- The Avadhuta Gita (Song of the Free) of Dattatreya.
This classic piece of Advaita Vedanta was translated here by Swami Ashokananda of the Ramakrishna Order for the Vedanta Socity of California. The title of the text, Avadhuta means "liberated soul", while Gita means song. The text describes the nature and the state of a person who is spiritually free and liberated.

Why should I Seek
after Pleasures?
I am All Pleasures
Experienced
Why Hunger after
treats when
All The Worlds
issue from my Mouth?
What is the Need
not Satisfied
in the unending Universe
of Universes
That I Am.?
Where is the Want
when All is Possessed
in an Instant of Desire.
Being That I Am,
there is Naught.
Why seek? Because still dual! I don’t know about you, but I don’t wake up in bliss every morning !
Its taken me a lifetime to see this video. Thank you.
Why should I the identity in all grieve in my heart? So beautiful! Thank you beyond words for this reality!
Greetings from Mexico. This is beyond words. SO thank you.
Hola'. I'd love to be in Mexico.....cheers
this should have at least 2 million views. i guess very few are able to handle this.
As you once were unable.
@@thesaiyanpath7914 When was the Truth ever not an alien message? Haha. What kinds of souls care not to return to this place? Very few indeed is the Truth as I've seen it. And yet the Truth is so simple for the one who wants it here and now Truly and sincerely. Truly there are no problems at all, but I find it so sad to see my brothers and sisters going to the grave again and again drunk on pure illusion. But what do we say to this? Truly there's no one who dies or is born, and so I smile, as the Totality, Alone.
Matt Paulk you’ve taken it ‘all the way’, it seems. Fantastic job, brother. And your message came at such a perfect time, for me. Thank you.
Haha very nice. It can be fun to be drunk on pure illusion though. What a ride:)
Very few? Which few?
In every moment Silence is speaking❣️🌄☮️
I have nothing to say and I am saying it!
The Golden Thread of Truth. Too far out for the masses..'For the gate is narrow, and very few find'...Love to you all
Tony crook....there is no gate or few or many or way, or finding or not finding.
@@noname-by3qz just relax bro, he was simply making an analogy, no need to take it further.. lol
Yeshuwah spoke in parables which apparently are too deep as well. Such is the way of the Divine consciousness perhaps friend !?
Profound wisdom, beautifully read with magnificent background music at the perfect level.
Mind blowing , thought conquering
Wow such a calm, detached, soft voice. thank you 😊
Cherishing this as something to absorb forever. THANK YOU
Gratitude 🙏
Deep gratitude to you, Drew Campbell. 🙏 Perfectly peaceful voice (vishuddha chakra obviously open ;) ) in a beautiful ambience. Simply perfect. The Avadhūta Gīta expresses the Absolute Truth in the most radical way - alongside the Aśtāvakra Samhita and Śankaracharya’s Nirvana Śatakam.
I always come back to listen to this to feel grounded. The voice is so calm and does magic with the highest knowledge ❤
Truth beyond truth. Aummmm!
Thank you so much for sharing.
This is Excellent!
For me, personally/impersonally "it" is always simply Both: Both Dual & Nondual.
I am the Absolute too
This is beautiful. Thank you
Thank you very much for this gem

Buetiful, thankyou.🙏
One Light That Shines- Illuminated Enlivened Silence

Verily, Verily, Verily.
Great videos! Are you still around?
The verses 6 to 10 from chapter 1 are missing. Regardless, it was good to read the text following this video. Thank you!
Does anyone know of a source, someone pronouncing each of the sanskrit verses? I would like to learn the original sanskrit.
🖐
I still don't get it , what is brahman ? how can mind transcend to that state naturally? how can i remain in that state continuously?
All these questions hide what you are, brahman; mind wants to know what cant be known with the mind, only experienced when there is Silence. Patience will do its work💎

4:21 chapter 1
Perhaps the sage might explain the explanation
While this is appreciated, I wish you had 1. Spoken louder; it is difficult to hear you 2. Had the text on the screen at the same time that you spoke the words, as CC does not do a good job. Could anyone tell me, does the Krishnananda book also have the Sanskrit text? Best I could tell on Amazon, it does NOT. Very unfortunate.
