Not the Battery Used but the one I was going to Order amzn.to/2BpRzqS
New Version of HP Tuners I used amzn.to/2qo1eMi
Cheaper Scan Tool amzn.to/32vP2aw
So I went out this morning to start the car and it barely turned over. It has been doing this randomly but not that it is cold the battery is dying. The Buick and Several other GM Cars have the battery located under the rear seat. Im not sure if there is a reason for it but thats where it is. Today I went to the Parts store and picked up a new battery. Normally I would order it but had to have it today. Crazy that I have all these cars and none to drive lol. This video will be a how to on a Buick Lucerne battery replacement and odb scan. Let me know what you think in the comments below....

I'm a single mom. I just got one of these. Battery died. I had one of those jump boxes. Had enough money for a new battery but autozone wouldnt change it due to its location. Had 5 more dollars in my account. Watched this video for lols. Changed my own battery. Ur daily driver saved my butt, sir.
Thank you for commenting. Glad it helped
I just bought a 2009 Buick, this is a very informative video. I heard the battery was in the back, but had no idea how to access it. Thank you so much!
Glad I could help.
Thank you for this video. I need a new car battery for my Buick Lucerne. Much easier than I thought it would be, and saves big on saving more money. Thanks again dude!
You're welcome. Glad it helped you out
@@TWAMotorsportswhat type/ model of battery was the original? I need to buy a new battery for a Lucerne today and wondering what's best to get
@@kodygrantham5962 just go to local parts store
Thank you for spreading the information a lot of people need💪💪
Hopefully it helps others
Thanks for this... At least I know why the dealer said I need an appointment... I'm 72 now and just don't want to get this involved any more... But, on another note I've got 130K on mine and use it every day... It's been a great car!
Glad I could help
Thanks I was able to get the job done easily without any help. Your video helped me have the confidence and saved me lots. Thanks again!
Awesome. Glad it helped.
Thanks for the video. I need a new battery for my Lucerne.
Thank you.
For future reference, when you are removing any battery you step suppose to remove the ground first and then the positive and when installing do the positive first and ground last
I have never had an issue but thank you. I don't know all and appreciate the information
If ur grounds hooked up and your wrecnh touches another ground while your also touching the positive shell throw sparks and melt wrenches
True story
Test drove one today and was stumped on battery placement , thank you
Glad I could help
you are doing a great job on your videos! keep up the good work
Thank you
Went through the car wash last night with my V8 2006 Lucerne, and the check engine light popped up. Haven't checked the code yet. New my batt was in the backseat. Just got this thing last week after driving Toyota and Subaru for the last 15 years. Needed to educate myself where the battery is lol. Thank you for the video.
Thank you. Hopefully you figure out your issues
Checked a local parts store online for this particular battery they recommended professional installation because of the vent tubes and it would take at least 45 min😀Thank You, your awesome.
Lol. Crazy
Thanks for the high quality video.
Glad I could help
Best part about this video is how you kept saying no one wanted to see you working on a daily driver. I have an ‘09 Lucern Super that just broke 550HP on the dyno last Saturday. 550.2 to be exact. I love “daily drivers”.
Lol. That's awesome
@@TWAMotorsports She’s still a fat pig, but she’s fast and comfy. Lol.
I'm sure of that
Awesome job on the quick view video, and knowing the sockets I'd need since I had to do a battery swap on the street in - 30. Had it done so quick i didn't even loose my radio station presets
Thank you
Thanks Pard for the information
Pro quality instructions
Thank you
Thanks for the video. My old battery can no longer handle minus 40F weather so it's time to replace. Had no idea about the vent tubes.
Glad it helped
Very helpful! Thanks for this video.

Lol. Thats crazy. Some people don't want to work on cars.
Thank you, that actually helped me to replace battery in my lucerne 😉
Glad it helped

Lol
Thanks! My daughter's Lucerne needs a new battery, there is only one parts store that install them and they charge $90!
Glad I could help save you money
Thanks
You're welcome
My friend gave me one it was overheating shut off has no power And he got it from the auction should I keep and fix?
That’s actually a very good spot. Avoids corrosion to the terminals that way and geta you to clean the back seats while not getting grease on you.
Thats true I guess
Those are good reliable cars for daily drivers. I think it's one of the last to have the reliable 3.8L pushrod V6 before they went to that crappy 3.6L DOHC Timing Chain Disaster. Did they ever get the later 3.6L timing chains fixed in the latest ones? GM sells some pretty expensive vehicles with that engine, possibly one of the worst GM ever made. My uncle had a car like that and I thought it drove well and the old 3.8L made pretty good power for a V6 daily driver.
I agree. It's funny you say that. I purposely bought a 3.8L because of that issue. 3.8 is a proven platform.
You gained a new follower 😊 I love my buick, it's my ubereats delivery car.
Thank you
same
How has it held up
@@dg7848👌🏾
My 1995 Riviera had its battery under the seat. Always thought is was a goofy location. The 3800 was one of GMs greatest platforms. Not sure why they went away from it.
Such a weird placement. I agree with the 3.8. Should still be made.
Travis, I caught that you used to work as a GM mechanic? What do you do for work now? Great diverse content!
I worked at a gm dealership but not as a mechanic. Was on the sales side. I however spent a lot of time in service.
Bought a 2008 Lucerne about 2 weeks ago but just started driving it on may 27. After the 3rd day my battery died from leaving the car doors open while i cleaned the vehicle. Assuming it is the original battery since it had 1 owner and he literally drove 12 thousand per year. Anywho i came to find out how to remove the backseat. Appreciate the help!
Awesome. Glad I could help
I think auto zone gave me wrong battery. 2008 lucerne. Battery from autozone does not have side terminals. Will have to see what is up and will show your video! Thanks!
Good luck
I am not the smartest guy in the world. Why would a car manufacturer put a battery under the back seat? Thanks for the video.
No idea. I agree with you but a lot of cars do that now.
Safety is part of it. Protection from the elements is another. Weight distribution is also a thing.
All true
Nice video, I heard you say that you used to work at GM. 2 questions,
1. My rear brake lights stay on while driving
2. Collision warning lights are staying on the
side mirrors. Any suggestions or ideas?
Sounds like a short in a wire. Hardest things to find. For the brake light issue you may ned a new brake light switch
Hey brotha quick question , is it better to rebuild my ls1 or buy a whole new block? & if I do buy a block I was thinking maybe ls3. My motor started to knock and idk which route is better appreciate your help!
My opinion is a new block or long block from a reputable company like texas speed.
TWA Motorsports id have to switch the wiring harnesses and other stuff too when I do buy a new motor? Huh
@@Saiyanssj2 not really. You can get a box to go from 24x to 58x reluctor and harness for knock sensors.
Do you know or remember what way the bracket goes that mounts and prevents it from moving.
I don't. Sorry
How many cold cranking amps does the battery for this car call for?
I'm not sure actually
I have a question. Do you think that will fix my 2007 buick lucerne? it hesitates to start but it do start. There has been times when it won't start. There has also been times when it starts but its idles up and down all crazy. I need help, please.
That could be the issue. It's hard to say for sure though
So did you every figure out the problem DAFATHATICTOC?
I have a 2006 Buick Lucerne I'm having trouble with the ignition key want to go to turn it off it doesn't want to turn off all the way so the key is stuff so I can't get it out and it runs my battery down can you give me any suggestions
No idea
Thanks the info , so far i love my buick i was lead here cause i am adding a subwoofer lol but my batter was put in new before i bought it and new tires he laughed he said he paid $800.00 to have a battery put in......now im kinda laughing ....its not that tough
They are great cars that's for sure.
i have the same car and my problem with the battery is that the positive cable doesn't want to screw into the hole and stay there and comes out really easily like it's stripped or something. any suggestions?
May need a battery. Don't know of a way to fix the terminal
@@TWAMotorsports it’s not the battery itself I believe it’s the little bolt that’s hooked onto the cable that won’t screw in
Oh. That you can replace
I'm looking into purchasing a 2011. Any cons? Also I like that touch screen after market stereo! Please send the link of the product.
The newer models 09 up have a different engine that I am not as big of fan of. I made a video with the radio and it has a link
TWA Motorsports I found it! What do you not to like about the 2009+ engine models?
@@IAmMTG1 not that they are bad but the 3.8 v6 was an amazing engine with proven history
That's what I have. I'm havin problems. I took it to oreillys and it tested out good but that's the original battery in that car. Ain't no way it's good. I have a cable jumper thingy and it starts it RIGHT up. I never get a battery light or anything. Well now I have a brand new that I'm trying to put in. Hopefully it works. Sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesn't
I got 2 little kids and a dog. I have to say the back of your car looks SPOTLESS compared to mine 😂
I try to keep it clean
@@TWAMotorsports btw thanks for the video. I was able to swap the battery out no problem and she starts like a dream :)
@ADHDlanguages glad it helped
What software are you running on laptop?
Hp tuners
Just changed my battery but my vent tube didn't fit now I seeyou have one from each side I only have one and can't find a guaranteed replacement online or in stores😭
That's wild. Maybe different years had different options
@@TWAMotorsports maybe I've got a 08 cxs so the v8 might be different but the battery I bought has slots for both ends maybe I'll get lucky at a junk yard
Yeah. I bet its different
Man that Buick clean af compared to my mother that’s ran ran to ground. But now having to get it up and running again cause she hounding me too haha son come fix it okay money “
Thank you. Definitely good cars
65 degrees in a T-shirt that's denim jacket weather
Lol. That's a heat wave here.
@@TWAMotorsports a friend moved to Florida says people put on sweaters if it dips below 75
@@tolfan4438 lol. I imagine
I replaced my battery in my 2006 Buick Lucerne today and I went to get it smogged right after. It failed smog and had no check engine lights on and the cat is fine, tech told me to drive it for 50 miles around 60 mph and it will reset the computer so the car would pass, well I did that and it still hasn’t reset yet, any ideas of when this gonna happen? I’m up to 104 miles, tech said everything else with the car is fine
That is crazy. We don't have smog tests here
Battery Engine Cold Cranking Amps
MT-79 V8/4.6L 840
MT-79 V6/3.8L 840 Anyone know the Costco price ?
Take the NEG (black) cable off FIRST, put it on LAST. That way your wrench never touches ground while touching the POS.
Probably should have
Ibs sensor how to install
Don't have this car anymore
👍
What up. How many miles on her?
123k. Bought it with 73k about 2 years ago.
Under my backseat oh gosh I looked at what was under the hood and I was like what the heck is that it did not make sense but under my back seat there it is the battery
Yep
Never put a tool on the positive terminal while the negative cable is connected!
Gotta lower it now that you've touched it.
Lol. I think I will leave this one alone
I asked the oil change guys where is the battery in my Lucerne ? They did not know.
Lol
Sounds like a jiffy lube associate .
Why does it say driver dies?
?
Wow this guy knows what he's talking about but he has the battery on concrete which will drain a battery real smart
They are stored on concrete before and after shipping
Old wive's tale
lol the camera has a better framerate than the lcd screen so it's picking up the empty frames
Yeah
Brakes? Did someone say brakes? I have a set - EBC GD7090-Black (pads Red Stuff DP31100C) Check to see if they will fit your daily! Local pick up in the Philly PA area $150 (I can ship but that will raise the price by $50) my contact info is on my channel! Say TWA sent you to get that price - the rotors are over $200 alone. Thanks!
OK, 2 HUGE problems with this video! #1 He disconnected the positive terminal first. It is common knowledge that you always remove the negative terminal first. #2 If you would have used a battery tender or power source, you would not have lost all the codes/presets.
Cause Buick knew mfs steal 🤣motor city
Dude! You call that dirty??????
Oh that's right, you don't transport KIDS in that car! And you are a GUY! Hence you think it is dirty!
LOL
Thanks for the info... was expecting a LOT harder process cause the parts store said write-up said "difficult installation" and referenced 45 minutes to install
Dirty to me lol. Glad I could help
Stop apologizing and post more Lucerne videos

I don't have one anymore
