I've gotten better at walking out "empty-handed", thanks to you two! I also find myself saying "Yes, please!" when I find something awesome! The other customers tend to stay clear of me...Ha!
Clear glass may not be as popular now or best for resale, but I love lead crystal and clear glass and still collect it for myself (i'm in my 30's) because it goes with everything, and works for any occasion.
💕💚 THANK YOU 💕❤ A HUGE THANK YOU 💙💜💛 just in case you have ever felt that your work isn't important . I just want you to know by watching your videos you've INSPIRED me & given me a purpose when I truly needed it .i shop sooo much & FINALLY started my own e bay yesterday.!!! Feels great.
Spend a long time at a thrift store? I find myself realizing two hours have gone by without my noticing it if it’s a large thrift store! I also go back and forth through the aisles because I’m sure I forgot things and I check the bottom shelf a couple of times, great hiding spot for pieces someone wants to come back for. Then there’s the other departments besides the hard Goods/housewares - linens, electronics, shoes, jackets. Great video, love your treasures.
Your comment about your elephant looking happy reminds me of a comment I got in a thrift store. Your videos have opened my eyes to items that I had not always looked at before. I pick up more figurines, etc. now. Well, in line at check out, the young lady in front of me turned and smiled and said, "Your things in your cart look so happy!" That day I had yellow and red pyrex, a hand-painted little monkey, some Christmas salt and pepper shakers, and some swan figurines. I like to think that maybe she was having a bad day and my cart of happy things made her feel better!
I have 2 sets of Denby. Kismet I purchased with a roommate in grad school in 1968--we each bought a starter set. I have added to it over the years. In the early 1970's I bought Gypsy in Scotland and have added to it also. I just love them and use them every day. I have 8 place settings of each along with numerous serving pieces.
@NakedAndLaughing Denby Arabesque is my white whale! (I actually found another Denby pattern that I love even more, if that's possible). My new fave pattern is also ungodly expensive and must remain my secret, lol
I love watching you and Sue thrift together, and I am looking forward to seeing the unboxing of Drew's last gathering of surprise boxes at the flea market.
Laughed so hard at Sue’s joke! I love her sense of humor. My mom used to say “ when kids turn 13 put ‘em in a barrel and feed ‘em thru a knot hole, when they turn 18 ... plug up the knot hole! “ -- a joke for sure, but we have put disclaimers (don’t we) for those who don’t HAVEa sense of humor...love shopping with you both!
Lol! Sue locking her kids in a trunk! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 the red Elephant that you picked up is a twin to one I just got last weekend and will be posting on eBay shortly. It is from California Originals, out of Torrance CA, but I need to do more research before I put it up for sale. They have the cutest expression! Mine is a brown and orange combo.
I love watching you guys hunting for treasure it gives me my fix when I can't go shopping myself. Love your channel keep up the fabulous work. Happy thrifting
Seriously love watching you two thrift together cant wait for Sue to do the lamp transformation well at least attempt it looked such a nice lamp underneath its worth giving it a shot.
the little salt glaze pitcher is Marzi Remi. I have a whole bunch that I got here in Germany. I have the ,25 liter but that looks like a ,50 liter. The little on goes for around 15 dollar.
That elephants eyes are looking in two different directions!! LoL. Sue ... LOVE the Coach bag. Think it's the first time a " name" ever caught my attention..great haul ladies!! PS Sue so glad you are doing the project lamp!! Paint removal is something that scares me😬
Please give us a head’s up when Sue is doing that project piece. It’s so sad someone painted over that beautiful piece. Good luck Sue, I can’t wait to see your video.
I am addicted to watching you. I used to go thrift shopping and to Goodwill, etc, but I am now unable to get around, so now I will treat myself to something online. I have learned so much from you.
I saw that Last Supper figurine and wanted to shout. I think it came from Dollar Tree but I had one when a young mother. The funny joke was my kids always admired it but my son at the age of 5 called it The Ten Commandments. Ha Ha... he knew better but was in the midst of learning about them and the 12 apostles. As fate would have it his oldest son, at the age of 3, broke it. Cheap stuff but it was a fixture in our house for years. I would pay for another one.... if you want to go back and buy it! 😉😊
That typewriter table would be absolutely perfect for someone like me, who's bedridden, and hurts to much to sit up a good portion of the time. I would be able to pay in bed, and put the computer on the table. I use a drawing tablet in bed, and it would be just perfect for somewhere to put the laptop when in using it.
I remember these tables from back in the day when secretaries used them to move their big, heavy typewriters from one location to another. I have an old one - a wood top with a raised shelf for the papers - and I use it for my back-up computer. I love it...
Just a tip. Not sure if you have the plastic carry baskets as well as the large trolleys that you use. But I find putting a carry basket inside your large trolley stops the items rolling around. Keeps them safe and fewer nicks and chips. :) xx
Oh that lamp that was painted a coppery color in the paint was peeling away I would love to see that restored to a lamp ...one of my favorite things to do 😊
I really love your videos. You have inspired me to try selling hard goods. I have been afraid, but took the plunge this week. Wish me luck and thanks for everything! 💕 You and Sue are a wealth of information!
Denny Stoneware was made in England. I got married in 1972 and registered in a fine gift shop for Denby for my every day dishes. They broke easily. I don't know if the company is still in business. I loved the shape of the cups and that is why I chose that company.
Just love watching your videos. The 2 of you together are so chummy and gracious. I have a smaller version of the small blue pottery jug. Found it at a thrift store years ago, and it sits beside my kitchen sink, holding washing soda. Seeing your video reminds me, that I'm glad I picked it up all those years ago. Those Nippon pieces are lovely. I look forward to seeing the lamp get revived in Sue's capable hands.
I have been watching you pick the last few days and you have a very likeable and enjoyable personality. I was so inspired by your findings, that I started hunting today and found a nice lot of some very rare and beautiful pieces. Thank you so very much for being a teacher for us newbies and for being so down to earth!
I love the fact you all are ok with thrift stuff at home. I know some that would rather NOT. My house is nothing buy thrift & garage sale stuff. I LOVE my husband has no problem with it. 😊
@22:22 Nipon looks like a Berry Bowl, Used for berries and/ or whipped cream. They usually had a matching saucer to rest a spoon on. The saucers have that indent like for a cup but are a bit larger than a saucer cup. The sets are usually separated. Beautiful find.
I was hoping you would pick up the Syracuse China covered butter dish. Similar ones sell for $20 to $25. Great video. I love all your videos! You both are very talented. I see a reality tv show in your futures!
Almost 100,000 subs, I remember when you were just the crazy hair lamp lady doing these in the winter. This channel has blown up over the last couple years! PS my daughter loves your videos and of course the hair color.
Could someone please tell me why Ray Dunn is so popular? I just don’t understand. There is TONS of it at Home Goods and TJX. I don’t see the allure. Thanks in advance!
Seems to be appealing to people who like very simple lines, minimalist, practical looking stuff without decorations that makes them look busy. I personally don't like them because they are too simple and even kind of boring but I get the elegance of the simple lines. I'm more into highly ornate stuff and whimsical.
I think they are cute to an extent, I would never buy a bunch of it, but some of the mugs I've seen have cute sayings or words. But that would probably be the only ones i would buy. I don't like super busy looks and such but I don't like super simple looks either. But I know Jos is into simple clean lines so that is her aesthetic. I do wish she would do a house tour now that she has it all decorated but I have asked several times and she just avoids it.
Denby Pottery is pretty expensive to buy new Founded in U.K. in 1809, but I remember it as being around and trendy mid century. I know it would be heavy to ship, but I would certainly buy it if I saw it- and keep it !! A single dinner plate New is at least £16 and a pair of mugs £32
Check the coach bag. The Cs should perfectly align down the middle of the bag not askew. I don’t think those are aligned fakes will have a patch inside too.
SueMe oh I hope you are right. It’s just the summer weight comes from really good stock. They can also saturate the linen before setting the c pattern, they will know whether or not the heft will be ok before going all the way. For some fake shops it is a badge of honor. As an aside, I was mentioning it to a friend and she noted that Estée Lauder did a cross-promotion with Coach and they were deliberately a lil off so they could not be mistaken. That are also now being doctored.
@@Voirreydirector I have a few of my own Coach bags, so I know the feel of the fabrics. If this bag is a fake, someone went to a whole lot of trouble on it, especially since this particular style is not unusually expensive. Everything that's supposed to be there is... And for $8, it's worth a chance. Besides, I'll probably just keep it for myself, so it's not as if I will be passing a potential fake off onto an unsuspecting customer. But I really appreciate the info... :-)
Suen Estee Lauder one they altered or one of the best fakes around thirty bucks is not uncommon, purse addicts are like that.Coach doesn’t bat an eye, the piece would still be advertising for their company.
I really enjoy watching you two shop. I don't know if it bugs anyone but me ;but when Sue picked up a pretty bag and said she really likes it you said I like it ' I'll take it. Why?
Which bag? If you’re referring to the fall looking bag, I realize the camera didn’t capture the entire interaction. But I had picked up the bag and was looking at it. And I asked Sue what she thought, handed it to her, and started recording.
please let everyone know this lane chest was recalled. you can replace the locks and lane still will ship. My friend lost her 2 cousins when they could not get out of the trunk. Once the top is closed it cannot be opened from the inside. It only takes a couple of minutes for a child to suffocate. these are airtight once the top is lowered.
I’d take that typewriter table in an instant and for more! I do a lot of sewing and about to teach. Anything rolling, portable, side flip table, I’m in heaven. I also have a hand crank and a treadle machine. But even for class can throw out another machine near an outlet. Everything in my sewing room which is 2 car garage size is mostly portable, foldable, rollable. But I never buy the typical “sewing machine furniture”. Ive just started following you. If you did local flea market to sell you could upsell it as a craft table by presenting it that way. I’d pay up to $20 here and think a good deal. I have in fact bought things from two local estate and yard sale hunters as they go farther. Our retirement town is ranch rural. We do have a small local thrift store but it’s not as good as when I first moved here. I’d totally be buying some thing from you if you were my neighbor. I use a gate leg table on bed risers as cutting table but can take it up and down for sewing machines or even outside as picnic table. I’m really into multi use but it can be cute vintage at the same time.
I love your videos Jocelyn. You're so upbeat and positive. With all due respect to Sue, that Coach bag is fake and illegal to sell. The lettering is sloppy. The stitching is sloppy. Fakes have the creeds too. Even if the material is nice, the construction is not. Coach is faked a lot.
Unfortunately thrift stores have many fake Coach purses of varying quality all with Coach labels inside. Some are very good quality fakes & some are extremely poor quality fakes. They also have fake designer handbags....Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci...
I know that my opinion might bother Sue although I hope it doesn't. If I'm right, Coach will issue a Vero against her for selling a fake. She can get it expertly authenticated through eBay if she believes it's real.
@@CelticHippie I can usually spot a fake handbag in person but just going by the video I really couldn't tell if it was authentic or fake. Sue will do research & let us know I'm sure..
I really love your videos, and I have learned quite a bit from you two! I do prefer the videos where Jocelyn is shopping with adults, over the ones where she is shopping with the kids (I can’t even shop with my own kids).
HEADS UP SAFETY ALERT on those Lane chests. Children die in these every year because they play hide and seek with them or think it's fun to hide in them, and don't realize the lid will lock them in with no way out. If someone doesn't realize it and let them out, sadly they can suffocate in a reasonably short timeframe. Always remove the lock on a Lane chest. You can get a replacement from Lane that does not do this.
DENBY pottery stoneware is made in the county that i live in Derbyshire England its very good quality and made to last forever more, its quite expensive even the brand new stuff, Much of Derbyshire is very pretty picturesque countryside of rolling hills and beautiful landscapes with many villages that typically have stone built cottages and the bigger market towns usually have huge old 18th and 19th mill buildings that would have originally been work houses for weaving lace and fabrics during the industrial revolution. Look out for the other pottery made in Derbyshire ROYAL CROWN DERBY its more like fine china hand painted some pieces are rare and collectable.
That handmade piece Sue picked up by Emily is stunning. You guys find the best stuff. Every goodwill near me has garbage.
"She's kidding!"

I use a gate leg table on bed risers as cutting table but can take it up and down for sewing machines or even outside as picnic table. I’m really into multi use but it can be cute vintage at the same time.
Sue's Noah's ark piece is adorable. The stork planter is also very cute.
You and Sue each got a shout-out on Jami Ray Vintage this morning on your expertise. Thought you might like to know.
Glenda Cloud Thank-you! I just subscribed to them. ☺️
The space shuttle ceramic piece came from a box of tea bags. Can’t remember the brand off hand. I’ve recently gotten 2 of them.
I hope so.
I always enjoy watching you ladies shop together ! Than you for another fun video !
Loved those sweet little lace edged white saucer bowls!! Many Thanks for sharing!! 🌷😊
You inspired me , I went to our Goodwill for the first time. It was really nice. I’m going back when I have more time.
Sue, the lady over your shoulder in the recap was scary!!🤣
My thoughts too. LOL
Almost spit out my brownie, I just LOVE Sue! 😂
I really love your videos, and I have learned quite a bit from you two! I do prefer the videos where Jocelyn is shopping with adults, over the ones where she is shopping with the kids (I can’t even shop with my own kids).
Pres and Mrs Kennedy had a Denby coffee set often seen in photos of them at the White House.
Love the red elephant. I picked up a rooster similar to the ones you saw but the opening is in the front.
Woohoo! First comment ☺️ (doesn't happen often from the other side of the world). Love thrifting vicariously through your videos.
Someone on youtube said they spray oven cleaner on painted china and the paint slides right off.
Another great video!! Can’t wait to see what Sue does with that great lamp. I hate that it was painted!!! Thanks guys!
Hiya Jocelyn & Sue love the glaze on that elephant & cant wait to see the project lamp! Have a lovely weekend! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️
The MR stands for Marks and Rosenfeld who were a 1960s giftware distributer
Kudos to you. You are being so much more respectful to Sue. Very nice. Blessings
When I go in thrift shops I spent along time in there too. Love watching you guys! 🌾🍁🍂🎃🎃🎃
That Pumpkin Tea Pot is Adorable! I who ever purchases it enjoys it.
I love Denby and that Denby design is called potters wheel
