- On a solo trip to the cabin to bring supplies before the snow melts, made a great pot of claim chowder, and checked out some new spots for brook trout fishing before the ponds and lakes thawed
I’ve been living in Manitoba for 27 years and every time I watch one of your videos and it makes me homesick for the West Coast of Newfoundland. Thank you so much for sharing it.!

Lol thanks
Another top shelf video! Always love the boil ups! Best part! And that solar panel thing looks just great! 👍🏻
Thanks! 👍
Everything tastes better cooked over a woodstove. Cabin life is the Life!
Right
Absolutely you can’t beat it.
@@thenewfoundlandoutsider6354 what is the main source of heat at the cabin, the diesel heater or the wood cook stove?
I see someone got himself a new Kelly Kettle. Perfect thing for a big tea drinker like you.
Yes
Beautiful cook stove! And a good fishing expedition!👍😎🇨🇦❄
Thanks 👍
Thank you for sharing, the lake was beautiful - nice tree lines scenery.

What a perfect day you had! Thank you for sharing it.
Thankyou
Always remember a bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work. Just saying. Lol looks awesome around there!!
Lol exactly
The ice is melting out this way pretty fast as well. Spring is definitely in the air; there certainly is nothing like a good bowl of clam chowder.
Lol perfect
Thank you for another great video. Love it!
Thanks
Always worth the time.
Appreciate it
That place just says HOME out loud ❤ love it.

Hi Bob! My oh my there's such beautiful scenery in newfoundland. That was a nice lake you was fishing. Be interesting to see how the fishing is come may or June there. When the bugs are so thick you don't dare open your mouth . Lol. Thank you Bob for taking us along with you.
No problem take care
You're right about that.
Always enjoy your vids. That chowder and biscuit looked really good! Spring is coming and looking forward to the next new improvements on the cabin. Cheers!

Yes indeed
Great video and great food.

I use to fish brooks in front of the beaver feed because the minnows would have some shelter.
Yes me too
Great video, love watching you on your adventures, Nova Scotia here 😅
Thanks
That looks delicious, keep up the awesome work and videos
Thanks
The pole in the middle makes your cabin look a little like a Dr. Seuss book home. But Ido like it, adds Character.
Thanks
Excellent video.
Thanks appreciate it
Great video as always
Thanks
Love it man love that cabin too
Oh and love that music
Thanks 👍
Another masterpiece BL!! One of many things I greatly enjoy in your videos is that you just come across so natural and unpretentious. I’ve watched other outdoor Newf channels, where it almost seems like they’re trying too hard to be a Newfoundlander.
It doesn’t look like your cabin area got the massive dump of snow other areas of Newfoundland got the other week.
BTW, do you think you might ever make a driveable road into your cabin?
Thanks appreciate that and your right
You've done such a great job on that cabin. A great place to spend quality time in any season, though I would say the most challenging season is coming up: spring/mud/bug season!
Thanks
I like those sun glasses!
Thanks
You finally hit the lucky spot trouting. Clam chowder looks amazing. Great shoutout to Darrell again.......he strikes....
Thanks
Pretty cool kettle didn’t see one like that before

Thanks
You found the honey hole for the trout in the spring! 😉 Nice video Bob.
Thanks. It's a good spot.
Clam chowder looks good . thanks for sharing the video enjoyed watching have a great week
Thanks you too
Another great video Bob. Love the ice fishing. We are at the end here in northern Ontario.
Lol sad times
Nice video! Thanks. Like the rod storage!
Thanks
The cabin is freaking awesome and I love that place. Come on fish , ah success. Endeavor to catch the fish.
Lol thanks
Just an idea you might want to consider moving your fuel tank outside the wall of the cabin on your diesel heater. Takes away from bringing diesel into the cabin as well you could increase the size of the storage. Love your cabin and the fishing trips in Ontario we only dream of having a set up such as yours
Thks for the videos
Your welcome and thanks for the tip
Good man..I miss the rock..don't forget now to get hold of the book ,Around the Rock..a trip on kayak back in 2001..
I'll check it out
Looks delicious
Yep
Fabulous episode once again. I gotta try the clam Chowder by difficult to get the clams in Australia, unless anyone has any ideas? This ice fishing is completely foreign to us down here, but would like to try one day perhaps. All the best.
Thanks, would love to see your country
In lower NY there is a whole mess of reservoirs that connect for NYC's water supply. Some quite large and well over 100 feet deep in spots. One further upstate is 15 miles long. Shore or row boats only. Some big trout, they feed on sawbellies which are freshwater alewives. Small and Largemouth bass also. Almost all of the reservoirs have a big buffer zone meaning no houses. I am going to hit that hard in the next couple of weeks with some silver spoons and spinners.
On Long Island where I live, which is pretty densely populated, there are six identified populations of brook trout believe it or not. Not as big in size as yours. Many many years ago Daniel Webster caught a 14 pound salter. The dictionary guy I believe.
I love your channel. I would rather have a cabin than a Ferrari. However if Pamela Sue Anderson was driving that might tip the scales towards the car.
Lol thanks
Another great one . Thank you.
You're welcome
7:03 my kind of food you sure eat good 😊
Lol thanks
Awesome always look forward to your videos!
Thanks
Thankyou 😊
You're welcome
I just got a kelly kettle this yr best thing i bought for the woods in a long time nothing better than tea and toutons with a smoky flavor out rabbit hunting.
Indeed
Nice to see the Kelly kettle Bob , I have the base camp little bit too big for the napsack but excellent water boiler.
Yes
Hi Love your vids
Thanks
Mare's tail clouds. Bad weather coming in. Wonder if that had anything to do with the fishing?
Another great video! Thank you, sir!
(Edit: posted my comment before you talked about low pressure systems etc. )
Yes I was wondering that too
Thanks…… nice catch today
Thanks
Absolutely love your channel, fantastic. Are there mountain lions in that area.

Thank you!
Brookies are fun to catch. Any other species in those ponds?
Young salmon
Mom would have said something if she saw that much of a good potatoe being taken with the peel.
Lol
Good times Bob thank you, what is your overall impression of your diesel heater, I need one for my shop roughly the size of your cabin, would you want a different size or model erc. Thank you.
I think its great when my cabin gets fully insulated I don't think I need anything else but you might want to consider the remote fuel tank but I don't mind my 8 litre tank lasts three 12 hour nights, hope this helps
Hello from the Manitoba Interlake, subscribed, what year of sled you running? Mine is a 2006 Expedition,550 fan.
