Had some render errors with this one so sorry for some visual anomalies here and there. Most of the 4U footage was captured on a real 3DS with a capture card. Here's to hoping we get a remaster of these games in the near future.

The Poogie outfit system via expeditions was something I loved so much. All the cute ways to rescue the Poogie from various inconveniences was not only charming but had so much effort put into them??? Like. The dev team didn’t need to add those animations, but they did.
One of my personal greatest 4U achievement is still getting that Great Poogie costume after unlocking all the others. Didn’t even pay attention to how many of the costumes I got or what I was missing it just happened one day and I was ecstatic.
Wow, I had no idea there were Poogie outfits _this_ rare! No wonder I was so stumbled by that Deviljho suit despite having played for so long...absolute congrats for your efforts, I'll definitely give it a try too!
Also, as usual, farewell 4U (as well as 3U, Generations and Stories)! You will be missed, and will keeping on living in our hearts!

Risebreak could really use poogies though. Maybe give them the ability to randomly forage for small amounts of extra resources(and perhaps random cosmetics and charms?) if you wanted to give them a mechanical purpose beyond more cosmetics to unlock.

I didn't even know these were rare. I just have them since I played MH4U to death lol. I'm also replaying MHGU right now and I think it's even easier to obtain since I remember getting it after completing a quest.

There's a group of people on a 4u citra discord server I'm in that are trying to rebuild the servers, pretendo style, they're programming a server to know the right signals and send the right signals, there's a bunch more complicated stuff involved, but it looks promising.

the 3ds is the console that catapulted monster hunter into the juggernaut it is today. 3U, 4U and Generations are some of the most influential games of my life. I'll never forget the hunts, the level 140 velicrodome/rajang guild quests, the broken underwater fights, and the adept style spam. good times.
I haven't even done 70 percent of 4U, and it's still my favorite game of all time due to how it got me into gaming. I played the demo to death and learned how to play the game through it. While I never got to experience 4U online in its prime, I will forever remember the kind person who made a personalized quest so I could get the LoZ armor. o7

You talking about it, the final days of 4U online and having actually played a bunch of it during its final hours has got me feeling a bit emotional because I regrettably didn't do that and this game has an incredibly special place in my heart with it being my first and most likely favorite monster hunter game
I had no idea that that particular poogie outfit was so rare. I actually ended up getting that outfit casually. Consider me humbled but proud.

Best part of the outfits is that they had interactions outside the room.
I believe if you took the devilhog to the circular area in single player Dundorma, and place them on the edge of the circle, they'd charge around the edge.
Mh games always have so much character put into them.

i spent my last days on the 3ds/wii u playing 4u and xenoblade X respectively. in 4u i spent most of my time getting people their first gogmazios clear. 4u was my first ever MH game, and it'll always keep a special place in my heart. no matter how much time passes, i will never forget the pain, suffering, success and joy i experienced playing this game and all the others on the 3ds and wii u online. r.i.p. my beloved

MH4U was my favorite game on the 3DS and i think i would've been a worse person if i didn't play it
This video made me relive the very same grind that I did back in 2014, all over again.
I still swear by the rare eco Savage being the method, but it is abundantly clear to me that it was never a guarantee; maybe in old gen Monster Hunter fashion it just improved odds.
I said goodbye to monster hunter online by getting a weapon i allways wanted wasn't the greatest grind but felt amazing to weild over a devil-ho

I remember farming for this outfit for WEEKS back when I had time to in highschool. I didn't know exactly how rare it was but honestly from how long I remember farming for it those odds track. Once I got the Deviljhog I have never taken it off.

I remember as a kid these expeditions were really fun. However one day a Kirin appeared inside an expedition out of nowhere and I shat my pants so hard because I never saw a Kirin before and suddenly there was lightning everywhere. So basically I fought this horse for eons until it finally died.

I’m just glad that I had people to help me grind or in some cases being the reason I could hunt a monster in 3U and 4U. While I did have a time limit, I got to experience some of the older games. There were so many monsters that I wouldn’t have had the drive to hunt if I had not played it already. Seriously, Dalamadur is awesome and I’m so glad that CapCom made a Dire Miralis plushie! Hopefully a remake/remaster for those games comes to modern consoles.
(I have also preordered Fatalis, White/Old Fatalis and Alatreon plushies)

Fun fact Deviljho is most commonly referred to the as a pickle, so getting the Poogie outfit I always referred to it as the mini pickle outfit, then promptly renamed Poogie Pickle Rick xD

Had so much FUN, help a lot of hunters as "DHARAK" with Gogmazios, Shah dalamadur, Ukanlos, Akantor and the GOD HIMSELF White Fatalis. Best time which school and work hours didnt get in the way.

But one of my regrets is that I never got to Gog in MH4U, so late last year I started a new save, and out of personal challenge, I wanted to solo my way through the whole game, at least to G3
I achieved my goal of seeing and beating Gog with some cool people right before the servers went down.
In retrospect, I wish I had played online more while I could, but at the same time, I feel very satisfied and finally certified as a "vet" after soloing an old style MonHun's G-Rank
Now I need to finish the last quests of Caravan and The Master's Test, and I think that will be it for my MH4U experience.
One of the best games I've ever played.
It's so good. I never fought a few of the monsters (White Fatty, and Shah Dalamadur) but I started a new file emulated with that same challenge of playing by myself. Still in HR village but I think I love the game to eventually solo to Gog HAHA
for being what is essentially a gameplay compliation its well scripted and paced enough to be way more fun to watch than simmilar things i've seen before. good work!

Such a quest. That's my fave poogi (Jho has been one of my fave monsters since my first encounter with it randomly in Tri online) and I got it early so I was satisfied.
Great use of the cutscene in the end. 4U was a special game (first time I teared up at a monster hunter story when everyone was wishing me luck against the wheel of fate.) and Lord I miss the Caravan. To this day I have never crafted that scale. Even in other games with Shiggy, I keep one scale (I like to believe my hunter is always the same one, just willfully dropping rank each new place they go to experience the journey again) to make it that one giving to me.
I'm still mad that we never got that initial town theme for Rise/Sunbreak as a music pack.

I remember spending days going to Expeditions looking for this Deviljho costume, im pretty sure i got litterally every costume in the game exept this one. Its almost as elusive as Deviljho eating its own Tail
7:40 The Poogie Pearl is a reference to the saying "giving pearls before swine", which means giving attention and gifts to someone who doesn´t deserve or understands your value as a person. In other words the poogies is gifting you pearls because there are useless for them.

I spent my last days playing MH4U. While I may have not played as many hours as others, it was a really special experience. Disconnected from my lobby before I had to and feel really bad about losing contact with my last lobby’s hunters.

I play MH only casually, pokemon Alpha Sapphire was my main grind though. What you just said about Nintendo forcing us to find a way to spend the remaining time with our games… hit home hard. I’ve got 3 personally trained teams of meta and niche competitively bred shiny Pokémon and all 5 maison trophies. 999:59 hours reached on my save file only less than 6 months ago in December. Sad. I hope we regain community for our Nintendo handhelds.

Ah, this brings back so many memories! I started playing MH with Tri, and let me tell you, I sucked. I knew how to play and kill the monsters, sure, but the armor/weapon abilities and how to equip the best decos and how skills worked? No sir.
I only happened to learn and understand these with 4U, and at the time my boyfriend showed how much I was losing by not understanding these mechanics. We played the entire 4U multiplayer campaign together, did talisman hunting and everything. But I still remember my hunt for this specific Poogie drip. You see, I loved the Poogie, and wanted to find the best outfits for my little friend. So I played for hours and days to find the Pickle drip. The most beautiful and powerful of all of them! I finally did it, and my Poogie was so cute. Thats what matters in the end.
Next year we are getting Wilds, and me and my now husband are finally playing together after years of not hunting in a party because the games didnt have crossplay. We only had a single console that had MH, you see. And the many versions could not play with one another. Not playing with him made the MH experience so much less fun, but I'm so happy to be able to play with him again. And thanks for this video, that made me think about some of the best memories we have with the series.
Oh damn, I always thought the Jho poogie outfit was cool looking so i used it too when I found it casuallt in my first playthrough, but had no idea it was rare at all! Great video that made me learn something new about 4U
I presume the Great Poogie giving Yian Garuga parts is due to it having a similar appearance to Scarred Yian Garuga who at the time was a the base version of the monster until MH Freedom Unite.

4U was my first monster hunter game and even after playing world and gen and rise and a bit of 3 its still my favourite by far. Theres just so much attention to detail and i feel like the Gore magala was the best flagship so far. He is with you since the beginning of the game and when you beat him, he comes back even stronger, and even when you beat the new version of him his legacy lives on in the form of the Apex Seregios and all the frenzy monters. No other flagship has such a rivalry with the player, not even Nergigante.
Did not know it was so rare. I got it before it occurred to me to name my Poogie. So I named it after that outfit.

I was in the same situation as you were few years back but instead of the devilhog I was after the Great poogie and I didn't know to increase my chances back then so it's was a long haul I can't tell you how many days it took me to find this specific costume for poogie and when I finally found it I was overjoyed
