other and would sit on each other’s laps and would do things that only couples would do). Both told me to not worry and that they were just friends. And as time went on I realized that if I said anything about how their actions made me uncomfortable her friends would insanity come in and make me be quiet. I had no voice or say in MY relationship. He broke up with me a week before exams and started dating her 2 days later. I honestly wish I would have found this song before he dumped me so I could’ve seen all the major red flags

Story/vent:
My first boyfriend had a thing for my best friend (I knew this from the beginning of our relationship and came to terms with it). About two months or so into the relationship he told me bc someone else was using it against him and was gonna tell me. He was total bs. "my heart is weird and Idk why... but it's telling me I like [ best friend ]... I don't know what to do anymore... I still love you... you'll always be my number one" Instead of lashing out, I told him, "Its normal to like others while you're in a relationship... It's just acting on those feelings that makes it wrong".
What did all of this earn me? Barely seeing him for the next two days bc he was talking with her (he missed our 2 month anniversary date bc of this), the message "Hey, I feel as if you've been really distant lately", and weeks on weeks of him flirting with her in front of me (including valentines day :D ).
(there's so much more to the story, but that would just kill off more of ya'll's braincells)
