For the Bucket Mouse Trap... fill it about 1/4 - 1/3 full of water and add some vegetable oil to the water (not a lot, just enough to get the water slick). Throw out the water and mice each morning and repeat. The water is self explanatory, the oil is to keep them from getting a claw purchase on the plastic. If the temp is hovering around freezing, add salt to turn the water to salt water to lower the freezing point.

Newfoundland has always been a bucket list destination for me. It’s moved way up on my list since I’ve been watching your videos.
You’ve shown me lots of food (dishes) I’ve never seen before but I’d gladly try all of it. You can’t say you don’t like something you’ve never tried and I’m very open minded when it comes to food! 😊
Your channel is absolutely one of my favorites 👍🏻🍻

A small smear of peanut butter on traps works well. Also mice don’t like peppermint. I had a mouse in my work truck in Alberta. Poured a drop of peppermint in each air duct and like clock work the mouse was out of there.

Hi Bob, another great video. Here are some things I am hoping you cover some day:
    - How to bottle moose meat.
    - I would love to see your garden and what you can get out of a relatively short growing season.
    - Making a Jigg's dinner.
    - Do you trap for lobster and crab?
    - Do you do anything with hides and pelts?
I continue to look forward to every second Sunday and watching your videos. Cheers from BC.

Love the cabin man. Another great way to kill mice and shrews when not around is to get a few large mason jars with a hole big enough in the center of the lid for them to clib in (2/3 inch hole). Bury the jars ground level. Mice and shrews will walk over and see it as a hole in the ground. Once in they try to jump up the wall of the glass but can't scale it. My dad baited it with a small bit of salt meat. Everytime we returned to the cabin all was in the jar was dozens of tails if not hudreds, and usually one whole shrew on top. It self baits using the previous rodent. They eat their own. Just install them where they won't fill with rainwater. But 3 or 4 of them left around when you are not there should help. Cheers! Thanks for the video. Me and the wife enjoyed relaxing and watching on the big screen.

Use peanut butter for mouse bait. Make sure you adjust your traps so they are "sensitive" and trip easily. My experience is to not use the traps with the plastic bait holder. Always go for the old fashioned type with the copper plate. Easy to adjust the tension. Always enjoy your videos. Thanks.

You can actually cut your budget by heating up the dark chocolate and coating mini marshmallows, 1 tiny one per trap or if you have bird seed or nuts to coat with the chocolate that would work too. You can also catch birds with a bucket trap and using the same bird seed just not covered in chocolate you just have apply a trap door lid .

Those bucket traps work great on shrews too. You usually don't know how many you catch because they are little cannibals. Glad too see that you got rid of that outside shower and the the door. The cabin is really shaping up. By the way, I like seeing your Pioneer 500 parked there. Gotta say that I love mine too.

OMG I eat those dark chocolate squares ALL the time. I discovered them about 5 years ago at Costco. I only eat dark chocolate as milk chocolate upsets my stomach because of all the preservatives they put in them. btw we had a mouse infestation (we don't anymore) and at first I used cheese but later on I started to use peanut butter (smooth). Caught them all the time. I want to keep the squares for myself so try some peanut butter and you'll definitely get them all. Sealing any gaps/ closing up around your foundation would help as well. Nice collection of bottles you got there. I like the glass lanterns as well. You know I discovered your channel when you first bought the place and now it looks really nice inside. I remember you saying that you were going to give the outside a good paint job, but I guess you decided on siding. Good choice as the paint wouldn't last that long anyways. I noticed you removed the wood stove so I gather the cook stove heats up your cabin just as well. btw my husband and I live near the foothills of the Rockies and we used to breed pure bred Siberian Huskies. One of our clients used to live in Calgary but later on she and her husband moved to Newfoundland. I had a trip lined up about 6 years ago to visit them but unfortunately broke my wrist in 2 places and could not travel. I still want to go there. She lives about an 8 hour drive south east of St. John's in Hermitage. Anyways, back to your video. I better start watching them in order instead of jumping all over the place. Looking forward to that. So sorry for the longggg comment. LOL LOL

I watched on u tube where they put food in the bottom of the bucket the mice will smell it drop in the pail., you could leave it in the bathroom when your gone to catch them the squirrel won't get in there. The mouse traps you cancer that you pinch them like a clothes pin are excelling you don't have to handle the mouse. I got mine at the hardware store. Thanks for sharing .
