Dad bought me a 89 Trans am for grad As he didn't have the money for my 16th He found out he had terminal Cancer and sold off his car to pay off the rest of mine. My son has his grad this June I still have the Trans Am And he has driven it But there is no sparkle in his eyes for it ..I know he wants a Tahoe for camping and fishing Thankfully I can make it happen for him As my Dad did for me
I would'n't have even thought about giving it to your son in the first place. that trans am was a special gift from your late dad to 'you'. Some things, you shouldn't just pass down and that special gift from your late dad was one of them.

Sir I drove a 09 police package Tahoe for 3 years as my patrol vehicle and I loves it. It had the factory black rims and lowered stance that made it look really aggressive. I later was promoted and given a 4 wheel drive that wasn't a police package or pursuit rated. It was nice but nothing like my first one. I hope your daughter likes it her new car.
Damn I'd drive the hell outta that truck. Looks awesome with the wheels and the billet grill but I can't help but wonder if the grill wouldn't look better black...or even grey to match the wheels.

Awesome job! I had my my dash crack on a 2010 Chevy Avalanche and my local Chevrolet dealership replaced it for free....you should check into that, if yours is cracked.
Andy, I just picked up a 2009 what did u ask them where u located I’m in Cali not sure if the dealer out here will do that. Let me know how u went about it and I can ask won’t hurt to try.

Skuba Steve I would almost guarantee that it has been too long. Normally they will only do replacements like that for a certain number of years.
@@skubasteve1751 correction on my comment: I had a 2007 Avalanche and got it fixed for free in 2011. It is a well known issue for 2007-2013 GM dashboards to crack. So, I went to the dealer, showed them the crack, and asked if it was a recall. It was not a recall, but the dealer (just a random chevy dealer that I didn't purchase the truck from) said they would order the dash and install it for me. Maybe I got lucky, but now that the problem is even more known than it was in 2011, I'd say just go ask about it being a recall. That should at least start the conversation. Hope this helps!
Yup I have the infamous crack on the dash on my 11 avy . Just above the air bag.

*1st time viewer, that's a fucking nice first car! holy hell! hope she properly appreciated that one. i know i sure as hell would. i have a 99 tahoe with all the police package options on it except the rear anti-sway bar and the 135mph speedometer, it's got the better brakes, 260 Amp Alternator, better built trans,intake was set up a bit different than the stock one, and iv'e had it for 12 years paid $4,500 for it and it's never let me down. i'd love to have another of those trucks, but i got off on the copart kick and ended up with 3 Escalades and a dodge ram 2500 instead. But yeah nt sure she properly understood what she got and why it's so special but she sure looked like she appreciated the freedom she has now. that was an awesome first car! and if she ever gets tired of it post it up i guarantee you no matter how old it is it won't last up for sale long at all*

I can tell you're a good father, and very protective, this SUVs comes with a reinforced body. In effort to protect your daughter as much as possible. Even though any young adult would have loved a regular car this is the best way to go. Very nice outcome. Congratulations!

Tahoe’s are really nice vehicles. Especially carrying around your most prized possession. My folks have always had suburbans or Tahoe’s, and they love them. They had a 2001 z71 edition I remember...that thing was sweet back in the day. Drove it to my senior prom. Took it out after and drove it thru some freshly plowed fields. Man to be a young guy again!!
