i ordered the replacement motor mounts for a Buick Lucerne 2006 it comes with 4 parts one of them is called a torque arm and the other is for the transmission. Two of the parts look like the one shown in this video, where does the other one go?
Excellent video. I am trying to change mine (2007 Lucerne) I can't seem to get leverage on that top bolt using the swivel. I am afraid I might strip it. Also, was it difficult accessing that top bolt on the bracket? Another video shows him using a flex head ratchet. Lastly, what is that on your swivel, old tape?
yes it is the old type.just remember you half to take all 3 mount bolts out after sporting the eng.because the motor mount will not come out until all the bolts are out of the bracket.good luck
@@jimcapelli1431 it has a slit angel .every thing has to be lose to put it in the car. if not your top nut on the mount wont slide all the way down to put the nut on it is tricky but half to play with it
I have an 06 lecerne and my mount actually fused to the bracket holding it to the motor. So if you have the same problem you have to lower the front subframe and loosen all the other motor mount to create more clearance. Hope this helps someone.
Thanks this video helped me out a lot. Saved me a couple hundred dollars. So I bought the best parts 🙌🏽
About to change mine this week with the boys! Thanks man this has helped a TON!!!

It would be nice if somebody had a video to show how to change the rear engine mount and transmission mount
Tell me about it!
How long do the mounts typically last on a Lucerne? I’ve got 40k on my 2008.
Can also be an 18mm on the front one. Was told it was 21mm but one person said theirs was an 18 and I just changed mine. It was an 18.
thanks. good

I had to drill holes in my bracket because they sent a mount with too large of a guide pin. Thank you for your help and the fun video.

Also u put the bracket on the motor mounts top bolt before putting it it the car so the mount sits correctly before dropping the engine back down.
Cool.
What about the transmission mount?
The transmission mount is hard broke, until now we are not have the problem yet, so i don't have this kind video, so i cant show you. sorry.
Could have done without the music, much rather hear him explain the process
thanks the info
Have you ever heard of lucernes having transmission problems rooted from bad motor mounts?
No.
Those were good for another 100k
