    The Dutch Reformed Church arrived in America in 1608 when the Dutch West India Company brought slave labor to its colony, New Netherland. This course will consider the relationship between the church and slavery, including how, when, and why slavery came to be questioned, during three different periods of time.
    July 15: The first session will focus on the period 1608 - 1750.
    July 22: We will consider the era from 1750 to 1855.
    July 29: The last session will explore the period from 1855 through the recent past.
