Yea I noticed a couple plot errors in this story and several key elements that are important to making a reader invested in the story like world building, character background and though his motivation is touched on it could be built up on a bit more. This seems like a creative writing assignment outline. The writer has talent and I'm sure if they keep at it they will get better. If redone this story has potential to be really good but I was able to accurately predict every aspect of this story down to the cliffhanger ending. I hope to hear more from this author.

I feel like I've been spoiled by pastas having satisfying endings lately…Odd, as I remember a time when I used to complain that every pasta I listened to ended on a cliffhanger when there was no reason to do so other than to annoy the audience. In this case, the cliffhanger ending works and makes sense, so I shouldn't complain. I feel like I can complain about Max, though…Dude said in his letter that "this has never happened, but just so you know, it could", and it just felt so out of left field when it did happen even though I kinda knew it was coming (you don't foreshadow something like that unless it's going to happen). Protag was screwed anyway, though, since he was going to stay in the panic room when the letter made it clear that the janitor would only vanish for half an hour before reappearing and finishing him off, and you can only make him go away once.

100% my favorite thing about this channel is the fact that it is not narrated in that same downward inflection toward the end of every sentence that so many other channels do in this genre. Like It always reminds me of the kid who was put in a group for a project, did nothing, then stood and read the report at the end in front of the class. Like it screams "I couldn't care less about this" which is really disengaging. However this guy actually puts decent fluctuations to his voice, and even does differing voices for characters which some people will chide as childish and even insensitive (usually the same people that say you are or aren't allowed to say certain words, talk about certain subjects, or even go the same places as others solely based on pointless things, like skin color.) Yet I find the it to be well done and tasteful if done in a manner that does not inherently promote or detract from a certain character in its portrayal, but then again story telling is a dying art

My preference is for stories featuring a protagonist who lives to reflect on their experience and us to ponder cozily about the lore.
There ought to be a reason for the creatures’ existence and a reason why a night guard is needed in the first place.
Had I been given this story to edit, I would consider multiple nights, the first few without incident providing insensitive for the narrator to continue the job and finish the story by adding “....I could feel it....then nothing? I looked at the watch and it was 6:00. I had made it! I snuck out of the ventilation cautiously and felt the overwhelming silence; I noticed the peaks of down subtly lighting the halls. The school now felt oddly safe...” meets employer from before, receives pay cheque and signs out, with a Well done and an invite to resume work at 10. Final lines being a warning about taking mysterious jobs without explanation.

Honestly the job doesn't seem that bad though, 60 dollars an hour. Just grab a few friends, load up on heavier weaponry, and just walk and gun any down that come at you. Since they provide a pistol guns clearly have some effect, and since they run to hide from Max, they can feel fear, just make them fear you as well.

rule #1 for surviving these things: don't take high paying jobs if they are ordinary things like a desk job, or a dentist.
rule #2: NEVER accept ANY security position other than the police.
rule #3: If a buisiness doesn't have a no firearms rule, bring one.

I wish someone would make one of these that was an hour or 2 long that showed the rules being found out and why the position exists in the first place.

Not going to lie, when I see stories that have any sort of weird “list of rules” I pass on them now. The trope is tired. Not sure on this story but had to say it.
