Thanks, I had Rufus already installed and didn't think it could do that. Saved me lots of time trying to find a small flash drive my 3D printer would read 😄
Excellent nobody else explained that only if the drive is 32gb windows 10/11 will let you format to fat32. I'm trying to update my car satnav, the dealer is useless
So many thanks for the excellent video.Your method of explanation and fantastic step by step instructions are awesome. Subscribed and thankful. Cheers!
If you're unable to find the FAT32 option directly, you can work around it by creating a partition of around 8 GB, or the desired size, and then right-clicking the drive in File Explorer. From there, select "Format" and opt for FAT32 as the file system. This method allows you to format the smaller partition as FAT32. how to create a partition Open Disk Management: Press Win + X on your keyboard. Choose "Disk Management" from the menu that appears. Locate the Drive: Disk Management displays a list of all connected drives. Right-click on the drive that you want to partition. Shrink the Volume: Select "Shrink Volume." Enter the amount of space you want for the new partition (in MB) and click "Shrink." A new unallocated space will be created. Create a New Partition: Right-click on the unallocated space. Choose "New Simple Volume." Follow the wizard to specify the size, assign a drive letter, and select formatting options. Select FAT32 File System: When prompted for the file system, choose "FAT32" from the dropdown menu. Complete the wizard to create and format the partition.
This does not work on my 4TB drive. I'm using a Mac disk utility and it says that the drive is too big for the partition map. I've tried all partition maps available.
Used Rufus and changed a 128GB flashdrive to FAT32 but when i right click it after the change it still says exFAT. is there a way to verify that it has been changed? Great video, easy to follow pace and simple program to use! Thanks so much!
I've got a ThinkPad T430S( it's got Windows7 installed), but it won't show this either, yet the error message says to change it to a FAT32. But I'm gong to try a computer at home that has a newer version of Windows on it. How are you all doing trying to get this program onto your computers?
who else is here because they need to factory reset their PS4, because ONE little power outage is making it not read applications correctly all of the sudden? I swear, this better work, I don't want to spend money on another ps4...
Did it and worked but when I put it on my onn box and formatted on there it wouldn't migrate to flash drive! I bought it on Amazon will buy a popular brand in store and try again
If you can’t format properly a micro sd card, use a Nokia 6220c to format to Fat 32. Then format again with an Android. Then copy large files to the card, and copy within the card more times using Windows. Fail will scandisk more times, then you fixed your faulty card, ready to use it for everything. Pendrive problem can be fixed by connecting to Samsung Otg, then power the phone to standby. Overheating will stop, and you can start formatting and use.
I am trying to reformat an exfat 256GB Kingston Flash drive to Fat32. Everything looked like it worked with the Rufus program and it did change the drive to FAT32, but the drive won't eject because it says a program is using it even though I know it isn't. I tried to install a 6.6 GB video on it anyway and I get the same "wont fit" message as before. Any ideas???
I’m trying to format my Sandisc Ultra USB 3.0 32GB drive. But it keeps telling me that the capacity is 64MB and will not format. Is it reading my my thumb drive incorrectly?
I formatted it through Rufus no problem but it didn't work on onn box! Had 64gb one like in your video on onn box and it worked the 128 gb formatted at fat 32 didn't work wouldn't migrate data and couldn't download anything

Thanks, I knew there was something I was missing. I needed a larger Fat32 drive for all of my music and to play it in my car.
The limit of 32GB or less was the part I didn't know. Thank you :)
Explanation was perfect specially for large size drives and the pace was magnificent.

You saved my troubles dude, thanks!
In most of your devices there is usually a built-in utility to format the storage media as FAT32, so this utility is more useful for USB Flash Drives.
THANK YOU!
Finally a hint that worked out 🙌
Thank you and glad to hear!
Thanks man,,,,God bless you❤
Used that rufus app to format my usb into FAT32 and it instead decided to destroy my whole usb stick :D What a greap application!
Well, you did something wrong then. Working fine for everyone else which is evident by the countless positive comments here.

What should be allocation unit size for 32gb USB???
What do you mean by non-portable drive?
Only works for drives 2TB or under - so, not "any drive".
Thanks worked perfectly
This, this right here is good stuff.
Followed each step and selected "start" format and ejected drive... but it still says formatted under "exFat"... any body else have a work around?
What is the point of changing the format to fat 32 is there a reason?
my Seagate OneTouch 2TB doesn't show up in the Rufus dropdown. Not sure what to do now.
same i brought a seagate one also i was successful with a walmart SSD but not seagate with this method

tysm man :D
So the title is wrong because you can’t do this on any drive, only 32gb or lower
That isn't true. You are talking about the restriction of writing to USB from Android. Has nothing to do with this tutorial.
Perfect!
Thanks for watching!
tysmmmmmmmm 🤑🤑🤑
So if tha drive is bigger than 32 gb you cant do it?
Not without a hassle
So i bought the 1tb flash drive for no reason.... This is dumb af

How do you do this on windows
This was done on a Windows machine.
@troypoint ok I followed it, at the end the last step couldn't find how to set it up as always set at fat 32 option wasn't available

Its because your usb is over 32 gb you need a third party software to be able to format it to fat32
