can we talk about how she stood there and gaslighted and manipulated that child like a true narcissist and he still stayed true to what he wanted and made sure that he got out. good for that kid.
i analyzed her body language and she was highly confrontational and she knew the fight she was getting into. she kept fidgeting with her sunglasses in the first part, shaking her head, hands on hips other power stances. she was pointing at him and trying to stand her ground, she was gaslighting the kid practically the entire time and being a manipulative narcissistic parent. the kid was distressed and the adult was trying to grab the child out of the car. the adult was trying to earn the sympathy of the officer by saying “so i was in the wrong” and other things trying to manipulate the officer. this is a good example of a narcissistic parent. she deflected almost everything the child said. stay safe out there, call for help if you are in an abusive situation.
Hello, to the creator of this video, Caleb Leverett. This video has been near and dear to my heart for years. I was in a very different time of my life when I first watched it, a situation in which I felt both helpless, isolated, and fearful. In some twisted way, despite not having someone like you in my life at the time to help in any capacity as you did with Parker, this video brought me comfort. Today I thought of this video, and it brought tears to my eyes. I am in a very different place now than the teenage girl who watched this repeatedly, dreaming of a reality so foreign. Thank you for sharing something so vulnerable with the world. It will always have a special place in my heart.
Thank you for your powerful testimony and I’m glad you made it through. I genuinely hope that you use your experience to first and foremost make yourself healthy. Remember, it is not selfish to first make sure that your body is physically healthy through proper diet, sobriety and daily, rigorous exercise. Chin up and congratulations for making it. Be the change that you want to see in the world so that you may be able to set the example for the next generation. ❤️
HUGE EDIT: MY VIEWS ON THINGS HAVE CHANGED SOMEWHAT DRAMATICALLY SOME STUFF IN THIS COMMENT MAY BE VALID BUT OTHER PARTS AREN'T. ESPECIALLY WHERE I HAVE SAID THIS KID IS SMARTER THAN HIS MOTHER. THIS VIDEO HAS A VERY LIMITED PERSPECTIVE OF WHAT IS GOING ON, THIS VIDEO MAKES THE MOTHER LOOK MANIPULATIVE WHICH I CAN PUT MYSELF IN THESE KINDS OF SHOES BECAUSE BOTH MY PARENTS WERE BUT I DID FAVOR MY FATHER WHO WAS WAY WORSE. THIS VIDEO DOES NOT SHOW THE ENTIRE STORY BEHIND THE PARENTS AND THE 14YO. THIS MOTHER'S INTENTIONS MAY ACTUALLY BE GENUINE FOR HER KID'S SAFTEY. OR ON THE OTHER HAND SHE IS A MANPIULATIVE TO SOME DEGREE. I STAND BY MY PREVIOUS STATEMENTS THAT THE HUMAN BRAIN DEVELOPS THE ENTIRE LIFE CYCLE (IF I MENTIONED THAT BELOW); SO FORTH HUMANS FROM ADOLESCEBCE TO ELDERLY YEARS CAN REGRESS OR PROGRESS. WHICH IS WHY SOMEONE WHO HAS DISPLINCED THEMSELVES CAN TURN IMPULSIVE AT THE AGE OF 45. HUMANS HAVE UNIQUE EXPERIENCES THAT CAN FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE FOR BETTER OR WORSE. THE HUMAN BRAIN CONTINUES TO PRUNE AND ADD WHITE MATTER. HENCE WHY WHEN ADULTS SWITCH JOBS THEY CAN LEARN NEW THINGS, LIKE TEENAGERS CAN. THEIR PREVIOUS JOB MAY BE PRUNED AWAY BECAUSE IT'S NO LONGER NEEDED. WE HAVE PLENTY OF HISTORICAL EVIDENCE TO BACK THE CLAIMS I MADE. WE SEE THIS IN PSYCHOLOGY. CHRISTAINITY CAN EASILY PROVE THIS AND IT WAS BEFORE NEUROSCIENCE. HUMANS HAVE UNQIUE STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES. THIS IS MY CURRENT ATTITUDE AND BELIEFS, I HAVE SEEN PROGRESS AND REGRESSION IN MYSELF NOW THAT I AM OLDER, AS WELL IN MANY ADULTS WHO ARE OLDER THAN ME. ONE CAN ARGUE THAT ADULTS SHOULD KNOW BETTER BY A CERTAIN POINT AND TIME AND THAT MAY BE TRUE, BUT A PERSONS PAST ALSO WHAT DETERMINES IF THAT IS THE TRUTH FOR SAID PERSON IN THAT CIRCUMSTANCE. I AM LEAVING MY PREVIOUS COMMENT BELOW TO SHOW WHAT I DID BELIEVE AND BEING OLDER THEN WHENEVER THIS WAS, MY MIND HAS CHANGED SOMEWHAT. The kid is smarter than his parents, and the entire crap teens don't like their parents etc. is biologically normal. In the west we literally just started parenting teenagers when they use to be independent for thousands of years since caveman times. I mean we basically have disrupted our own evolution on how it wants us to grow up. By the pre-teens a part in the brain where we see our parents as omniscient and rely on them for everything is gone. Probably something to do with puberty starting but it happens. In all mammalian species the adolescent stays for a while, so either the adolescent noves on away from the parents or the parent is staying away from their offspring to enforce independence on their offspring. And here's another thing after one is done with puberty which varies from mid to late teens on average, they are biologically adults. This is before 18 at 18 or after, heck it can be in the early twenties. The adult brain is another story. The current theory about adolescents and young adults and why they take risks is because it's an evolutionary design to find and attract mates. Imagine this, caveman times, Mr. 18yo male over there has been kicked out of his tribe or pack to prevent inbreeding, his brain is 50% complete in the pfc, he's still impulsive, he's faceing a challenge now, he sees plenty of developed females with another male(s). He challenges a male who is older than him for his mate, this male is in his mid twenties, this male is wiser and maybe stronger. The 18yo is going to do impulsive things to win and rise through the ranks to gain this males assests. It's an advantage for the 18yo to take risks to epearn rewards. I can show links if you want to back this all up. A 14yo male is near formal operations which is 15 or 16 for male braons. This is when the intellect matures out in the PFC to make informed decisions, the limbic system tho develops much faster than the PFC, so the emotions are haywired. This is where pleasure fight or flight and other adult emotions come from, basically the amygdala that is part of the limbic system is a car accelerator, the PFC is the brake that is still a major wip. Thhe amygdala hjacks the pfc and makes it harder for teens to think in the moment. It's not impossible just very difficult.
Also not to mention, a 14yo male is NOT a child. Most times a 14yo male is not a physical adult. The right term here to apply in biology, legality and neuroloy is adolescent.
Honestly it’s fine if a parent calls a step parent their child’s mom/dad. But if it makes the child uncomfortable, then the child or biological parent needs to say something. And it would be respectful to ask the child first. For example, I talked with my mom, and I call my step dad by his first name. It makes me comfortable, and it makes them pleased to see me happy
@@li-qu9bk It isn't fine if the other biological parent doesn't agree with the idea. Like, if I were to have a child with someone and we later separated I would not be okay with my son/daughter calling another man "dad".
name because he's not his father. His real father and the man who raised him is right there. If I was a father to someone I wouldn't be happy with them calling someone else dad, especially when I raised them.
I’ve been there. At 14 you can be more mature than many adults. When I was 14 I was smart and mature, and being told that my anxiety wasn’t real, and that I’m being taught to play the victim role. I had problems, even if they weren’t too bad, they got bad fast if left unchecked, and being told I’m a child and my anxiety isn’t real, it hurt coming from my mom.
SithTeeters I was told that I had anxiety but I got it from phones 🤣 so I got grounded because my anxiety was bad for like a month and my anxiety was still bad if not worse.
I’m just 13 but I’m really mature and know when to tell what’s wrong from right, I’ve been told this by grandparents, and sisters. Probably more mature then my own mom smh
I seriously cried when he broke down. Im a 13 year old with a happy nice family, but I hate to see these things happen to some families. Great job Parker you’re doing a great job!
@@noisntrealofficial6853 he is standing up for his rights. his mom was verbally, mentally, and sometimes physically abusing him. he had every power to stay in the truck with his father
@@ellabiersbach2064 No. His mum was only verbally abusing him. The kid physically abused the mum by trying to jam her arm with the window. I agree with the other guy. It is crazy that he told her mum that he wouldn't come home... The mum was manipulative though but I understand that she would be sad and even angry
Seriously like why she gotta be so possessive he’s not a baby anymore. She’s got enough kids at home, should’ve let him go but alas this is the narcissistic way. Fortunately children can grow up and go no contact if they want to😊
Ishimwe Ishimwe the kid came with his dad to get his stuff to live with his dad but the mom is telling him he is staying home not going back with his dad the dad is the one recording and the guy in the background is the stepdad
that good job son at the end was everything. Such an incredible dad, handled this entire situation beautifully, letting his son speak his mind. good job caleb for saving your son 👍
I was in a really similar situation around your sons age. It was very hard for me to go past something like that but I couldn’t ignore my mother’s personal problems. Im really glad your son is doing okay now man
Oh definitely not. She's gonna try to talk but then say what she did in the beginning: "you're a kid you don't get to have choices" She's only acting as if she wants to talk because he's recording.
In true narcissist fashion, guarantee she'd ask him what's wrong, then get offended when he tells her. Both parties get frustrated and angry, she tells him what to feel and he feels trapped and misunderstood.
I can relate to this young man. My mom beat me so bad when the police came out and told her what charges she was facing she went into panic mode. I was given the opportunity of leaving my home and being put into foster care but that scared me so bad i said i would stay. After that she never put her hands on me again and i left home at 17. I have never, ever forgot that my mom almost killed me. I so proud of this young man for standing up for himself. It takes a lot of courage. I am also glad he has a supportive dad. I didnt my dad and sister heard my screams and didnt come to help me. I have watched this video several times. I applaud this young man.
I know this crap too well. She said they can “talk about it” go inside and talk. She’s fronting like she cares. I guarantee HE KNOWS damn well if he goes in he’s gonna get yelled at. Insulted. And possibly hit. I’ve been there with my mom my entire childhood. She says she loves him and giving a distorted view of love.
You can tell that kid is happy that he is with his dad god bless that kid his mom is making him feel terrified cause u can. Just tell in his eyes poor kid 😢😔🥺
Cam beats ik lm a kind girl but l got bullied a lot when l was in school but l didn’t let that stop me I stood up for myself and my mom is the same way and l live with my dad now and I feel more comfortable with him and safe so thank you for calling me a amazing and thank u for saying we need more people like u and l get it because l went through it before and l just wanna help other people that’s having stuff times 💖
U could tell when the mom and step dad were both by the window parker was scared and worried what would happen if he went in the house with them terrible
Exactly! And he kept talking like he had any say which i know must only be making that situation worse. Like lady its not a “temper tantrum” yall argue all the time i know from experience that situation is stressful and sucks like listen to your kid and respect that his father is right next to him not the one whos chillin and badically talking to make his wife happy and prove the kid wrong which im pretty sure he was wrong on most if not all of the things he said
Correct the real father was the one filming the step father was the one outside the car/truck think it’s more truck than car though and yes exactly that is the exact truth right there
She was saying daddy and stuff because the little girl was there and I guarantee that the step father is the little girls father and she doesn't want her to grow up not feeling like it truly her father. Not trying to be a Ken but I have gone through something almost exactly the same and after the ordeal I learning my father only wanted to see me at his house so he could get a lower child support I wish I could go back.
dont know if anyone else noticed but before the cops arrived she was very demanding and she was perfectly fine. Then the second she she sees them she starts fake crying like omgggg
That lady literally said so many things to try to make the dad look like a bad guy. She said is he high? Is he drunk? He is going to shoot me if I reach in the truck. She is a perfect example of a narcissistic manipulator. Shame on her
Also, on a smaller note. I though it was funny how she kept saying, "No babe, you are not old enough to make these decisions!" and then later, "We got you a car we were excited to show you and film it!" So he's not old enough to make the decision to want to stay with his dad, but he's old enough to have his own car??
I feel so bad even though this was so long ago. I remember watching this and being so flabbergasted by her. I’m glad you guys stood up for yourselves ❤
Brudda. That 2nd cop legit showed up and said “you don’t wanna stay here? And you are willing to take him? Aight you are free to go” what a guy😂. Love it
As someone who’s been in a similar situation it hurts to watch him struggle to talk without crying and try to act like he’s keeping his shit together I hope he gets through it and is okay.❤
Because she knew all along what she had done wrong, but she didn't care, she still wanted him with her without paying attention to what he wants. This is not how you should treat your child.
@Khadija Btt She said that but then every time he said something about his feelings and how she treats him, fighting with him she was saying things like “what?” “That never happened” “being a teenager is hard” She turned it back around on him instead of accepting what she did wrong. She could’ve admitted her faults
I can’t stand a narcissist. She’s is the definition of it. I have a whole lot of respect for you, sir. Not just for letting your son making his own decisions, but showing restraint. A lot of fathers wouldn’t.
When he said “you hit me” and she said “and I’ll hit you again” - that alone shows what went on behind closed doors. What an incredibly brave kid, proud of you Parker.
*_|||" 'Hes having a temper tantrum' she says while Parker is visibly being stoic, calm, and standing his ground when needed"|||_* To be honest, I think both Parker and mother are acting more calm and rational than they would if there was no camera and audience on them. I get, though, that a lot of Parker's "need for anger management" are because the mother might have bullied him. Parker responded by defending himself, and the mother than responded by making him take anger management; just for the thrill of power and control. I had a violent, verbally and physically abusive older sister; the spoiled princess brat of the family. She is never wrong in my father's eyes, as he himself is an equally physically virulent bully. Same story as what I think Parker is going through. When the issues between me and her are brought to the attention of other people, there's always some calm rationality about my sister and father; making them look like they were the victim of misunderstanding; and making me look like the troubled child of whom they were "only trying to help". I get the manipulation and mindgames. I lived it. I hope, though, that Parker takes it as a blessing that he has a father who would come to his aid; to be his place of rest and shelter. I don't have that. I'm the black sheep of the family, 100%. When my father and older sister (spoiled Princess fuck...) use me as their emotional dumping ground, I can't turn to my mother completely for emotional support, the way Parker can with Caleb.
@@achen5689 bro that just resonated with me. Unfortunately narcissists have this confidence and ability to articulate their defence where they sound like they are in the right even when they are completely in the wrong. The shameless manipulation is despicable. Gaslighting you into thinking that you are always wrong. Making you always doubt yourself and always holding your self-esteem in the dirt. It's so cruel and abusive and it almost seems like they don't even realize it. To a narcissist the number one priority is always feeling like they are in power and always in the right, so I believe there is delusion related to it. They fool themselves into thinking that they are infallible because their sense of self-worth is so strongly tied to it, tied to feeling like they are indomitable. Overbearing and always talking others down. Always a strong aura of tyrannical power and condescension.
As this is 7 years old and the kid should be like 21, it would be cool to get a follow up on this. The great state of US must have given the custody to the woman for a reason.
“You think me trying to get you out the car is scary, think about what’s going to happen when you go in”, yes she said it herself. Wouldn’t trust her one bit
aw jocelyn❤ you will be alright. It gets so much better. Dont let it get to you. And then get out as soon as you can. I had a terrible childhood, physical abuse, almost died… Now my life is great. Even when you think its impossible. 🫶🏻

@@tzr541 I am. Got a lucky ending.... The effects carried on for several years. Wasn't always great but I got thru it. Never give up and stand your ground.
She lied. She forced fake ass crocodile tears. She tried to manipulate everyone within audio distance. She even used the kid’s younger siblings as tools to guilt her son out of the car.
No matter how upset/angry this young man was, I never heard him cuss and he consistently said yes ma'am/sir. It may be a broken home but he is a well behaved young man.
No he wasn’t, not in this situation. He constantly yelled at his mother, rolled her arm up in the window and grabbed her violently leaving marks as well as behaved rather condescendingly. It was wrong for you as a parent to encourage such blatant disrespect and defiance in the fact of a court order. You could have made him get out as the father. Please stop painting this woman as a psycho and yourself as a downcast, lonely saint by profiting off of your kids pain via social networks.

I just don’t like the fact that she’s calling the step dad his actual father 😑🤥
Honestly it’s fine if a parent calls a step parent their child’s mom/dad. But if it makes the child uncomfortable, then the child or biological parent needs to say something. And it would be respectful to ask the child first. For example, I talked with my mom, and I call my step dad by his first name. It makes me comfortable, and it makes them pleased to see me happy
i don’t like that either

Last thing a 14 year boy wants be told is “You are just a child”. Even if it’s true, thats the most belittling thing you can say.
It’s hard to try to voice your opinion to your parents when it’s against them. Props to him.

SithTeeters I was told that I had anxiety but I got it from phones 🤣 so I got grounded because my anxiety was bad for like a month and my anxiety was still bad if not worse.

She was having a temper tantrum not Parker
Crazy projection from her
*_|||" 'Hes having a temper tantrum' she says while Parker is visibly being stoic, calm, and standing his ground when needed"|||_*
To be honest, I think both Parker and mother are acting more calm and rational than they would if there was no camera and audience on them.
Exactly this is what I'm thinking but I didn't know how to say it
Anyone under 18: understands their own rights
Any adult ever: DISRESPECTFUL
He did some bad and good things.
When anyone uses that word (Disrespectful), it means they DEMAND respect when they haven't earned it. You EARN respect. No one is born with it. Except maybe whatever royalty we still care about.

Some people under 18 don’t understand their own rights, but this. This boy is the perfect example of understanding his own rights.
@@eltzrothm1 right on !
Being a teenager in a nutshell: Everyone expects you to behave like an adult, but treat you like a child.
Yeah really... that hit me hard 'cause it's so true.
Fr bruh, my mom expects me to help my dad for forever but I can't play on my quest 2 for more than 3 hours even though I get all A's in school
@@Snipet48bro what 😭😭 you’re mad cus you have to help your dad, and can only play on your quest 2 for 3 hours 😭😭

Absolutely amazing father right here. No cap wish I had a supportive father like you mate. Hope you and your family have many blessings. Love from my family in the uk 🇬🇧 😊
i hate it when couples spilt up and talk trash about the other parent to their kids or infront of their kids. its the worst feeling ever
My divorced parents are still doing it thinking they are both the better one
@@Purge_18 damn
My parents were divorced since I was 1 and I’m 14 now like this kid. Luckily my parents have enough respect for each other and me to not argue and I have a healthy relationship with both of them. I can relate to this kid very much on a lot of points though.
oligamer 200 my parents got divorced when I was like 5, I’m 13 now and they do that every dam week. 👁👄👁
It really is
I hate the way she says daddy is going to call the cops. ummm. No is not his Daddy. His Dad is sitting Right beside him. I’m so happy that he is no longer with her, and feel so bad for what she did to the other Children.
Ikr
It’s his decision and she said that she knows that he loves Jason (the step father)
No. A man can be a dad to a child that is not biologically his. A dad isn't sporadically in and out of their child's life.
@@lisajimenez7981 We know. He isn't a real dad. A real dad cares for their child. Loves their child. Protect their child. He was probably thinking about the next football game.
And the step dad said the dad won’t let him out of the car if you listen closely
The mom “you can’t film my kids”
The dad “ it’s a public street and I’m in my vehicle I can film what I want to
The mom “sarcastic” “your so smart”
The dad “I know I am”
😂😂😂😂😂
those other kids were HIS TOO XD
That was a savage
OHHHHHHHHHHHHH
4 of them are his. How about “ my kids”?
The others weren't involved obviously
Seeing this boy being so frustrated breaks my heart. You did a good job there champ 💙
Kids don’t just hate there parents for no reason, you can tell that if he doesn’t want to go that badly they weren’t treating him good
Id like your comment but you have 123 likes, im not gonna ruin it :)
Exactly, parents are the ones you trust the most. Obviously she and her husband are terrible parents

Yeah that got me especially when she then realized what she said and changed it to spanking him not hitting him. I caught that right away. So which is it? Are you hitting ( beating him) or just spanking him ?

The threatening “huh”s , “what”s & “excuse me”s are giving me major anxiety. She’s trying to threaten him without openly showing that she’s threatening him.
Right
She's acting half way right because of the camera.
She just seems…. overpowering
You can tell since her new husband is a big dummy.. Shes a control freak
@Blake Babushka :3 sorry but thats not niceness that's a common method of manipulation
I've seen this video a couple of times. I'm impressed how articulate and controlled this young man was at 14 years old. I hope he still has a great relationship with his REAL FATHER.
Listening to that young man speak and break down about how much he didn’t want to go back was heartbreaking. Shout out to the father for recording and keeping his cool the entire time.
Amen to that

Does anyone know where he is now?

This is a masterclass in gaslighting and emotional manipulation and abuse
The mum is so manipulative to parker. She only started crying when the cop was talking to her. On the phone to the cop we was "crying" to make it as she is the victim. Parker did the right thing. Hope everything worked out ok
IKR!
Everything did he commented
She cried everytime she called someone new. She's putting his father down and calling him a bad dad in front of their son which I find very wrong.
@@cerisullivan7978 same she is so manipulative and so rude to her son and her ex husband. It is wrong I agree
