- Avadhuta Gita is a Hindu text based on the principles of Advaita Vedanta (Non-Dualism). The singer of the Avadhuta Gita is Dattatreya, an Avadhuta, and according to the Nath Sampradaya, the work was heard and transcribed by one of Dattatreya's disciples, Swami Kartikeya. As such, this text may also be considered a forerunner of Tantric literature as the themes, motif and orientation of this 'song' (Sanskrit: Gita) are common to Shaivite Tantras, Buddhist Tantras and Vaishnava Agamas (which are also tantric literature) and ancient Yoga philosophy.
This English translation has been done by Swami Ashokananda of Ramakrishna math.

@paul w Not sure why you would laugh at someone who is sharing their experience. Obviously, Nathan found this to be a profound and meaningful text why try to disavow him from that with mockery even if you find part of his statement not aligned with your core beliefs?
I think it tells us what we already know, but what it says in the start is really true, all the scriptures say it. Not even just the vedas most of the major religions say the same things, just prioritizing them differently.

Bhagavad Gita BG 10.9 The thoughts of My pure devotees dwell in Me, their lives are fully devoted to My service, and they derive great satisfaction and bliss from always enlightening one another and conversing about Me.
The Avadhuta Gita is a clear example of this.

Two things that I find that makes me sad: 1. You didn't read the Sanskrit verse followed by the English translation, and 2. You say "Self" instead of Atman (pronounced Aathmun in case people don't know). I find it meaningless to translate Atman as Self.
