Today we make a wizards staff. Largely inspired from the magic wand video you may have seen earlier, this is the continuation of the epic chronicles where I learn woodcarving, leathercrafts, bookbinding and so much more. What a magical journey into my fantasy this is turning into, and I can't wait to do more crafts and DIYs with the epic, fantasy theme.

“I completely randomly made this DIY pressure chamber” 🤣🤣🤣 I love them they’re so cute and funny
I would like your comment but... 69
"and it's absolutely unsafe"
I had to stop the video for a moment because I couldn't hear anything but my laughter :D I just love those moments :D ❤
Hansi ex machina
Relationship goals
Okay, woodworking, bookbinding, electrician work, miniature models, fantasy nerdship, painting and more, all under an umbrella of artistic creation.....
It's an incredibly pleasant affair to discover a thing this wonderful when you have never asked for it, thought about it, searched for it or had any idea that it would make you happy.
And for that, I thank you.
yes!!
Hansi: "it's super unsafe"
Martina: Say no more
This is why they work well together.
Hansi: I made it just for you..
But It's "Super Unsafe".
Martina: Thank You very, very much. You really, Really do like me..
I need to find someone who can work and match with my impulse and vibe like these two
( lol )
Me: *starts googling instructable for unsafe pressure pot*
Damn!!! This is sooo epic. Really appreciate the effort to hide electronics there! Well thought!

Find the imposter
Ok, yeah everything she makes is beautiful but can we talk about the stellar video editing?
Also love the "super unsafe" comment
Yes! The attention to detail and her transitions and time lapses are so good!
About 35 years ago I made a staff with a ball on top. I used straight piece of oak branch that I found on a hike and carved it with a 3-bladed pocket knife. Then I flame-tempered it and after scraping all the char off I hand-rubbed it until it was nice and smooth. Since I was a big LotR nerd (and still am) I carved a bunch of runes in it from the appendixes of The Return of the King. Since the staff was a deep brown color the freshly carven runes really popped, as they were the color of un-flamed bare wood.
I ended up giving the staff to my father as a Father's Day gift many years ago. He passed on Tuesday from cancer and as I was cleaning his house and getting together his belongings I found the staff in the closet. He kept it all these years along with a small wooden hound dog I had carved for him.
Anyway, love the channel, it's good to see someone inspiring others to be creative especially in the fantasy realm. The world is so messed up nowadays, everyone needs an escape as well as a positive creative outlet...this channel serves both purposes and I'm glad I found it!
This one took soo much time to make! What do you think about these fantasy-inspired builds? (I love them if you didn't realize by now).
Thanks for watching and waiting for this vid, I know it's been a while since the last one!
I love it. And your channel. You make amazing things keep up the good work guys
I really think that the fantasy builds are cool, and I love your bookbinding videos. But, do you plan on finishing the lazer blaster?
Love it so much. How many hours did it take you to make it?
@@obitoasty7065 Great question. Since many of these techniques are new to me, and we do a lot of cameraworkas well, it's probably not representative for another person, but around 60-70 hours. There was a lot of time spent figuring out how to do stuff, etc. so doing it again would probably only take around 15-20 hours.
I LOVE THEM THEY'RE AMAZING!
Just an old lady here who thinks she was born a few generations too soon. Martina, you're an inspiration to young women everywhere to be creative thinkers, problem solvers, and makers. I love projects and always have at least one going, but your skills are so far beyond mine it's crazy. This video, in particular, helped me figure out how to do a hollow casting (and bubbles aren't a concern, but thanks, Hansi), and I do so love learning new skills. Thanks to both of you for all of your very informative and entertaining videos.
"And it's totally unsafe!" "PERFECT!"
The same vibe as this: “ah yes, a wizard staff.”
P R A C T I C A L I T Y
My favourite part hahaha
Words I live by-
Her: working on an epic project she's never attempted before.
Also her: "I just figured out that I can carry my coffee mug with this staff."
Friends: why can't you just have a plain old fish tank?
Me: because I watch Nerdforge... and I KNOW this little guy wants to be a sunken treasure chest.
Treasure chest fish tank? 🤔
good job very very good job. Give him a tiny castle too
They need real plants if u have a fish to make them look fancy
This is FRICKIN' EPIC!! I would genuinely be making one now if it wasn't for my lack of funding for importing half a tree, buying 12 gallons of epoxy resin, purchasing of several power tools and my lack of a Hansi for DIY pressure cooker whatsamajig.
However.... I *could* make miniature versions with sticks and UV resin and turn them into earrings! **grabs sketchbook**
BTW; anyone else getting random Zelda vibes from this staff?
Yep, Zelda vibes. Zelda💚💚🥰🥰🥰💚💚💚
defo with the zelda vibes and love the earring idea
Hmm, you don’t need to import half a tree I think. Depending on where you live, you could do the same with just an ordinary plank. Local shops should sell them though you may need to do some looking. You also don’t need power tools! Annnndd….that’s about that for my comfort comment, dunno about substituting a pressure cook and resin. I guess you could just design a 100% wood staff? With cool carvings and stuff?
a diy pressure pot, a true gift for valentine's day
Trommari as you do
Her: I'm not really good at making things functional, I'm good at making them look good
Me: So you're good at building, but not redstone?
XD
Literally me xd

Martina and Hansi, walking to the hardware store: ah shit here we go again
This channel is so underrated. No only are the projects cool the editing is really good
Wrench staff! That's funny!
Hansi appearing with the "super unsafe" vacuum chamber and the bad acting was an excellent touch.
Beautiful work as always!
It`s pressure chamber. So the pressure goes up and that thing can go flying in pieces.
I feel like out of all of the amazing fantasy outfits we have been shown and all of the fantasy items you have made, you would be able to film a whole fantasy movie (or short movie) featuring all of the items. It would definitely be a huge project and I understand that but the outcome would be too good to even describe with words.
+!
Her: make Amazing wizard thingie.
Me with a stick : im a god , fear me.
Yea, sex is great and all, but have you ever got to know how it feels to find a good stick in the forest? That's better.
@@valentinmitterbauer4196 Absolutly
@mid-life crisis at 19 damn yeah
Yes!!! Live the Wizard dream, fear the stick !!!!
@@courtneycherry113 the death stick
The voice in the beginning!!! Got chills ngl
Your a true wizard for doing this stuff. First spell-books, then magic wands, and now a wizards staff. I wish I had your magical talents.
Ugh she’s so talented!! She could literally just sell that staff sketch at the beginning for her planning and I’d buy it lol
Her:"None of these are great"
Me: *cries in the corner* " i can't even make garbage. "
That's not true...
Everybody can make garbage. Take this comment, for instance. It's garbage. d:
Edit: The garbage comment I was referring to was my own. I got no beef with JulietteASM or her comment.
I was super impressed with the drawings even wow
@@kolpik3708 damn. That roast thoooooo
I used to study woodworking and this channel has made me fall in love with it so much again! I wish I had a workshop like this. You guys are awesome!
With so much dedication to carve this huge wooden plank and then split and re-glue it back and shape the top part, I can no longer resist and join as a member! Please don't stop doing what you are doing! Just be a bit more safe when drilling things, no need to loose a hand ;) well, and wood+PVC pressure pot also... fun, but you two deserve good tools!
this is the first ad for RSL that's actually got me thinking the person involved cares about the game and made me consider getting it
It made me so happy that you actually listen to your subscriber's. As I was watching you and your amazing craftsmanship...I cried. It is so stunning. Yes, I'm possibly a loon.
Love your work.
Omg I too got emotional watching her work. Its just so beautiful when people can do things with their own hands 😭🤩😍
God, I think you truly are THE most inspirational youtuber I know. You're more inspirational than channels which DO self-help motivational inspirational stuff, and you are so completely effortlessly, without even trying to be inspirational, you are! Thank you for what you do and sharing your skills and talents with us in such a beautiful and fun way!
MARTINA: [SHAKING FIST AT THE SKY.] "Oh, land of my forefathers - why are you overburdened with Pine trees?!? Would it kill you to sprout the occasional Oak?? " 😭
"Actually, I have to clean up after myself" hahahaha relatable 😁
Wand? Nah
Giant staff of hitting? YES
The shoosha stick 😂
I love how they definitely made a pressure chamber by complete coincidence but most importantly it’s made out of plié wood and it’s even one hundred% dangerous!!
Netflix needs to sign them up!!
The "Staff of Power" it holds the substance with greatest power known to mankind, COFFEE!
😂
"It looks like a giant wrench!"
Me: Technomancer...
So first she mastered steampunk?
Martina, you did it! It turned out way better than I dared to imagine. Very very well done.
And just so you know, those other staff designs you drew kicks ass.
Great job :)
this channel is putting more fantasy in my life and I love it
Throws down 10 breathtaking staffs like it's nothing then cut to her saying "I figured none of these were really great"
Like what the heck are you talking about!? Those are beautiful!
Hansi to the rescue with that homemade pressure chamber.
He's cute and resourceful. A deadly combo. 😉
For your next staff, you can try to use magnets to hold the removable pieces in place. And when do we get to see a build video on that 'use at your own risk' pressure chamber?
Wow, awesome build! The intro earned my like, the rest earned my subscription
"i made this for your!...... It's super unsafe!" Lmao 😂 best thing ever
"get your shit together" actually made me laugh... 😄
Amazing work.. and props for working out in the cold to do it. 👏🏻
13:50 this is such a good bit it made my heart melt you guys are so cute omggggggg
Yassss I agree so cute
Hey so a tip I learned is starting the pour, doing the tapping, popping bubbles with a flame thrower, then once it gets to this certain state (I can't remember when) it's good to pour more and do the same thing. It's a big pour so all the heat makes it weird.
Of course that's if you didn't have an awesome diy pressure chamber to make a perfect one
13:50 I like the green blue bubble balls [there mystical imo] I really like that staff
I am officially addicted to watching your channel! Your mind is amazing!
15:02 i like how she continue playing with it like nothing happened XD Good job btw! I love it
You're a genius... I wouldn't have ever thought of the jig thing... And all your projects are so creative... I'm in awe
If your bf hasn't made you a pressure chamber, is he even your boyfriend?
lol
I have to say, BRAVO!!!! I have been a carpenter and cabinet maker for 25 yrs and you learn quickly. So many younger people I try to train just don't get it. But You seem to! Mucho respect Martina.
This was out 10 minutes ago and 3 people already dislike it
They're just afraid of your skill, dw
They fear the mighty crafter
Just a few wizards that have staff envy!
Haters gonna hate, pay them no mind.
What makes me laugh is to get to the video that fast they have to be subscribed 😂
Maybe safety people?
Watching the old videos make us more obsessed with the two of you. Love Hansi comming to the rescue to support his girl every time.
Have you made a treasure chest yet? I would LOVE to see your carvings on that!!!
I love you actually dressed up to match the staff, like you did for the crystal at the hill scenery.
Absolutely stunning! I speak from the heart when I say you both are amazing content creators and truly inspire me to be creative. I want to say THANK YOU for dedicating your time towards that! Also right on for being yourself Martina because your personality and mannerisms are hilarious and make the videos that much more entertaining! Keep on staying awesome!
Ok, it’s in the middle of the night and I can’t stop watching your videos. 😅
During a job interview:
- "Ok, let's test your troubleshooting skills. What if-"
- "*Ahem* ACTUALLY, I have a Hansi at home."
Cowabunga! Hired on the spot.
P.S. That's one mean staff! You did a terrific job, Martina. Wouldn't have expected any less.
The jig you made to round off the staff was BRILLIANT! I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!! 🥰🥰🥰
Hansi: Made out of Plywood, PVC pipe & it's completely unsafe
Me: No LEDs?!
I love that you are using a hand planner. I fine that it always gives wood a nice look.
I know this is not supposed to be a tutorial, but it still gives me some very good ideas about how to make a Staff of Magius for my Raistlin Cosplay! So thanks!
Ooh, Raistlin! How has that gone?
@@songofshadow5043 Honestly I kinda gave up although I do have some very nice fabric for a cloak
@@mossthemage9948 Aw. Well, cloaks are cool.
If you collect all the saw dust and mix it with pva glue, you can use it as a filler for that wood. Will also stain the same too
I love how much work you put into all your builds ❤️ the staff looks absolutely beautiful 😍 and it's so cool that the orb has kind of a blue smoke inside - I don't know if it was on purpose since it looked like it was hard so mix the color but it looks so cool!
I really don’t think most people who aren’t crafty understand how much effort and pain it is to do all the designing and crafting you do I’m going to be making a leather bound book soon based on your videos your amazing keep up the good work
"I CAN PICK UP MY COFFEE WITH IT" LMAO
Absolutely stunning! I'm new to the channel due to this epidemic. But I am so happy I found it! Thank you RUclips! It's a beautiful gem! I'm definitely impressed with all the hard work and thoughtfulness you put into your work. Well done my dear. I'm so happy I am here. ❤💯
You look like a Night Elf of Teldrassil with that outfit and beautiful staff! The LEDs make it seem like it is really magical. So well done!!!
Need a video on the unsafe pressure tank build! Love both you guys. great job.
Awesome staff, really Good looking project!!! 😍Next time, try pouring in thinner layers, pouring the next One before the previus One is completely hardened, should make it less deformed as well as the first layers reinforces the next ones om top 😁
Hey Nerdforge, if you ever want to make something with resin that glows, Stuart Semple has a website called culturehustle.com. He sells a powder pigment called Lit. It's a glow in the dark powder that stays lit for up to 12 hours and can be charged with light or heat and is NOT radioactive or toxic. I'm not sponsored by them, I just wanted to share a cool art thing.
anyway if y'all need me i'll be out in the forest finding a suitable fallen branch to practice my woodworking skills on
I'm here just for that intro am I right? This is so freaking coooooooooool!
6:39 "It looks like a wrench right now, which destroys the epicness"
Ratchet and Clank: "Excuse us?"
lol
This might be my favourite project of yours, because of the high quality of materials - real wood, leather and gold leaf. I wonder if the sphere with tiny bubbles wouldn't have worked fine too, and perhaps hidden the LEDs better in the end.
Soooo cooool!
From dead wood, of course.
Have you looked into the Plecter Labs solutions for light sabers? They might help you with the LED part, and add sound fonts as well. Hope that helps!
You've become one of my favorite "makers" on YT. Binging all your videos and enjoying them immensely. Keep it up. Maybe one day you'll get to do something with Adam Savage. You definitely deserve a shout-out on his channel.
That is completely sweet, I also liked your other rendering’s
"Dear... The weird girl who steals gravel is out there with a big stick..."
Why is everything you make so nice!?
I just wanted to say hi and that the stuff you do inspires me so much and this was soooo cool
Yes!
You could of used threaded "nutserts" for the wooden triangle piece @ 8:26 .. For easy and frequent removal. Threads on either or both sides...There are many styles for wood and steel.
You guys are a unique couple when one earns the other's smooch with .... a pressure vessel! I'm on the right channel now! Thanks so much for sharing your journeys in art/making/craft/problem solving! ... Final result? You're a Queen of the Forest in that final look!
Amazing work! What you can still try, if you're wanting that ultimate clear shine like how you had when you first had it, is using some 3k sand paper to wet sand the surface; then using polishing compound and a dremmel polishing bit (2k rpm speed) slowly polish it until you are satisfied!
You are so talented, and your work are admirable! I love when your vids pop my notification box! Plz can you do the final elemental book, I am dying to see the last element!! Plz plz plz
Excellent staff. I just discovered your channel, and I wanted to say that the improvement you have made over the last 3 years is AMAZING! The production values, your English, the editing, and the sound quality are now all top notch. You two do an incredible job producing extremely high quality content. Subscribed!
When sanding resin remember to put on a mask if it's not completely dry!!!
This is awesome!!! Just started watching your vids like last week and I'm already crazy about the things you make!
My dad works with resin and the bubbles are the hardest thing to deal with. When stirring I guess just don't stir too hard, and also make sure you stir after to remove them, wait a little before pouring the resin into the container, this also helps the bubbles go away.
It's also good how you didn't polish the sphere too much, it would've ended up too transparent so you'd see the LEDs.
I honestly wanna give this a shot myself now, never done any kind of manual work myself but this makes me wanna get started and experiment a little, thanks!!
Just found out you gave your staff prop too for the short film "Distance" ! Very cool 👍
i like that emerald dress. there is something missing in the staff and that is the leaves. the staff resembles a large tree branch so it should look close to that, rough unperfect linings with leaves it should look somewhat old and twisted.
Amazing job, girl! Really fantastic! 😃
I enjoy that your commentary is useful, and not an overload of information.
The pressure chamber bit omg hahahqhahq
So reletable cus i myself have made one out of a pressure cooker and i fear for my life everytime i use it
Very beautiful! I love the finished staff! Thanks for sharing the creation process with us, Martina!
HOLY JESUS CHRIST IT LOOKS AWESOME
It looks like it's straight out of a book! Now: does it control Thunder, or water?
My guess would be air.
IT CONTROLS THE COFFEE
It controls electricity, that's why it's blue and has a battery.
Hi, I just stating watching your channel and wanted to say you are amazing. Love your creativity and how many tools and materials you know how to work with. Wanted to add a helpful hint to finishing the epoxy globe. (you may know this but no harm telling you)
My stepfather taught me how to paint a car and the main process was the sanding part. The last stage in the painting process, after adding a few coats, was to wet sand it and use 1000 Grit wet sandpaper. It made the gloss finish like a mirror. I only mentioned because when you were walking in the dark I could still see the sandpaper marks from rotating it on the drill. It may be helpful in future projects. Hope it helps...
you are an amazing artist! Wish I could just sketch objects like that!
I think this is my fave project. So many materials and it looks so noble.
Damn that looks so good, maybe if there’s a next time for a staff try a plasma ball instead of a solid color. ❤️
wow. just wow. I like you.
Another great job! A Vacuum degassing tank works well for clearing out bubbles and low pressure is always safer than high pressure! Better too for RTV Silcone molds and Polyurethane casting materials.
