Because of Sue I was able to identify Rose Medallion at an auction. I purchased a Original Rose Medallion Large Bowl on Pedestal for $1 at an auction and sold it on ebay for $450 in 2 hours. I had know idea at the auction if it was authentic or not, when I got home and researched I was pleasantly surprised that is was the real deal. Thank you, Sue

I'm guessing Sue was an art teacher. The way she inspects and appreciates the pieces and how she speaks about the era reminds me of an art teacher I know.

My husband and I have dealt in antiques for 20+ years. We have sold antiques for over 25 years online. He just retired from years of working in Antique Auction Companies. You can soak that blue and white pitcher in clorox and most likely the discoloration will come out. That actually works on just about any ceramic or porcelain antique or vintage item. Lots of times if the item has crazing, which is literally just the glaze on top of the paint cracking, usually from fluctuations of temperature over time, and the crazing gets discolored like it tends to do, you can just soak it in clorox water and it will come right out. One more little thing, if I were you I would have picked up the modern cactus planters because you could have turned a bigger profit off of them than you do with the vintage planters, because cactus are really, really, trending right now. It is always best to take advantage of trends when they are really hot because you can mark the item up a lot more than you normally would. When you were looking at that light yellow colored vase or carafe, I couldn't quite tell which it was, there was another item that looked like a cactus planter edged in a dark pink that again would have gone great with the other two cactus planters and would have sold really well. LOL! Right after I typed the above, you come across the motherlode of cactus planters! LOL!
My guess on the owl cookie jar is that it was made in Taiwan. Looks so very much like the vintage items from there. ♡♡♡

Loud music seems to be a thing in many retail stores. A friend of mine told me they do it because supposedly it drives sales. How the heck that works I don't know. It makes me want to leave the store asap.

You were sure right to complain about the music. Our GW is getting so obnoxious that way I can barely stand to be in the store five minutes. Also they have been putting higher priced stickers over old GW stickers from other stores. I found this out because I was curious to find a different GW sticker under our GW's, so took the trouble to carefully peel it off when I got home. I was really annoyed they would do that when they are getting everything for free. Greed is a sneaky snake that has bitten them, and I think GW has forgotten they are supposed to be a charity. If they keep raising their prices, so folks of lesser means can't afford to shop, they may find themselves going the way of J.C. Penny, Sears, Montgomery Ward, and Kmart. Having said that, I am happy you have a friend there who will turn the music off. I am also happy you found so many fun things. The owls of course are a hoot! ha ha ha You and Sue have so much fun it always cheers my day. I hope you have a great day and did well at the Community Aid. See you on the next one!

Sue and Casey to the rescue..........The Denby/Langley bowls used to be very collectible not sure if they still are I think they are the mayflower design lots online about Langley pottery, Nice Find!

I’m so glad I found your channel. I’m addicted now. So I went to the local thrift store and found 3 pieces that I’m trying to find the value of. I’m so excited. 1 nippon tray, beautiful and no chips just slightly worn. A Schirnding Bavaria plate with a teddy bear on the front and bow pattern painted on the back the same as the bears hat. A small cream pitcher with a wheat type pattern on it made in Germany I just can’t read the stamp on the bottom. So now I have big plans for retirement. Excited and all thanks to you and Sue.

I have two little white bears, signed Fenton and painted as Santas! One sitting and one on his tummy... and no one seems interested. BUT I could keep them as while they are NOT FAIRY LAMPS, they are darling. The person that painted them (signed) gave their faces the most darling characters. And wee Santa hats!!

What's up with Goodwill sometimes? I was in there today and the prices were ridiculous. High prices on so many things. The shelves are overflowing and there's barely room for more, yet nothing was prices decently. I don't get it.

It is happening at mine.They are throwing out a lot of stuff or they stay at the shelves forever because of the overpriced stuff they sell.
@@vaderladyl They pile so much stuff on top of stuff that you can't hardly look through it without half of it ending up on the floor. Plus the aisles are so tight only one cart at time can go through easily. It's a shame.

I still can’t get over the size of your GW. In Rockville MD , next to DC , The whole store is the size of your 1 isle. And that goes for the 1 in Gaithersburg MD , up the road too.
It’s going to be the holidays before you know it! And at 2 minutes in you pass by coppery chafing dish with all its pieces, fantastic for warming dips, keeping rolls warm, and it looks great doing it. I never go without mine!

When I worked at Toys R Us, all of the employees were sick of the music. I imagine that the Goodwill employees are the same, and the music drives them nuts too. They probably love any chance to turn it off!
Back in 89 I worked at a gift shop that sold Fenton. I loved those beautiful pieces. I wish I had invested in some of them.
