OMG the way no one commented 👁️👄👁️
I actually have a question (if you even look at comments of old videos 😅).
If you want to mainly focus on pop singing, is it better to have a teacher who themselves focuses on contemporary music or are classical teachers better? Because I feel like their style is just different.
And also, would you say that online voice lessons are just as good as in person? Can a online vocal coach really hear your voice properly?
Thank you so much though! I’ve just had the same experience with a voice teacher who was pretty good I think. But it felt off and I was always somewhat tense because she had that impatient vibe to her (I am not saying she was, maybe she was, maybe not), but point is that it felt like it and it made the whole thing somewhat mich less enjoyable than with the teachers I had before. Usually I leave lessons feeling super excited but this time it was different. So I don’t think I will continue with her, but I will look for a new teacher.

I started classical voice lessons last year with a teacher who studied classical but practices pop. I would suggest trying out classical training first (broadway or art songs) because it's soooo easier to transition to pop. Before, I wouldn't identify myself as a belter, or a pop singing person. But after the lessons, whenever I go out for karaoke, I find easy to sing pop. I hope you find the right teacher for you. I'm on that journey too, I feel like my first teacher has taught me the basics and I need to find a teacher who will teach me more about opera/classical (since that's what I really want to study).
